  1. There are two words in the English language, 'cwm' and 'crwth', in which the letter W is a vowel.
  2. We should trade Woods for a 3rd.
  3. Agreed. But I also think a bunch of young bucks experiencing disaster together can quickly galvanize into something great. If a Superbowl is completely out of reach (and it is, this year, methinks) then I'm all for baptism by fire.
  4. Sometimes malicious hatred is easier to swallow than this sort of thing...a blissful ignorance in which one simply can't or won't acknowledge that people perceive the world differently.
  5. He still might have been their pick if they couldn't find a trading partner.
  6. And FJ is a nice hybrid between the two of them...can find gaps like nobody's business, then power to the second level. Too bad he looked over the hill last year, adding onto injury.
  7. If you pay attention to John Hollinger's PER ratings, Collins' 3.01 rating last season would have been low enough to qualify for worst in the NBA...except he didn't log enough minutes. Safe to say he's washed up. Still, I really applaud the courage in coming out when one's profession involves so much machismo.
  8. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/rb Among players that got between 20 and 99 carries last season, Blount ranks pretty poorly, significantly behind the Bills' own Tashard Choice. He's a big guy, but has a penchant for losing 1 or 2 yards and is a proven failure in goal line situations. He does well if he reaches the second level.
  9. Best of luck! Done 2 walking marathons (on my own, not organized) and a bunch of 10K, but I'd love to run a marathon either this summer or next.
  10. I'd say it's Brad Smith that should be worried.
  11. There's also the fact that Affleck suffers no delusion that $1.50 is now the nature of his life. It's like a vacation from wealth, if he even follows through on some of the most important aspects. Hunger is mental/emotional anguish too.
  12. I knew it would catch on. Just had to give it some time. It's a nice gesture, but 5 days is nothing. Buy a loaf of bread, jar of peanut butter, 5 bananas and a carton of eggs for $7 total and you're set.
  13. Here's a hot actress trying it out. Less hilarious, but easier on the eyes and probably closer to true-form on the content.
  14. Faith, like any good thing, is dangerous in heavy doses. Terrible.
  15. It's an interesting social phenomenon, but there's such a thing as diffusion of responsibility - the more people there are in a crowd, the less likely it is that anybody will help.
  16. Driving is such a banal part of life that we naturally underestimate the danger of hurtling metal and glass down the highway at 75 mph. "So what?" people say. "So I've had a few drinks." Yeah, you've also increased the likelihood of a fatal accident by ten-fold or a hundred-fold.
  17. There's no way that brings the typical person to .08
  18. Done it a couple times myself, but there's no reasonable difference between driving under the influence and causing an accident and driving under the influence and not causing an accident. It's the act of willfully increasing the chances of an accident that counts.
  19. American Psycho "Do ya like Huey Lewis and the News?"
  20. Honesty is good. But...fans don't boo during tie games just because they feel like being jerks. They boo because they watch a team that can barely clear the zone, allows a league-high in shorthanded goals to accompany a league-low in power play goals scored, and depends entirely on their mercurial goaltender for rare wins. I'd personally love it if he said "the team deserves to get booed". Ott being the team's leader, the young guys need to understand the following - celebrate your 2 points for about five minutes and then ask yourself why that game went to overtime in the first place.
  21. It surprises me that Ott doesn't have a thicker skin, based on how he plays. I'm not personally one to boo during a tie game, but I think the young players should realize that they're paying for management's errors and not take it personally.
  22. I'd trade him for a 3rd, but that just isn't happening.
