  1. The number of times where Josh did that but ended the play with a pick is approaching double digits. He hates to give up on a play.
  2. He was so under utilized at Ole Miss that there is no way he could be even close to a finished ball catcher as a rookie. He has done well so far, imo, and will do more. If the offense makes a late season surge, he'll be part of the reason. He showed well against the Browns. Two balls he did not come up with were part on Josh and part on his not having his big body in quite the right position. He is learning fast and will be a tough matchup going forward.
  3. I have yet to rewatch it because there is only so much wallowing in the losing effort muck I can take but there were two Singletary plays on the last drive that seemed like he had a chance to do much more. The tipped ball on the screen pass that he luckily did not catch was botched because of him, imo. When he released into the pattern he did a flyby on the outside rusher instead of making a good attempt at a chip and then a roll into his route. That was the defender that barely got there in time to tip that pass. My impression was that there was lots of open space with blockers on the way. On the 6 yard play where he did not get out-of-bounds I was expecting to see to see him make a stop in a phone booth, shake the defender who had the angle on him, head upfield and then get out-of-bounds. Both those plays had some big potential. When the Cover1 stuff comes out maybe there will be a better look to confirm it.
  4. Both kicks looked like mishits to me compared to the Xpts he made going the same direction. Sort of like my tee shots, it's tough to know anything else about the attempt when the ball is struck poorly.
  5. I remembered that happening but I did not think it was that early in the 2018 season. I thought maybe it was the Lions game.
  6. Rivers looking helpless against pressure. Almost Bledsoe-like.
  7. WGR, One Bills Drive ran a poll last week about the "scariest" scenario for the Bills in the second half of the season. There was a choice about the run D, another about injuries and another that I can't remember. But, I voted for the option that said that the Bills passing offense failed to improve. If you believed as many did that 2019 is AAA, All About Allen, then to enter the 2020 offseason with widespread, legitimate doubt about his status within the organization sends them into the Trubusky/Mariota zone and that's a scarey place to be.
  8. I take every chance to say that Josh is getting very good at being Josh Allen-Bills QB. He understands his unique situation and wants to use the power it gives him to do good for others as do many other players. I also want to make the point that Josh is the same person whether he succeeds as "Buffalo Bills Franchise QB" or not. There is a tendency by some to rip players that have left this team with some degree of failure attached to their time here. It does not need to be that way and I think we as fans should separate the football player from the human being and not let our feelings about the former affect how we treat the latter.
  9. The other difference is that the box score numbers have no context and I would say that the context always matters.
  10. Given all their offensive challenges, their RedZone performance is not an accident. Daboll has to be doing something right.
  11. I saw it that way too. When you're so cool that words become unnecessary.
  12. Winning an offensive shootout is the box not yet checked. I think it will come on Thanksiving, Romo and Nance will be gushing like when they beat the Vikes last year and the lack of national respect we've been discussing will start to die.
  13. I think the Bills will be really excited to play that game. Way more than Dallas will be. Weather won't be a factor, the Dallas offense is good enough to mean the Bills will have to score more points and the Romo/Nance, Thanksgiving national audience will all combine to bring out the best in the Bills offense.
  14. Three o-lineman in front with no one there to block initially. Then they look for work and Feliciano finds his about 50 yards down field. They will have fun watching that one when they do their video review today.
  15. Yeldon vs Bengals. But I was talking about 5 lost of his 16 career. 16 may be concerning but with 11 recovered it doesn't seem like a big story to me.
  16. Based on what it would mean to the offense to establish viable deep threats to the passing game I'll go with Foster. I would not cite ball tracking on a blustery day or while looking into the sun as concerns.
  17. Win the game and show signs that the offense is ascending.
  18. Five fumbles lost so the impact is not so big.
  19. Steven Carlson signed to the 53 man roster off the Brown's practice squad today. I'd say they plan on playing him vs. the Broncos because he would be their 3rd tight end due to Pharaoh Brown in concussion protocol.
  20. This was pointed out awhile back that the question askers like it that way because they feel like it's "theirs." I have a hard time with that because it seems more like it's ultimately for the fans and hearing answers without the context of the questions is at the least, irritating.
  21. FO, 538 and Sagarin will all have them middle of the pack or worse until they beat some team they consider to be good. Of the remaining games on their schedule that's the Ravens, Cowboys and Patriots. Beating the other teams does not move the needle much. The Eagles loss hurt their ranking way more than beating any of the next 4 will help so it won't change much anytime soon. Go ahead and get to 9 and 2 or 8 and 3, let the offense improve and see where this thing goes. I suggest we just enjoy the ride. Bebe Rexha Sings About the Ride
  22. I left during the 8 minute drive after the Howard run for 15 or so. I felt confidant that a L was coming and I don't want to sit there and see my team fail. So, I missed the worst parts of his game and have a generally favorable opinion of how he played. 16/24 for 170 was not too bad in those challenging passing conditions. I also missed Josh's fumble because I was at a concession stand ordering a hot dog for my son and have yet to replay my DVR of the game. So, throw in that series of plays that got them fg shot at the end of the half and my eyes saw an A game from Josh.
  23. That 9 and 7 team really any better than Marrone's or this year's? I like where they sit and think they are trending up but, objectively, they have not achieved much beyond Whaley's teams yet. And, if Josh doesn't have the capacity to keep progressing, they probably won't.
  24. If you want to believe that McDermott's quote was a shot at Whaley then Schopp's point is fair. This Bills team has yet to distinguish itself beyond the teams Marrone and Ryan coached. Thus, the comment was taken as evidence of inappropriate feelings of superiority. I know, quite ironic.
  25. Needed 7 from Boswell to win this week so I appreciate the Fitz strip sack fumble.
