  1. I think he is good. He seems like a great leader. Im not completely bullish on him, but looking forward to see how far he can take them with a capable offense. They overachieved in 2017, and again in 2018. I thought 4 or 5 wins going in, and 0-3 wins after the first 2 weeks.
  2. No more notre dame in the tournament until they join a conference. Waste of a slot. Its like the movie great white hype until they get their clocks cleaned. Strategic scheduling wont fluke them a national championship.
  3. Any year now they will figure out what they got with tannehill. He will be an old man by then
  4. I think next year is his last year. I predict he will take a step back, as will the pats. The team will see the writing on the wall and not be in a hurry to give a new contract at a rate that is greater than the player's current value. They will also be serious about getting a 22 year old playmaking qb who will/would give brady serious competition. Brady doesnt want to be benched, and likely knows he would be humbled without belichick and in his 40s playing for the Broncos or raiders.
  5. Brady looks shakier than he ever has. He may be hurt, but hurt is part of getting old and not getting hurt was part of bradys mystique. At 40, injuries are chronic, dont heal, and compound. Add all the extra rehab work to a guy who already seemingly had a foot out the door, and i dont know.
  6. It puts a strain on a friendship, depending on how pushy the "sales rep" I mean business "owner" is, and how their personality is. Some expect their friends and family to be supportive of "their" business, and anything less than hosting parties and/or regularly buying crap is not supporting a friend/family member.
  7. Another one are these "parties". Like that 31 club for women or whatever its called My wife has a friend in this that is always hounding her to gather her family members for a "31 party" so they can sit there on their free time and feel uncomfortable/pressured to by cheap and ugly crap.
  8. I was expecting this. I was a bit freaked out when they were playing like one of the worst teams ever, but morphed into what i expected. I think they are on the right track, and the past 2 seasons were transition years (playoff run was an unexpected and unplanned fluke). This offseason we will hopefully really see it start to take form
  9. My morale as a Bills fan was probably at an all-time low Week 2 in 2016 watching Garoppolo look like Peyton Manning circa 1999
  10. I feel guardedly optimistic about the future, which starts in 2019.
  11. I know a guy who got in on Beachbody and has carved himself a pretty good career.... but he is basically a glorified sales rep who needs to dedicate a social media presence blending his person with the products. On the other hand, I know dozens of people who have done that and have gotten nowhere fast.
  12. Andre Tippett, Irving Fryar, Stanley Morgan, Tony Eason, Steve Grogan, John Stephens
  13. beating Colts/Ravens/Titans at home, then the Texans on the road is a real possibility, if not probability. Then, if the Chiefs (who havent looked stellar lately) get upset, New England magically hosts another AFC Championship game If the Patriots lose one and the Steelers can pass them, their road gets a bit tougher as they would have to play the Chargers (probably) in round 1, and then have to travel to KC.... and their chances of hosting the AFCC would rely on Colts/Ravens/Titans winning through.
  14. I agree with this. Part of being a sports fan is deprivation. Without deprivation, its just fake. I feel like the Detroit Red Wings' 20+ years of success did long term damage to their fan-base. That fan base will be an interesting case-study if that franchise has some lean years. Who would there would/could get excited if they are merely in a wild card chase near .500? Or even 4-7 playing out the stretch and searching for positive signs? These people have almost been defaulted into the Divisional Round and AFCC for like 18 years. It is going to be very hard for fans of the Patriots to find 'joy' other than hollowly using "their" rings as a trump card in any debate I want a sucessful and world class organization. However, perpetual success at that extreme I think would de-sensitize me and the rest of the fan base.
  15. Sal seems like a nice guy, and he has passion for what he does. Cant hate that. Im not a big fan of him on the radio in large doses. He speaks quickly, and when he disagrees with someone he speaks loudly into the microphone which comes across poorly. He as also shies away from being critical of anyone, but i understand his position with the bills/wgr. The entire station let up on the bills 100% when they regained broadcast rights. Through the sabres' tank to get eichel, sal was against it and would yell some terrible takes into his microphone. I also couldnt care less about syracuse sports or the yankees I think he is popular because he is a likeable guy, enjoys what he is doing, and he has a positive outlook which makes fans more comfortable. Its been a long era of negativity, most of it has been earned, but everyone is a bit fatigued by it
  16. what "high quality" coaches are they going to get? How is the pay going to be? Sounds like a dead end.
  17. They have had their share of glory and I wont feel bad for them if they go out with a whimper. It is very hard to win Superbowls, just ask Jim Kelly, Marino, Rivers, etc. B or B could have walked off after the Atlanta Superbowl and chose not to. No matter what Belichick will be firmly established in the Mt Rushmore of NFL head coaches, if not, on the very top. Brady will always been in the best QB convo. They have been very fortunate to reside in the AFC Least with a waltz to a relatively uncontested 4-6 wins to pocket and provide the inside track to a 1st round bye and a home field throughout, which they leverage into AFCC appearances and beyond.
  18. Definitely reluctant to call them "done", as I would be weary about Belichick re-tooling, but they do not look good at all, and some of their key pieces are aging/aged. In a game like yesterday (like last year's PIT game), Brady can just keep chucking it to Gronkowski and bust them through. It doesnt seem like that is an option any more. The Pats have eroded in too many areas and lack top-end goods to overcome deficiencies. If they were in any other Division, they would not even be a wild card team. If Belichick retires this offseason, the Pats run is 'done'.
  19. Eddie Murphy Adam Sandler Steve Martin Chris Farley
  20. this would probably sound like steaming hot diarrhea, but here: Lead Singer - Lane Staley Rhythm Guitar- Johnny Ramone Lead Guitar (x2)- Stevie Ray Vaughan, Mike McCready Bass Guitar- Les Claypool Drums/Percussion- Stewart Copeland Piano- Ray Charles Lyricist- Bob Dylan Musical Composer- Roger Waters Producer- Butch Vig
  21. That Raiders game comes to mind as my main vivid norwood memory post xxv. I remember flipping to the sabres game immediately after the game and that was when they had the near bench clear vs calgary. And no. I remember no protests against moving on to christie. In fact, i used to listen to talk radio daily and dont remember this being a thing at all.
  22. Yeah. Ive had it before and its just a fast food joint
  23. So they can preserve their cash cow solo television deal and not be "forced" to go in with the rest of a conference. It also gives them more leeway for their tactful scheduling.
