  1. I don't think he gives a 4 day window if he isn't reasonably comfortable he will get the deal he wants in Buffalo and his mind is made up.
  2. I havent been a basketball fan since the 80s, but I watched a bunch of the playoffs this year and dug it.
  3. the whole key is getting to the waiting list and creating a feeling of perpetual demand.
  4. you have to also take into account the Erie County/State party. Their goals were probably to cut their costs, increase Bills' costs, and also Make the lease as iron clad as possible for as long term as possible. I doubt they talked the Bills into having that out clause and making it a 10 year lease as opposed to 50. The Bills were likely Yanking in the other direction. Mr Wilson's passing couldn't have been timed better in terms of the life of that lease. Concrete on the foundations of the renovations wasn't even dried yet. I really don't think Brandon rode in on a white horse and saved the Bills in these negotiations. Mr Wilson/Littman did us a solid by signing off on the terms though. Now that we have owners hungry and committed to winning, I'm not so concerned with Brandon. Under Wilson's structure, he was certainly much more influential on the football product and was the front man publicly for everything which was a bad look for skeptics like me. I dont want to hear him on WGR talking about NFL strategies going forward and how they want to build the team, etc... Now there is a perception that he is truly the business man. That I can tolerate. Like I said though. I have trouble forgiving him for the Toronto series... and also his explanation that it was on us fans for the inability to sell out games/our market here was exhausted.
  5. he told us we cant sell out December games
  6. Im not sure now how Mr Jovi was specifically planning on relocating the Bills. Maybe. You would have to think old man Rogers had an idea of buying them when Ralph passed during that first Toronto contract.... His son? I dont know, it seems complicated there. Lieweke? Maybe. I wonder if him, Tannebaum, and Bon Jovi were just looking out for any opportunity or specifically Buffalo. The way Lieweke resigned after the Bills are secure gives me pause. It just didnt feel like their bidding was all that serious. Like they were doing a favor for future considerations from the NFL... and the real effort will begin when new expansion talk starts and Toronto will compete with St Louis and whoever else. But if Terry Pegula didnt storm the scene in 2011 and/or Mr Wilson didnt pass with impeccable timing.... who knows?
  7. HHH was pretty good back in the day. Mick Foley too. I always thought the Rock's schtick was too boring and predictable. His finishing moves were also puzzling. Didn't think he took as many risks as other guys either. I didn't watch though in his 'rise'. I watched from like 99 - 04. Also catch it once in awhile for S&G. It seems to me that they are running on fumes. 3 hours for Raw is a bad idea. The personalities are bleh. The one guy who was worth a damn doesnt want anything to do with it (CM Punk).
  8. The guy publicly sold us short. In a time we felt like our region had a tenuous hold on the team. Ill never forgive him for that. Now ticket sales are proving hum and his Slap in the face narrative wrong. The Toronto series is a black eye for me. I am glad he seems to have been relegated to the background out of the public eye.
  9. Brought my toddler 8nto Canada a few times with a birth certificate no problem
  10. I have little fear that he is staying (even if he does, it isnt the end of the world)... The way he is talking like a decision will be made quickly points to him going pro. He is also getting a nice taste of the NHL with the combine and the trip to the finals... then the draft hype, and Im sure he will be immediately either A: Brought to the Pegula compound and/or B: brought into Buffalo. The "indecision" is just due diligence/agent advice to leave the door open for contractual issues and a roster spot in the NHL. The Sabres wont try to mess around with him. He's a Sabre in 2015-16
  11. I have said it before. With the way the ticket market is now, this team shows a glimmer of real hope and tickets will be gone. Our fan base is too strong. Add in the bandwagoners and the secondary market and its going to be pricey to get in the building before long. Blackouts and Toronto games are not a factor. If we sniff the excitement of a Division title and a home playoff game.... Ill be glad Im on this side of owning season tickets. As far as Stubhub goes... It is kind of a necessary evil, especially for small market teams with good fan bases. It is why the Sabres have had a waiting list for close to a decade. It will be what causes the Bills to start and maintain a waiting list.
  12. I think we dodged a bullet with that Babcock contract. If Bylsma isnt working out in 2-3 years he will be fireable. Babcock wouldnt. That would mean that rash decisions would be made to the roster and/or it would just get stale. We went through that with Ruff for almost a decade.
  13. he was awful on corner. the instant mckelvin got hurt, that Miami game turned for the worse and Tannehill threw at Graham every time.
  14. This league is an insatiable monster. Things like the Pro Bowl and NFL Draft can often pull better ratings than World Series games. The league has firmly woven its way into American pop culture and it isnt going anywhere for a long while. They have succeeded in making league events nearly year-round... yet the schedule is small enough where nearly every game is important. It is perfect for gambling, pools, fantasy football, etc and that has permeated through nearly everyone in our society. They have extremely intelligent people at the helm. The main threat to the NFL is the long-term. Players are beginning to willingly walk away early. Parents will not let their children play football. The player pool will dry up, but to what degree? All the litigation, long term health effects, etc... Also, the landscape of NCAA football is undergoing some major transformations that will undoubtedly change the landscape a bit for the NFL. My guess is that the NFL will be a beast for at least 15-20 more years.
  15. Not a big fan of the international games... but it is cool the bills are playing in london... especially since we don't lose a home game. But I don't see the nfl ever really gaining a foothold outside the usa other than maybe Canada and mexico. People just really don't play as American football everywhere. Now with how much is coming out about players' health and major injuries, youth participation is likely going to trend downward, even here. hockey is played widely in europe... but despite a desire, the nhl hasn't been able to make any strides toward expanding overseas. American football is such a strange animal. It's something that if a group of friends start a game... it resembleS little of the actual sport played on an organized level. I think that hurts it's growth in foreign lands too.
  16. I dig the list for the most part. I would have the dolphins very close to the bottom. I also never liked the patriots uniforms, bottom 5 for me. He also love underrates the jets imo.
  17. There is no GM... Brendan Shanahan who doesnt seem to have any experience, education, or clue has been running the show as a GM. Making moves a GM would make.... but hasnt hired a GM... and decided to give the keys to the car to a coach with no GM input Here is a great column on the situation http://www.thehockeynews.com/blog/good-luck-with-the-maple-leafs-mike-babcock-youre-going-to-need-it/
  18. its tough to determine looking like that. I think it would be better if he stratified players into 3 groups, like Locks, bubble, need to show something.
  19. This is dead on. Nobody has been able to tame the situation there in almost 50 years... especially since the cap is in place. Babcock is a great coach and knows how to inspire and has seen many situations... but this will be like nothing he has done.
  20. I think the Leafs needed a major shakeup by allowing Babcock to come in and get the contract and power to be the most powerful guy there.... although I think Shanahan is an uneducated fool. If they try to fast lane the rebuild too, this will just be another disaster. The Sabres did/do not need the shakeup. They have direction. They need a good coach. Not a guy with an un-fireable long term contract and Co-GM powers. We have a great rebuild going on. I dont think its necessary to put all the eggs into one basket like that.
  21. THE WINDOW IS CLOSING. WE NEED TO GET THE BEST COACH OUT THERE. DION ISNT GETTING ANY YOUNGER.
  22. Toronto. What a joke. Bad contracts, a team who completely quit, entitled spoiled problem 'stars', no cupboard whatsoever, no GM or plan... changing draft lottery procedure. Babcock needs players to win. Typical Toronto move. Fooling themselves and their fanbase into thinking they are contenders since 1967
  23. Why do people have to put "gate" at the end of everything?
