  1. Vancouver is a good example that becoming a good NHL team isnt splitting the atom. They play in Rick Tocchet's likeness and grind the other team to a pulp. They had 83 points last season and are like the best team in the NHL this year. The Sabres had 91 points, obsess about learning, growth and maximizing communications and tell us that "success is seldom linear", and predictably take a step backward.
  2. Im glad they arent giving the club holders first-dibs on the whole building at this point. I was worried that many/most would flood the seating areas, and by the time our turn came around, these un-wanted $40K PSL seats would be the only ones remaining. We are in the rockpile seats, but have been STH since 2004 I think. Probably decent seniority. Willing to stomach a reasonable PSL for a good vantage point
  3. There are certainly better ways to finance the $40K than an M&T loan for 10 years? My kids have plenty of organs I can sell.
  4. Russ Brandon disciple.
  5. "I don’t want my kid [Shedeur] going nowhere cold next year." Sooooo.... does that mean he wants him playing where it is cold?
  6. Im a fan of the Byram trade. The top 4-5 defensemen long-term can/should/will be a force. Losing Mittlestadt hurts (Reinhart was 10x worse IMO), but the Sabres have a glut of forwards in the near-term pipeline.
  7. Yes, parts of it is actually looking like a stadium at this point.
  8. I agree. He was a horrible punter here. Terrible punting is a pet peeve of mine. It should be something you barely notice. When you notice they are bad and they hurt the team it is infuriating.
  9. This was not the Bills' best chance. They were at a significant scheduling disadvantage and horrifically banged up on defense.
  10. In this context it is. Kevyn Adams gaslights the .500 thing (as he does in today's TBN interview) to imply that the Sabres are average and better than they are. It is a deception as they have the 8th-worst record in the league.
  11. this is the easiest and obvious answer. All games should be and need to be weighted the same. Imagine if a Jets/Dolphins game ended up being worth 1.5 wins in the standings because they went to overtime?
  12. There must be a misprint. Nobody signs in the NFC
  13. Cleveland Indians are the closest thing to a Buffalo sports team outside of Buffalo. NBA I'm not sure. Maybe toronto if I had to have a team
  14. .500 in hockey is not .500 as we have come to know it any other sport. Some games are worth more points, and more wins are awarded than losses (if you don't count the otl as losses) so the actual mean point amount in the league is higher. Right now only 7 of the 32 teams are .500 or below. .500 is not any sort of accomplishment by a franchise in year 13 of a rebuild. It is like being 7-10 in the nfl or losing 90 games.
  15. I was no Rob Johnson fan.. but he played a gritty game vs the titans.
  16. If Diggs and Miller didn't exist, and a cleaner cap outlook in general, I would be on board 100%. Evans will be 31 going into this season. A team will essentially need to pay out a lot of future dead/overpay cap for a few really good seasons
  17. I thought it was terrible. Unpopular opinion, but I thought the show was sloppy and unfulfilling for the final 4 seasons, while the first 2 seasons were fantastic and worthy of the acclaim the show receives. I only hung on through the finals seasons wondering what was going to happen at the conclusion. Then to see a blank screen made me feel like I got hit with a pie in the face. I hear all the breakdowns with how the perceptions changed in a certain order, and what Tony said earlier in the season and all... but that doesn't make me feel much better.
  18. He really wasn't my thing on the radio. Seemed like he was full of hot air and hot takes. Always negative for the sake of it, even when things were going OK. Had an army of people who felt the same. Didn't seem to really back his opinions up with anything substantiative, especially with hockey where he was clearly far out of his depth. But regardless, he was a personality forever engrained in our sports and sports media history here, and I commend him for that. RIP
  19. Based on where this franchise was, the age of the stadium, and location... 11th is pretty fantastic.
  20. Such a bizarre story. I dont even know what to think
  21. I guess it is a decent enough fit for all sides. So I guess there is an immediate need for a 14th football & hoops member. I wonder who would be a good fit. Army?
  22. I watched it last week actually for the first time. My 10 year old kid did too which was awesome. I thought it was pretty great. It framed the entire thing in a very positive light. It was pretty thorough for the length of the episode. It's crazy to look back on. I was 12 for wide right. It was a great ride
  23. Houston is going to be a major problem for the next 3 years.
