  1. To quote Bill Simmons... Bernard. Karmell. Pollard.
  2. Top 5 hitter all time and a class act. RIP.
  3. Of course, this is according to the judgment of the aforementioned really bad team.
  4. In Ithaca, I can give ya the exact street corners. In Manhattan, which I assume is more along your lines, only heard of it by reputation.
  5. Anybody in Ithaca or Manhattan is aware of Gimme! Coffee. Delicious stuff.
  6. Looks like someone was on Reddit a minute before me. Funny stuff
  7. Ok, that one takes the cake.
  8. Good post. People were critical of those moves, but there's something to be said about throwing a lot of darts. You could argue that Losman was the last gamble the Bills took on a QB. Since then, nothing but guys whose ceiling is a mediocre starter.
  9. Indeed it is. I remember when Roethlisberger was such a story his rookie year, and he was essentially a caretaker whose job was to not mess up. If Seattle's D hadn't folded like a tent at the wrong moment (granted, they were great all year up until this game) he'd be a MUCH more impressive story. Oh well.
  10. Birthday party at 3:28 AM and he wouldn't cooperate with police. I suppose it's wrong to assume anything about the party, but I don't think we're talking about a game of charades gone wrong.
  11. I bet that most of us know a small handful of self-destructive people. For those people, the level of risk doesn't matter. They just self destruct.
  12. I believe that risk avoidance is a big factor. Part of the problem is that fans demand that coaches and GMs get fired whenever mistakes are made.
  13. Hmm. Interesting. It just seems to me that every major sport is riddled with guys who seemingly don't fulfill physical requirements, yet succeed. It makes me wonder how many others are never given the chance. Heck, look at Welker.
  14. The same was largely thought of Brees, if I remember correctly. In any case, I more than see your point, but aren't scouts and GMs paid to recognize those "no one else like him" guys?
  15. If Wilson was three inches taller, he would have been a high first rounder. Probably top 5. Maybe 1st overall in a year without Luck and Griffin. And yet everybody passed on him twice over those three inches. There aren't enough organizations who ask "But can he play football?" above all other questions.
  16. Groucho Marx famously did the Charleston on Hitler's (supposed) final resting place. http://www.mentalfloss.com/article/30567/time-groucho-marx-did-charleston-hitlers-grave
  17. Anybody else think that was staged?
  18. On a sidenote, who else remembers everybody tearing their hair out when Byrd was drafted? Presumably because he was a DB.
  19. I don't like Seinfeld either. I actually have no problem with meaningless shite, but the meaningless shite on Seinfeld always seemed so contrived and inorganic. One of those shows that makes me say "Ok, it's comedians reading lines." Except Jason Alexander. He owned that role.
  20. I think there could be some comedy to Musberger and McCarron running into each other in the men's room after the game. Maybe one of those "Wanna get away?" things.
