That might make too much sense. Seems like most of the line last year had players out of position from what they were used to.

Everything you read outside of TBD has Edwards a huge favorite to be the starter? It is far from a done deal, but a pretty safe bet at least that #5 will be in there on opening day.

Lynch arrives in Buffalo- Per PFT
billsfreak replied to Deep2Moulds46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In most cases no they wouldn't care, but with his already shakey situation and with a new coaching staff, if he really wanted to play here and try to win his job back, not coming in isn't the way to do it. He is already getting on the bad side of this new staff. -
Lynch arrives in Buffalo- Per PFT
billsfreak replied to Deep2Moulds46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
From what I have read he has showed up to Buffalo but not any of the off season activities. Sounds like he is still pushing for a trade, and he will get it, it is today's NFL. Remember Jason Peters? Just about all players that hold out and whine for a trade get what they want nowadays. -

I agree with your post, although it would take more than one key injury and quite a few lucky breaks for this team to even break even at 8-8. I am hoping they play harder and smarter, but the level of talent still plays into it as much as anything else and they Bills arent there yet. I think Spiller can be an exciting pro, but for the development of the team, I don't think this new regime did a very good job in the draft as far as improving the entire team. Drafting a LT would have/could have improved the ball running, quarterback play, pass protection, etc. As it is now, drafting a running back like Spiller won' t have the effecthere it could have somewhere else, since we have a punt heavy offense. Just think how bad this team would have been lately without Moorman-but then again you can't go much further down than the bottom. -

I heard he upgraded to a Commodore 128 the year before last? Must have been bad info. -

I agree, over the past few seasons, the play has been respectable, even above average for the early part of the season (4-0 a couple years ago), but has eventually went way downhill over the course of the seasons. Some of it had to do with injuries but you can't blame it all on that, poor coaching, even worse playing were a bigger part of the demise of those teams. -

Could you send me that money now so I can earn interest on it? I normally wouldn't bet against the Bills, not because I think they are going to do good, but it is my team, but this bet is like taking candy from a baby. How do I know that when you lose, you won't hide behind your delusional internet muscles and avoid me? -

We used to call someone a Bogart that didn't pass around what they were smoking. Wow, you have an imagination, I'll give you that much. Sorry I was off on the draft spot by 4 (didn't log into NFL.com to verify it-OOPS!), but still closer than what your prediction is for next year. -
Bills Depth Chart ℅ Allen Wilson
billsfreak replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Most of this list I would agree with, with the possible exceptions of: -Fred Jackson will be the starting RB. Spiller is going to be the Darren Sproles type of back, and I don't know if he will ever be a 3 down back in the NFL, if he does it won't be the beginning of his rookie season. Odd as it may sound, and I wish they would have dumped him, but if anyone beats out Fred Jackson for the job to open the season it would be Lynch. -I sure hope he is, but not sure Wood will be ready to start during the season opener, so it is a good chance that Chambers will be at that position when the season kicks off. -What if Schobel plays? He is probably our best defensive player, so I think he has to start, who would that bump from the starting lineup? My guess is Maybin, at least initially and probably Kelsay before the season ends. -I won't be surprised if Whitner starts the opener, but I give it until about week 3 or 4 before George Wilson takes his job for good. -With what they are paying Mitchell, I still think there is a good chance he starts somewhere, but if he doesn't, is there a chance he will get cut or traded? Can't really see Ralph paying someone that much to ride the bench. He might not even be ready yet from the serious injury last year, if not it is a mute point. -
It isn't surprising that with the current economy, the piss poor product that the Bills have been putting on the field, the Bills lack to make any type of hype driven splash this off season, in fact it would be more surprising if the ticket sales didn't go down. The Ho-Hum hiring of a GM and Head Coach did nothing to excite any of the fans with the exception of the fanatical "Bills Can Do No Wrong" attitude fans, who turn a blind eye to the past decade of losing and would find the silver lining in hiring Rich Kotite as the head coach. Part of me almost hopes ticket sales take a nose dive, since losing does nothing to get any type of message to Ralph, maybe if you take a little cash from his pocket he might make some football moves without the almighty dollar being the deciding force behind nearly every move he makes.

There are some things on this list that don't make sense, but having the Bills last is no surprise. The general consensus, after the off season signings, off season losses, the draft, etc. that the Bills are the worst team in football. Being a life long Bills fan, it is tough to say, but at this point, I can't argue, in fact my brain tells me that assessment is right on. The only team that I see competing with us at this point, is Tampa Bay. The Lions have had a much better off season than we have, the Raiders had a good draft and have more talent anyway, they just need some guidance to head it in the right direction. K.C. is young, but have some good talent. Holmgren will get the Browns headed in the right direction sooner than later. The Rams have some talent, and now have a quarterback that is a good bet to be a franchise signal caller or a long time, something the Bills haven't had in 15 years. The Seahawks had maybe the best draft in the league and have a good veteran QB if he can stay healthy. All this coupled with the fact that the Bills play in the toughest division in the NFL, as witnesses by the 3 other teams being in the top 13 teams in the NFL on this list, and two of them in the top 7 speaks for itself. This team has a long way to go, lets hope the current regime can do something the last few couldn't, but at this point they haven't proven anything, and they spent the #13 overall pick on a player (exciting but still) who plays in one of the two areas of the team that we actually have quality depth at. Then after taking a running back at number one, with teams wanting to trade for Lynch, they kept asking for way too much for him, instead of trading the thug for a pick that might help us fill one more of the many holes on this team. We could have all sat back and watch him screw up again and get suspended for an entire season, while he is on another team's roster. We all hope for the best, but don't be surprised if when the Superbowl ends this coming season that the Bills are on the clock with the first overall pick, probably to pick another running back. -

Trent Edwards calls Jim Kelly Naive
billsfreak replied to Deep2Moulds46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only problem with your view, it isn't just Edwards that Kelly's remark is about. There have been several quarterbacks from California who have done well (remember the 3rd and 4th Superbowl losses? Aikman is from California), and Kelly's statement was a slam at any quarterback from that state, not just Edwards or Lossman. -
He has played in what a couple NFL games and that is enough for you to know he isn't any good? You should be one of the Bills talent evaluators, the playoff drought would end for sure.
-
Not sure myself, I met both of them at training camp their rookie season and they both were really pleasant and nice guys. My guess is because Hardy was a relatively high draft pick and Johnson was a sleeper in the later rounds, everyone (well most people) love the underdog. Their draft positions may be why some consider Hardy a disappointment and Johnson someone with potential? Other than that, it is a good question, since Hardy hasn't accomplished much in the NFL, but more than Johnson has.

why is CJ any better than reggie bush?
billsfreak replied to Charles Romes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He might be another Reggie Bush, he might be better, he might be worse-nobody is going to know until he starts putting on a helmet in NFL games. My guess is, especially considering Bush is on a far more superior quality team, that at best he will be another Reggie Bush. -
Trent Edwards calls Jim Kelly Naive
billsfreak replied to Deep2Moulds46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are 100% correct. I don't remember Edwards ever acting immature? Maybe he showed poor decisions on the field, but that has nothing to do with his mental maturity, maybe his maturity as a QB but that is different. Really both sides of this discussion are being blown into something more important than they really are. -
Trent Edwards calls Jim Kelly Naive
billsfreak replied to Deep2Moulds46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Your'e correct, he could have been a lot less politically correct than saying Naive, maybe moronic or assinine could have been his choices. Some people hate Edwards so much on this board that if they ever found out he wore a t-shirt inside out they would have him prosecuted. He hasn't been great on the field, but off it he has been a class act considering the position he has been put in with no offensive line and terrible coaching. -

I totally agree with you, this crap that Edwards is not a fan is the most important thing on the planet is the most retarded thing ever posted on this board, and the people that are obsessed with it need help. -

That is true. I went to the last two playoff games at Rich Stadium, and you barely even needed a jacket and it was in January. -

True, but what has he ever accomplished? (Sarcasm intended). You can add Carson Palmer, Mark Sanchez and Aaron Rodgers to the list too, just to name a few Cali QBs who don't play in Miami like weather. -
