  1. Don't know about the Super Bowl, but, yes agreed that the #2 receiver is the last weak spot. If one of the young guys can step up or if Buddy finds a trading partner for a #2 receiver that is to good to pass on (I haven't read anything about such a trade possibility), our Offense takes another leap forward and becomes much more difficult to deal with.
  2. Fitz was nailing it last year before key injuries decimated the offense - Fred Jackson, Eric Wood, Revolving WR 2 Door. We were headed to the playoffs before all of these injuries. And if you remove injuries from the conversation, The Bills were still one play from winning multiple games - Bengals, GMEN and JETS (in NY). Should have made playoffs last season Fitz is more than fine. Playoffs this year.
  3. Modrak wasn't perfect, but he wasn't the total issue. Modrak getting over ruled time and time again by Levy then Jauron was the bigger issue. The time during which Levy was GM and Jauron coach (who also had a say in personnel moves) crippled the franchise and only last year and even more this year have the Bills been able to truly rebound personnel wise from those two.
  4. Got a love it. All the Bills needed was that marque, cornerstone free agent in Mario Williams. Singing Mario and having Mario lend credibility to what Buffalo is and what is has to offer is now having a positive / closing (so to speak) effect on Free Agents who would not have even visited Buffalo. Good job Bills on landing Mark Anderson!
  5. No. In all honestly, Dareus made a name for himself in the National Championship game vs Texas and that elevated him. i get that it is tough to make an impact with average at best lineman around him. But I did expect to see more, most definitely.
  6. Agreed. he has not produced like a #3 pick should.
  7. Chan and the entire coaching staff was clearly out coached. After reviewing the tape, I don't think the Jets, to a team, are 18 points superior to the Bills. However, when you have a game plan (Bills) that is counteracted for the majority of the game by the other team and their play calling (Jets), you will lose and lose badly. Not taking anything away form the Jets because they would have beaten any team on Sunday. The Jets play calling for most of the game on both offense and defense was close to perfect. That doesn't happen to often to a team led by Chan. I am very confident that the rematch will be a different story in 3 weeks. Not to say the Bills will go in to NY and win. But the game will be much more competitive, a much tighter see saw battle.
  8. This topic really relevant heading in to week 8?
  9. Hey folks, I am glad we are revisiting the payment topic. In pre season and during the early weeks, a number of folks and journalists hammered the Bills for not spending. Well, thank goodness the money wasn't spent yet. We have talked about this a number of times. We start winning and playing good, the list of Bills to be extended or resigned get's lengthy, especially with a number of folks who are playing at All Pro Level. You hit them all with your list. 10. Talent for talent, pure technique, nasty side.......AGREED. No question. E Wood is the leader of the bunch. But Andy Levitre is the best out of the group, no question.
  11. Me personally, I went in to each season projecting the Bills would overachieve and beat expectations while the Sabres would underachieve and miss on expectations set because of the off season free agent signings. Regarding the Bills - I looked at the schedule and said 9 - 7 was doable, because I saw 9 winnable games (not the Pat's or Eagles mind you). If the Bills sweep the rest of their home games, that equates to 9 wins. Regarding the Sabres, I live in Philly and was very surprised that we signed Ville Leino and for so much crazy money. He has been close to invisible to start the season. It was no mystery that he was not a favorite of Laviolette and I predict he will hit Lindy's dog house soon. I wasn't sure about Regehr and that is because I didn't see a lot of his play when he was in Calgary. He looks to be solid and is justifying his $4M hit. In addition, I thinks folks have forgotten that the Sabres needed the strong late season push just to make the playoffs. Enroth saved (literally) our season late last year. The best move of the off season was signing Erhoff, no question.
  12. No Maybin is not 24,he is 23. When the Bills drafted Maybin, he just has turned 21 years old. His age when we drafted him + using the 11 pick overall (which was way to high obviously) + two D coordinators in two years, are a few reason why Maybin struggled here. I am not sticking up for Maybin, it just didn't work out here in Buffalo for him. Looks like Ryan has found a way to use his speed.
  13. Agreed. 10-6 or 11-5 is on par with what we should expect. Looking at our two losses on the road - Bengals, GMEN, looks like these losses are going to end up being close games to very good teams. Bengals will probably knock Pitt out of Playoff contention.
  14. thesaurus.com.........HA. Agreed! I love that. Good one!
  15. I understand what you intending with your post. The big point however, is the Bills are pulling out these games. These close wins win carry us for the rest of the season. How far they carry us, well, lot of football to still be played. Winning close, while the team is still figuring things out, is huge. My opinion, this is a sign of much better things to come.
  16. In the spirit of the book Moneyball (great book so far) and all of the statistics that folks have come up with, just realized something here about a good portion of our upcoming schedule. The following teams blitz A LOT - Eagles, Skins, Jets x2, Cowboys, Dolphins x2, Titans (Jerry Gray. Fitz and the Offense fairs very, very well against the blitz. We will be at an advantage in these games because of Fitzy and Wood identifying blitzes and blitz pick up. Add in Denver at home and the prospect of 10 wins is not our of the realm of truly possible.
  17. Skins still need to show more than what they have shown. Rex Grossman? Not quite there yet in thinking he can be answer for 16 games. Still on fence with Titans. i think Baltimore would have lost to close to anyone, except Miami / Chiefs / Vikings, that second week after their emotional season opening butt whipping of the Steelers. Agree - we win out at home + Miami on the road and 10 wins should get the Bills in. Truth be told - Dallas / GMEN / JETS away really don't scare me either.
  18. Agree. I think Hairston will do just fine. Trent Cole will be out for the Eagles. Babin....really not to worried about him. What will be key is how Wood handles Blitz protections. I see this etting up as a Bills win. Oh, Jason Peters is out for Philly so we might finally see some sort of pass rush.
  19. AGREE. And this week, you can bet Chan Gailey is going to kick some major butt in practice as well.
