  1. This is one of the two, now 3 huge MAC games this season. Toledo did just lose to Eastern Michigan. First MACtion game against Miami of Ohio is big (home game) Ohio game a couple weeks later could be for the Division title No excuse to lose to Kent of BGSU
  2. It doesnt seem like anything is salvageable there
  3. Peterman experience has got to be done for all times, no?
  4. I also think in TO's time, TO was truly unique and would/could change a team/game drastically. There was TO, Randy Moss sometimes, and Chad Johnson for a time. Is there that much of a delta between Beckham and a mass of other receivers?
  5. i thought they were crazy for not trading him. Could have traded him, drafted a QB and/or traded down for another bounty, and you have a turnkey ready rebuild off and running. I think they worst thing they could have done was back up the brinx truck to that spoiled brat, draft a running back 2nd overall in a draft that featured 2-4 franchise QB candidates, and try to get players to make a run.
  6. This is accurate. While there is still a little room to grow in the US market... International is largely untapped money that would/could take the league to the next level
  7. I dont think they blew it so much as fell victim to a perfect storm of sorts. It started with Ted Rogers passing away. It was his goal to bring the NFL to Toronto and he made a deal with Wilson to dip their toes in the water. He expected people to be rabid about the games, planting the flag for their own team, and pricing was too high, which kept people away, bad press, etc. Not to mention the SkyDome is a drab facility. I have little doubt that if Toronto had their own team, it would have been well attended. The deal fizzled a bit, they gave back the preseason games as well as their need for a Divisional, or at least 'interesting' match up. The Bills stunk, keeping out relevancy as well as Bills fans. Meanwhile, we had a multi-billionaire sports fan with local ties burst onto the scene in 2010-2011. Then, we had a new lease with a strong NRA. Before the paint was even dry on the stadium improvements Mr. Wilson passed away, putting the team up for auction. With several years remaining on the lease. Outside bidders had a bad deal with the NRA. Would need a new stadium $, plus relocation fee $, plus the purchase of the team $, plus possible $500 million and/or legal fees, along with some pretty ugly lame-duck seasons in Buffalo. Would be a horrible investment and probably would more than double the purchase price. Rogers has enough money, but since his passing, his family, as I understand it has fragmented a bit and a lot of the money is locked up a bit, and some in dispute. The Rogers Communications Company had recently made a splash with a $5.2 Billion dollar NHL deal (announced like 4 months before Mr. Wilson passed away) that was already looking like a poor investment. MLSE and Bon Jovi did not have the loot to compete with Pegula, plus have enough to cover the additional cost of a relocation and facilities. No matter how badly the NFL probably would rather the Bills play in Toronto, there was no possible way to do so.
  8. Athletes pay taxes wherever their games are played. They need to file in numerous states. I wonder how complicated that is when crossing over internationally. IMO they should poop or get off the pot with this. The "the bike will be both of ours, we'll just keep it at my house" thing is silly and a way to stunt the growth of the fanbase on both ends. 4 games and 4 games is an awful idea
  9. the Patriots Because the Bills' success, the rust belt became very fashionable once again, and steel plants and industry thrived. It melted the ice caps quicker than imagined and a northern atlantic hurricane wiped out Boston I guess Im kind of glad that ball didnt come out.
  10. It would have resulted in a bills win. They would have won another too. Tom brady would never have decided to take up football. The bills would have hit the bottom after polian resigned in the late 90s, but it would have been good timing as they would have picked payton manning with their pick. Running the table in the afc north for almost 2 decades, and winning 3 more superbowls vs green bay, detroit, and montreal.
  11. Acl and mcl. Non contact injury playing baseball. Was playing 3rd, got a runner in a run down between 3rd and home. Chased him down. He fell to the ground to try to avoid the tag or something. Guy broke from 1st to second. Applied the tag in stride, pivoted to throw to 2nd. Knee completely buckled under my weight/momentum. It sucked
  12. me too. Without even thinking. I might even throw in a 6th and 7th to make it happen
  13. The next couple years is critical in truly grading the Pegulas (on the field). The playoff berth was nice, but it was kind of the continuation of the same mediocre team. Eventually, odds were things would break in their favor and one of those 9-7 finishes would lasso a playoff spot (and impending 1st round execution). But they have put in their administration now, with no legacy held over from previous ownership (besides overdorf and I doubt he is controlling anything of consequence). We will see where this ends up. McDermott and Beane look promising in some ways, concerning in others. Come early 2020, I think it will be clear how this all went. The Bills will be either an emerging franchise, or a team with a lot of bad signings, stuck in the bottom third of the league, and again in need of culling a lot of bad dollars spent.... and still in need of a QB.... and probably joining the Gm/HC derby once again. The same thing with the Sabres. This whole rebuild after the rebuild has a limited shelf like as well, and it seems they will have some dollars and players entering their prime on time for the 2020-2021 season. If things arent better by then. By better, we are talking a solid playoff team, clear of the bottom third of the NHL. If not, we are looking at a full decade of ownership with nothing but disastrous. If both rebuilds work for the franchises (or even 1 of them), well, there is nothing to really criticize.
  14. I was thinking the other day about this show (I bailed in season 4). It would have been much better if it were done as a season to season 'anthology' type of series that dealt with a number of different locations and timelines surrounding the 'outbreak'. Certain things could intertwine. Some effort could be made in some seasons toward identifying the origin of the disease or whatever... and also a possible solution/hope. the ongoing 'drama' marathon doesnt work for a zombie story.
  15. Past history. Does not matter The bills did intentionally make an art form of muddying up accountability for this reason
  16. He is such an inspiration. Amazing to see how far he has come since the miami days. Trials that would consume most people just seems to make the guy better.
  17. There is an active plan to rebuild seattle center
  18. I think the entertainment dollars here are stretched thin with the sabres. I think they would need to depend on the same exact people who currently plop down $2-$5k on sabres tickets, to plop down the same amount, for 41 more dates, in the same season. I do think it would get very strong support in Rochester. Imo an mlb team would be better supported (than nba) because it is opposite season, and people like to be outside in buffalo in the summer.
  19. you can make a case that the Bills could have a supporting cast for Mahomes, taking over this year from Tyrod of: Cordy Glenn, Dawkins, Watkins, Calvin Ridley, McCoy. Thats not awful. They could have kept Darby and not donked him off for Matthews (because they wouldnt have White). In any case, losing the pro bowl caliber G and C due to health is a gut punch and tough to recover from. Jury is still out, and likely will be out until the conclusion of next season. If not, the first half of the 2020 season. The one thing that continues to plague my thoughts is the apparent lack of a coherent plan to bring Allen along, and/or surround him with some sort of veteran presence.
  20. If i had to do anything, i would build a time machine and force russ brandon to offer money and organizational control to andy reid. Instead, they did one of their half step shuffles. Whaley moved from agm to gm, and brandon became no stone unturned guy.
  21. I like jeremy white for the most part... but cant take the recent talk about his golf game. I cant stand listening to anyone talking about their golf game.
  22. Word I wanted to go, but its my daughters birthday. Gotta go pumpkin picking. Dvring the game, but probably checking the score anyways
  23. Not all in until you get a face tattoo
