  1. Maybe Coach Frazier felt as if the Bills only gave him the interview to meet the Rooney rule which is why he is reported to be declining at this time any Seattle Seahawks overture. I know we can respond that we already met the Rooney requirement with interviewing Fewell, I think the Perry Fewell interview was conducted out of respect for his contribution to the Bills.
  2. Link for Cowher and Ms Cowher in Buffalo please? If not, stop the madness until we hear definitively they are in fact in Buffalo.
  3. Do not hire Cottrell. Ted Cotrell is a perfect example of not being able to do anything unless he has top tier defensive talent, like the talent he had on the Bills D in the late 90's. Ted Cotrell would be a bad choice, a choice we need to stay awy from.
  4. I said this on another post. i think the Bills are doing everything they can to shut out the national media and instead are leaking strategic information to the smaller/unheard off websites and media outlets. A board member is absolutely right with Clayton backtracking on the air on WGR. When the news first broake about the Bills and Cowher, nope they have not talked. Then today, yeah they have talked and the Bills continue to pursue him (Cowher). I think the Bills are sick of being **** on by national media.
  5. I feel Joe is legit. I have a suspicion that by utlilizing small/local/unheard of media outlets to share rumors that have proven to be true (except for the Cowher happy with contract/still working on money for players etc), folks within the Bills organization are purposely SLAPPING national media figures in the face due to national media figures crapping all over the organization for years.
  6. How do I copy another members quotes to put it in to my message? davefan66 - AMEN MY BRUTHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Correct - a fixed process. Interesting that the current rotation was extended for one more year. I think this is in anticipation of a 2011 work stoppage, like no other.
  8. A high stakes negotiation is ongoing, I promise you that................
  9. What we all need to realize is this - We are watching a high stakes negotiation occur back and forth between the Bills and Cowher: Cowher " I want $11M....." Nix responds "$10M is a great offer........" Cowher could then leak to Schefler and Mort "I am just not interested...... Nix comes back "How about $10.5M........" Cowher to Sporting NEws, Bills look good.
  10. Recently the league announced that the NFl schedule would continue the current scheduling " divisional rotation" so to speak. There are four divisions in the AFC. that means we play very other AFC division every 3rd year. Three years ago, in 2007, we played the AFC N. In 2007, at home we had Bal and Cin, away at Pitt and Cle. The home and away games rotate every 3rd year we play an AFC division. The NFC has four divisions as well. However, the Bills are not in the NFC so we rotate with the NFC divisions every four years. Fours years ago, in 2006, we had GB and Minn at home, Det and Chi on the road. The home and away games rotate every 4th year we play an NFC division. This then leaves two games. The two left over games are played against the teams that finish in the "same divisional position" from the two other AFC divisions the AFC EAST does not play according to the AFC divisional rotation year to year. In 2010, the same place games will be against the AFC S and AFC W. A home and away rotation occurs within the same place games as well. In 2007 and 2008, we played the AFC S same place game AWAY. They were both in Jax. We lost in 07, won in 08. In 2009 the entire AFC East then played the entire AFC South. In 2006 and 2007, we played the AFC W same place game at home. We lost in 06 to San Diego and the 07 home opener to Den. In 2008 the entire AFC East then played the entire AFC West. The home and away rotation of the same place games occurs the year after the "divisional rotation". Hope this makes sense.
  11. H - NE, NYJ, Mia, Pitt, Cle, Jax, Chi, Det A - NE, NYJ, Mia, Bal, Cin, KC, GB, Minn
  12. I think the Bills absolutely discussed the possible Nix hire with Cowher to gauge his (Cowher's) temperature of the move. Cowher and Nix were both employed by the Cleveland Browns in the mid 80's when Schottenhiemer was the coach. Both Cowher and Nix still have solid relationship's with Marty. Asking the question to Cowher "would you work with Nix or even Modrak????" I definitely believe has happened.
  13. Martz is not the best option for Buffalo because of the climate Ralph Wilson Stadium has to deal with. I would rank Martz even behind Schottenheimer Jr. The order I would rank the coaching options is: Cowher Billick Rivera Option 4 - TBD Option 5 - TBD Haslett Schottenheimer Jr Martz
  14. I like Buddy's responses which tells me that he has his finger on the pulse of the organization and appears to be a straight shooter - We will examine why there has been so many injuries over the last three years. I will speak with Tom Modrak and John Guy in person before making any decisions on their future with the Bills (which means bye bye Tom and John). He believes (and I agree) that this years (2009) draft was very strong He believes 2010 draft class will be strong as well He will allow the to be hired coach to make football player decisions, like TO i suggest that Ralph's daughter stays away from him, just so there is no controversy on any topic.
  15. Although succesful in St Louis, Mike Martz would not be successful in Buffalo because of the windy conditions that RW Stadium deals with. His ego would not change and he would be way to pass happy. Mike Martz would make a QB look like Ryan Lindell trying to make a game winning kick from 40+ yards out
  16. Adding on to the Wade firing. Wade also did not help himself right before he was fired. There was a Monday night game coming up with Indy. Wade was interviewed by ESPN and Wade stated clearly the Bills were mathematically out of the playoffs, which at the time the were not. That interview further imploded the lockerroom and the team did not show up that Monday night for the royal ass whipping they received.
  17. I know. I think it is great we are having fun here. Considering that rooting for a football team should not be this difficult.
  18. HA. I am going to the FLY Boys and Sabres on Friday. I do have hockey on my mind!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry folks. Mike Holmgren.
  19. I agree with you both on your comments. I remember back in 1999 when he was hired. He walked in to (and I am serious) a boat load of talent, talent that could just not get over the hump in the later 90's, probably due to the Broncos and Chiefs. The only position that was truly weak on that team was QB, yet Holmgren still won the division in his first year. He then sets out to dismantle, then rebuild. Quite frankly, he did not have to dismantle the roster as much as he did. Anyway, I agree with you both. Funny thing about Holgren's tenure in Seattle - outside of year one in 1999, he only made the playoffs 1 more time as both Head Coach and GM. After the GM duties were removed, the team then made the playoffs the next four years.
  20. Paul Holmgrem has graciously tunred down the Bills request to meet: http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Wilson...their-list.html All reports point to the Shanahan meet as a go
  21. I think we need to take into account a lot of necessary Information Smoke Screening going on. The Reason - The Bills have to be very prudent in their Searching Approach because: 1.) The Rooney rule. Fewell will get his interview and it doesn't have to wait to the end of the year. 2.) Certain folks are still under contract by their previous franchise (s). I am sure the candidates do not want anything to happen to any left over money still owed to them by their previous franchise.
  22. I would not pursue Kevin Gilbride. His offense has been average ever since Plaxico Burress was arrested for gun possession. Make no mistake, Plaxico was an awesome awesome talent, but one player should not immediately drop an offense from unstoppable to average. Plaxico has been out of the lineup a yar now and Gilbride has not been able to adjust to help the Giants be successful. Outside of Drew Bledsoe, there are three main reason (IMO) why KG's offense went from awesome in 2002 to piss poor in 2003: The trade of Peerless Price to Atlanta The release of Larry Centers Tom Donahoe wanting to change the offensive mentality of the Bills from the 2002 high flying/prolific nature to more of a Pittsburgh Steelers Big and powerful gring machine that was unsuccesful and failed miserably in 2003
  23. A comment was made by "benderbender" and I am adding on. Although Jason Peters is an awesome talent, he proved in Buffalo and now here in Philly that he is doesn't give a crap about accountability to his team mates. Two cases come to mind that really, really hurt the Eagles this year: Oakland. Peters get carted off the field, taken in to the XRay room. The announcers obviously feel the knee injury is something way serious. The game goes on, the Eagles line is getting whipped pretty badly by Rich Seymour and his boys. 4th quarter, low and behold, look who is STANDING on the sideline. Jason Peters. Someone help me understand how an $11M player gets carted off the field then is physically fit to stand on the sideline and watch his team mates almost put Donovan McNabb in his grave. San Diego. Peters inactive. Although the Eagles pass protected well, c'mon, a player I want to pay $11M to will find a way to work through injuries and pay against the best of the best, like Rich Seymour and Shawn Merriman. There is no doubting his talent level. However, i like ot think that if a player is not drafted, there is a reason for it. it would appear that jason Peters only wants to play when he feels like playing.
