  1. I agree with others who have said we have way more problems, particularly at linebacker, than Poz, but to say Poz is a great player is laughable. He is mediocre. Unfortunately because he is surrounded by guys who are not even mediocre, he is exposed. We need good players covering for his mediocrity. And as we all agree on...we don't have many of them.
  2. A couple of problems with your post, Bill. TO is who we thought he was. I don't blame him one bit for complaining late in the game at those simply awful throws by our lousy quarterback. Is he a POS for having that sort of body language? Of course. But if this comes to a surprise to anyone, I welcome you from the coma you've been in the last decade. Again, I don't defend anything he does, but quite honestly, TO hasn't been near as bad as I figured he'd be, especially considering our struggles. Don't quit? Don't quit?! Quit on what, exactly? Quit subjecting ourselves to the misery that this football team brings us each week? I wouldn't think of it. But I've stopped caring as much, that's for sure. No more getting worked up about every blown call, missed tackle, blown coverage, poor throw, turnover and penalty. Life's too short to get too invested in this crap. That's exactly what this organization is...crap.
  3. The NCAA oversees 88 collegiate championships. Division I football is not one of them, although it does oversee FCS (formerly I-AA), Division II and Division III championships...all of which have a playoff system in place. The BCS is a separate entity.
  4. The NCAA does not run Division I football and therefore can't set up a playoff system. Oh, and the basketball tournament is 65 teams, not 64. Just wanted to make that small correction.
  5. For what it's worth, I was a Verizon customer for years but switched to AT&T a few months ago because I wanted the Iphone. I worried about not having the great coverage that Verizon has because I travel a lot and need good coverage. Thankfully, I haven't had any issues with the Iphone or AT&T, whether I've been in New York City, Chicago, Houston, Atlanta, Myrtle Beach, Little Rock or wide open spaces in between.
  6. Um...we traded Wilson Betemit. I kid, I kid.
  7. Sorry, but you can't blame 17 consecutive losing seasons on payroll. Try a completely inept organization that constantly trades young guys like the three you mentioned, not to mention Jack Wilson, Nady, McClouth, LaRoche, etc., etc., etc. and doesn't get enough in return. To suggest that's the fault of anyone or anything other than lousy GMs and scouts is nuts. Like I said earlier, the Yankees (and other teams) have advantages that teams like the Pirates don't. I don't argue that point. But Pittsburgh is no different than Minnesota, for example, and they field a competitive team more times than not. The only injustice with the Yankees is if they took all that money they have and DIDN'T invest in talent to fill holes on their team.
  8. And another thing to this whole ridiculous notion that the Yankees buy championships (as if it were that simple): A-Rod was acquired in a trade, after Boston got cold feet and backed out of a trade with Texas. So the Rangers went to the Yankees to get out from under the monster contract that TEXAS (not New York) gave Alex. Swisher, Hairston, Marte and Gaudin were all acquired via trades in ho-hum deals that any team could have made. Guzman and Molina were ho-hum free agent pickups. Matsui could have been had by anyone. Damon signed with the Yankees after being low-balled by the Red Sox. Both players have been with the Yankees for a long period of time. This offseason, AJ was signed to take over for a retiring Mike Mussina. Teixiera was signed to take over for a departing Abreu (bat, spot in the order) and Giambi (field). Clearly those were expensive upgrades but they were moves the Yankees had to make to improve their team. And obviously CC was an expensive addition. That's three high-priced free agents that the Yankees were able to throw their money at in order to secure them. As for the rest of the current 25-man roster (Posado, Cano, Jeter, Melky, Pettitte, Rivera, Hughes, Joba, Gardner, Cervelli, Coke, Robertson, and Aceves), they are all original Yankees. Do the Yankees have certain financial advantages? Absolutely. But it only seems to matter to Yankee haters when they win. Like someone said, it's an excuse people keep in their pocket to make themselves feel better. I don't know if the Yankees will get to the World Series, or if they will win the World Series. But as someone who watches most games, I know this team (unlike many others in recent years) play the game the right way and the make up of this team is better than it has been in years.
  9. Well I didn't post anything, publicly doubting your prediction. But I will admit that when I read your post earlier in the week, I thought you had eaten way too many retard sandwiches.
  10. This win had FAR more to do with the other team's quarterback than our own.
  11. The team plane didn't crash on the way back from New England or Miami.
  12. Thanks for the laugh on an otherwise crappy day. The offense will be there Sunday? HA HA HA!! If the Jets' defense stayed on the sidelines during our first series, I'm not convinced we would score a touchdown.
  13. That was a remarkable game...a classic in every sense. I only feel bad for my friend (a Tigers fan) who was on a plane for NYC at 8 a.m. this morning, thinking he was going to scalp a ticket to Game 1 of the Tigers-Yankees ALDS. Ouch. His consolation prize...he is going to see Springsteen tomorrow night.
  14. How bad do we suck? I turned the channel to watch the last 57 seconds of a WBNA game. That was the first 57 seconds of a WNBA game I've ever watched.
  15. And yet Shanahan's name is one that repeatedly comes up on many people's wish list... Guy didn't win jack when Elway wasn't his quarterback. And he was outcoached by Jauron late last year as the Broncos pulled off a choke for the ages. But yes, I'd still rather have him over DJ. At this point, I'd rather have Elmo coach this team.
  16. Fug the Bills, go see The Notebook.
  17. I don't know if hate is the right word, in my case. I know what you mean though. For me, I think it's a case of just becoming numb to this organization. They have taken the fun out of football Sundays.
  18. I went to the Colts game today and watched a great team. Organized. Playing with passion and with a purpose, even with a first-year coach. Getting contributions from rookies. Dominating on both sides of the ball. Came home, watched a handful of plays of our game, and just gave up....for the season. I'll watch if we fire Jauron, just to see if a new coach can light some sort of fire into this sorry pathetic bunch. I knew this season was a lost cause, but I'm with you Simon...I thought we would get to the midway point of the season before it turned this sour.
  19. Honestly, I don't know any game that I feel like we "should" win. Could win, yeah. But there's no such thing as a "should" win with this team, is there?
  20. No thanks. Improvement over DJ? Of course. But there are many available, qualified coaches out there right now. Not that we will have the balls to go after one of them. I figure our next head coach will be Rich Kotite.
  21. Actually, that wasn't my point at all. I didn't suggest in my post that Ralph should "higher" anyone. But since you mentioned it, he could do a lot worse than Dungy.
  22. Only a damn fool would hate Tony Dungy. You don't think he is a good coach? You don't agree with his views on football, religion or anything else? Fine. Whatever. But to hate a good, genuine, caring man (who by the way can also coach the game, but that is besides the point) is nothing short of foolish. If you have ever spent 30 seconds around the man, you would know what I'm talking about.
  23. Two weeks after one Bills player had a vulgarity painted on his lawn, and a week after another player had $400,000 worth of jewelry stolen from his home, another Buffalo fan expresses his frustration by crashing through the convenient store that Dick Jauron should be working at instead of coaching football.
  24. Cry over what? If you know the ending, what is there to be upset about? No one on this board actually thought we were going to win the game, did they? Have you not been paying attention? Why would tonight have been any different, especially against that team in that stadium, on MNF, on national television, with Brady returning, with the Pats' celebration of their all-time team, in the season opener? What made anyone think we were going to win that game, regardless of the score with five minutes left. I'm actually ashamed of myself for predicting a blowout win for the Pats. If these teams played again Sunday, we would lose 44-3. But with the Monday night, national TV thing, it only stood to reason that this bunch of losers would find a way to pull off yet another loss that should only shock those of you who clearly are not paying attention.
  25. The 2009 Buffalo Bills: Something to watch before the playoffs start.
