  1. So, TBD, it’s been a while. No, I don’t expect that most of you have missed me, and yes, I’m glad to see that the board has gone on just fine without my bluster. For those of you that asked and never got an answer: I’ve been around. I’ve lurked a bit, thought a lot, but mostly it’s been business as usual as a Bills fan. I still watch every NFL game every week, and my Bills passion hasn’t changed one single solitary iota. But this post isn’t about me, it’s about you. All of you. See, some of you reached out to ask where I’ve been, and a few even asked me why I left (thanks for the concern from all of you—yes, I’m doing well and the family is happy, healthy, and grateful). It started simply enough: I was tired. Tired of spending more time than I should typing the same thoughts over and over to an audience that didn’t routinely bring out the best in me (a fault that lies with me, not you, dear reader). Then, at some point (I can’t exactly say when), I realized something. Something big. Something life-changing. I don’t need this. Not to say that TBD, the Bills, or Bills Mafia aren’t great. They are. I love the Bills. I love Bills Mafia. More today than I ever have before. And being a part of this community gave me a platform to express thoughts and share ideas that I never would’ve otherwise explored. But… The time away showed me that I don’t need the platform. I don’t need people to validate my thoughts, rants, ramblings, tirades, shtick, or whatever you want to call it. I’m enough without it. And that brings me to the reason for this post: I want to share that one final thought with all of you. You’re enough. Right now. Right where you are. You don’t need outsiders telling you who you are, what you represent, what you deserve. You don’t need a Bills’ victory over the nemesis, you don’t need our QB (the best in the world—yeah, I said it) to win MVP, and no, you don’t need a Super Bowl. You. Are. Enough. Look, I know how it sounds. Like some happy nonsense oh-well-it’s-okay-if-we-lose-sad-sack-crappola. Yeah, I used to think so too. When T-Bass’ kick sailed wide right, I was crushed, just like all of you. But it’s a different kind of crushed now. I’m sad for the team, not because of the team. I want these kids to win for them, not for me. Because I know who I am, I know who made me, and I’m never going to let the result of a sporting event affect how I view myself in the grander scheme of things. And neither should you. You’re not a punch line, and you’re not a victim. You’re Bills Mafia. You chose this, you LOVE this, and no matter what you or anyone else may say, you wouldn’t give it up for anything else in the world. And neither will I. And I have good news: there’s no worst nightmare left. The worst thing that could ever happen to us as fans has already happened many times over. Be not afraid. We’re in this thing together; to the bitter end. Because being a Bills’ fan isn’t about winning games, breaking records, or breaking tables. Heck, it’s not even about football—football is just the setting; the arena. Being a Bills’ fan is about being a community. It’s about having each other’s backs, and letting each other know that I don’t care how hard we get hit, or how many times we get knocked down. I’ll keep picking you up as long as I know you will do the same for the rest of us. And that, my Bills Mafia brethren, is enough for me. And I implore you all: let it be enough for you, too. Bandit, signing off.
  2. Jauronimo is being a prick.  He loves to call me out specifically  Just like Teddy does.

the ignore list got one person larger

  3. Regarding your comments to Tesla03 please be careful about even seeming to support Chandler81's continued intimidation of posters for having takes that differ from his.   It's a problem.   Differences of opinion stimulate discussion.   You are one of a dozen or so folks on here who provide consistent good football content but without the freedom to express opinions it gets really boring and that leads to even less football discussion.   I am concerned that he is stamping out a lot of people who are convicted in their opinions enough to actually care enough to contribute.

      Fair enough.

I tried to steer clear of any type of endorsement since I agree about Chandler and make my statement stand on its own.

At some point this season I may exhume the thread in which Chandler called me a self righteous know it all for saying that Edmunds was the team's best pass rusher and should be playing LorAx's position once he retires. But that would only be if he gets so big for his breeches that I feel some personal responsibility ?

I'd like to see him out as a mod.   He knows that.   SDS is very loyal......including putting up with complaints about my sarcastic responses for years.........but it's not right having someone acting in such a  mercurial manner as Chandler as a senior mod.    If he's having run-ins with you that just illustrates how ridiculous it is because from what I've seen you are always cordial in disagreement.   I was in timeout for a month for suggesting that JoshAllenhasBigHands didn't have season tickets in the "is it ok to boo your team thread".   I've got about a dozen people on block(which they B word about) because I literally have no idea how Chandler is going to react to any response I give to them so it's not worth it.   I rarely complain to Scott but some days like today I log in and Chandler is giving thumbs up to posts that he agrees with that just say "that's idiotic" (clear TOS issue/personal attack) and then threatening people for expressing dissatisfaction with what they see on the field.   It's gotten ridiculous.  Clear abuse of the privilege of moderation.

  4. Hey i know guys like you are way above me in the football knowledge world just by the amount of posts you have but as you can tell by the amount of posts i have i don't spend near the time on the computer because i have other things more important to do & this is just for fun ! I come here because i like the Bills & have for a long time & like to read other peoples post & have fun that's all i was doing with the post that i mentioned something about gloating if you would have seen the smiley faces that may have given it away . I'll try & live up to standards set by you more experienced posters next time & be more serious & factual in my future posts ...

Have a great day fellow Bills fan GO BILLS  !!

My post had nothing to do with knowledge, seriousness, time devoted to the board, or anything like that.

You started a LAMP post to brag, so my guess would be that you expected some ribbing from fellow posters.  Hopefully you didn't take my posts too seriously, because they're intended to be tongue-in-cheek.

I guess the only 2 things I'd say are:

      1) when you make a self-aggrandizing topic, be prepared for some needling

      2) if my specific needling offended you in any way, then you have my sincere apologies

      Be well.

  5. As I discovered months ago, I know you aren't serious with the schtick...because there's no way physically possible that someone could be this poor at following a discussion. If you were serious, you would literally never have a functioning conversation, because the crux of practically everything I've ever seen you attempt to discuss on this board is entirely lost on you.
  6. The worst take of them all is the dude that can't follow the discussion and simply blasts out platitudes like "you don't move your LT and no team ever does" when it's blatantly false. Yep...not a difficult concept to grasp. It doesn't mean that (1) Dawkins would be a better LT than Glenn, (2) the Glenn would be a permanent fixture at RT, or (3) it's a definite solution to the OL issues. It would simply mean (hypothetically) that--for a single season--moving Glenn over to the right side would get the best combination of 5 on the field. Why that's such a massive mystery to a few folks will never make sense to me.
  7. Right; it's obvious at this point he can't play full-time, or he'd be on a roster somewhere. The point wasn't to move Glenn; the point was that it was a one-year band-aid option to get the best combo of 5 on the field--it didn't materialize.
  8. Never saw anyone say that. I (and others) did say, however, that given how well he performed last year, it would be worth considering if the team's best combination of 5 OLmen would include Cyrus at LT and Glenn at RT.
  9. Which makes absolutely no sense since the team ran zone blocking 50% of the time last yaer
  10. If you're going to answer your own question then don't bother asking
  11. How has Gilmore not been nearly as good as Haden? I think you'll be pretty shocked if you compare their career performance
  12. You want to cut Miller, who was one of the most improved OLmen in the NFL last year, to start a guy that has never started a game at guard in the NFL?
  13. No surprise there...he's definitely gone next year if they don't. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see a team like GB or Dallas interested.
