  1. Regardless of CJ, Freddy's pay day is coming soon. Bills will not allow him to walk. He will be a Bill for life.
  2. Agree with your points in this response. Losing Koppen will have an effect, but Conneley came in and after a rough couple a series settled right in for the PAT's. The push up the middle ny Williams and Dareus I believe will be a factor for our Defense as well. PAT's did a nice job of no huddling and wearing out Miami D. You could just see how gassed the starting 11 all were. It was almost unfair. I said it Sunday night, for fans who like trench warfare, Sunday's match up with the Raiders is going to enjoyable. Sure the Raiders had a lot of rushes last night, but Denver's front 7 is very small. Buffalo will do a much better job of manning up both on the O and D Lines. Will be very, very physical with some injuries to both teams probably happening. To the host of this board's comment that the Bills are not equiped to match up with the PAT's. I only think maybe 2 - 3 teams in this league are - Jets, Eagles, maybe Chicago. Doesn't mean that the PAT's will have to go through the Jets for the Super Bowl, or maybe meet the Eagles or Bears in the Super Bowl. Just means I think these three teams have the best chance to match up vs. the PAT's offense. Besides the PAT's offense last night, another big concern is how effective Haynesworth and Wilfork became as the game wore on. OH BOY!
  3. You are correct. And this board is really silly to think that the run defense was not awesome yesterday.
  4. Realize this. You can either be very, very sharp and crisp in a blowout or be very sloppy in a blow out. Yesterday's ballgame, the Bills were sharp, crisp, very focused, you name it, all good signs of a good team. I don't know what everyone else saw of the starts in preseason, but outside the Denver game, one they didn't game plan for, I saw the sharpness and crispness. That is most promising and this is a sign of better things to come. Regards to Oakland coming in Sunday, for football fans who like warfare in the trenches, Sunday's game will serve a great dish of very physical O and D line play. Oakland's O and D line's are big and physical and will be a great test for our young guys on both sides. Will be another fun game. But as another stadium waller put it, Oakland has to fly cross country after a late Monday nighter.
  5. Another encouraging thing from today - in the 4th, Chiefs have it 4th and 4. Our young stud / soon to be ultra dominant DE Dareus jumps off sides to give Chiefs first down. Coach Gailey sat him for a few plays after that. Message - "Stay focused son or you will get benched like everyone else."
  6. I understand your view on the 6.0 per run by the Chiefs. But that stat is a not indicative of the game or the situations. i think the Chiefs broke off like two draw plays for about 20 yards per at heading to the end of the 2nd quarter. You could think o those draw plays as kinda pass plays if that makes any sense. The bills were up by 3 scores and sat back in D. The rush D today was super solid. Very disciplined in each of the player assignments and very very physical at the line of scrimmage / point of attack. Very promising run D and a good sign of better things to come.
  7. I called in and the issues were on the HD side, actually serious engineering issues. Non HD I was fine. i think the issues with HD also affected streaming to the PC. i did get a 430.00 refund. Cal in and get some.
  8. Most encouraging things from today - 1.) Both lines - O and D, 2.) tackling on D and Special teams, 3.) Playing calling and blitz recognition. Outstanding performance today and a sign of better things to come.
  9. Or maybe, just maybe, the awful contracts and player signings of the very dark era called Marv Levy as GM have finally been removed from the books. Say what you want that Ralph wont spend. When Donahoe and Levy where running the show, the Bills were in the upper half of the league in contracts. They just spent the money on the wrong players and drafted piss poorly. Mark this down - in the next year, the Bills Salary total is going to increase significantly because of resigning - S Johnson, R Parrish, E Wood, A Levitre and possibly R Fitzpatrick, and the team gross profits will decrease a bit.
  10. 20 - 10 WAGONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (See Boomers new favorite Jersey on ESPN )
  11. Yeah I saw this to. AWESOME!. Bills 22 - Chefs 19. I like to the Bills to hit 9 - 7 this year!
  12. Folks need to understand that Modrak was not and has not been the problem with the Bills lack or talent or just being wrong about what players are on this team. I actually hope that Nix and Modrak work out a relationship and TM stays on. Modrak is an excellent college player evaluator. He has a large amount of college football personal relationships in place that he leans on when recommending to his (TM's) management players the Bills should draft or sign as undrafted free agents.
  13. I hear that. i really do. However, Five out of the six AFC QB's drafted in first round. Three out of the six for the NFC. Seems to be a QB league right now. Last years playoffs - 5 out of six for the AFC again. Three out of six for NFC also.
  14. If this was me, no I wouldn't do that. Start from Square 1 and get the QB position solidified for the next 10 - 15 years. Start with a QB and let the rookie grow with the young talent the team now has.
  15. I feel we need to draft a QB in the top 10. And get that over with right now. We can pick up solid O-Lineman later, and maybe free agency. Me personally, I would be OK with a rookie QB backed by a veteran LT vs a veteran QB backed by a rookie LT. Just me.
  16. Board members, thanks for the feedback and fair enough on all points made. I am not misleading anyone with anything I know. it is really to bad that TM has been included in all of the organizational criticism. Oh, least I forget. he also had a hand in undrafted free agents. Don't throw any bricks at me, but yes Jason Peters and Fred Jackson.
  17. Yes, very, very true to blame folks no longer in the organization for failures.
  18. To Bills__Fan, I piece information together over the course of reading different web sites, listening to various media folks, speaking with folks in the NFL, etc. One thing that I will point out to keep it real is that I do not have links that I can attach to this board. As you can appreciate, since Donahoe left, the Bills organization has become very, very tight lipped about anything and everything. I am sure lots of folks will respond to me and say stick it. That is fine. Tom Modrak wanted various players to be drafted by the Bills, heck even Old Man Wilson was in line in 2006 with either Cutler or Ngata. TM is a rock solid college evaluator. I think we saw what he could do with the last two drafts - 2008 - 2009. I know Nix played in to 2009, but Modrak led who we selected. These last two drafts the Bills have done very well. If it were not for unlucky leg breaks to McKelvin and Wood, we would have seen these two young studs continue to grow into top notch players. And they still will.
  19. Let me go on record by saying that Tom Modrak has never, ever, been the problem for the Buffalo Bills when it comes to drafting talent to bring in to the organization. Tom Modrak is a well respected, highly regarded talent evaluator, that quite frankly should have been named GM for the Bills in 2006 over Levy and 2008 over Brandon. As GM in Philadelphia, he was responsible for - Andy Reid, Leslie Frazier, Jim Johnson, Donavan McNabb, Jeremiah Trotter, Tra Thomas, Ike Reese, John Welbourn, Derrick Burgess, Correll Buckhalter, signing Jon Runyan, and the list could go on. Jeff Lurie, the Eagles owner, wanted to sign Tom Modrak to a long term contract in 2000 - 2001, but Tom Modrak was undecided on what he wanted to do. Lurie decided not to wait any longer, allowed for TM (Tom Modrak) contract to run its course, then elevated Andy Reid to Coach/GM. Here in Buffalo, the list of players he wanted to draft but ended up being over ruled on doesn't stop with Cushing. Read the following list of players whom he wanted to draft but was over ruled on: 2002 - TM wanted Bryant Mckinnie or John Henderson. Tom Donahoe drafts Mike Williams. 2004 - TM wanted Vince Wilfork with the 2nd #1. Tom Donahoe drafts JP Losman. 2006 - TM wanted either of the following: Haloti Ngata, Jay Cutler, Chad greenway. Marv Levy drafts Donte Whitner. 2007 - TM begged and pleaded for the Bills to trade up 5 spots to draft either Adrian peterson or Patrick Willis, Levey drafts Marshawn. I think Tom Modrak will stay in Buffalo as some sort of College Talent Evaluator.
  20. Folks, I live in Philly. You will be bitterly disappointed in a Marty Morniwheg (however you spell it) hire. Stay away from this guy. And please do not promote him on this board for any reason.
  21. I live in Philly and I will tell you this about Jason Peters. Jason peters has continued on with his me first/worry about strong LT statistics first vs the betterment of the team. The top three Defensive Ends/Pass rushers he was to face this year (in no particular stack ranked order) were: Shawn Merriman - San Diego, Rich Seymour - Oakland and Demarcus Ware, Dellas Cowboys. He is a summary of each of meeting: Shawn Merriman - Peters inactive. Merriman destroys that side of the O-Line and San Diego wins big. Rich Seymour - Peters has to get carted off the field in the first half. Seymour goes on to destroy that side of the O-Line as well. In the fourth Quarter, the camera is on Andy Reid. STANDING Right behind him is #71. So tell me, how does an ALL PRO that is carted off the field with what looks to be a serious knee injury ends up, and is allowed to, standing on the sideline to watch the game? Oakland upsets Philly and costs Philly the division title. DeMarcus Ware - all three games, Ware won the battle by a significant margin. I am actually surprised by how handily Ware owned Peters. So I am not here to say that our LT's played better than Peters this year. I am here to say that Peters has continued on with his lazy/me first/I play when I want to play attitude. His demeanor will not stay swept under the rug for long. I think the reason he is not getting torched by the local media is because Andy Reid pushed hard for the trade, wanted to sign Peters to the huge contract, and yes, Andy Reid has a great relationship with the media.
  22. Jason Peters came up small, that is for sure. Not that these two consecutive losses are solely his fault. However, Philly signed him as an ALL PRO to big money to be the answer to the Dallas All Pro Demarcus Ware. In the end, these two battled the last two weeks and Ware won each contest pretty decisively.
  23. This story leaked to the media, a media outlet not called ESPN, could be tied to Ralph's interview with the AP, another media outlet not called ESPN, for the purpose of saying to Bill Cowher "Take your %^&*( or get off of the pot!!!! We want you as our next coach, but make a choice!" I have felt strongly that both sides - The Bills and the Cowher team, have used the media to negotiate with each other. After Cowher tells Nix he wants $10M a year, Nix offers $8.5M, Cowher shares with ESPN - you know I may stick with broadcasting......Bills respond with a media story "we have candidates Frazier, Billick, Rivera, etc lined up.............."
  24. There is nothing wrong with Ralph's comments to the AP. He was completely honest and no one can not respect Ralph's honesty. Some people may not like his honesty, that is a different issue. I like it that Ralph was honest as he was. He did not throw Bill Cowher under the bus. One way I looked at Ralph's comments is "OK Bill, it is time to take a BLIP or get off the pot...." The Bills organization is OK either way.
