Re: Jim Kelly's California QB theory debunked
billsfreak replied to USABuffaloFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just think, if Kelly would have been smart enough to say what you are saying he meant, this might not have been an issue anyways. His statement didn't rule out QBs like Troy (HOFer-3 Superbowl Rings) Aikman, Carson (We won our division last year) Palmer or Jack (2 AFL Titles) Kemp. -
There is no doubt Kelly was the best all around QB ever, but as you said that isn't the question. I would probably say for just pure arm, Drew Bledsoe. He had one of the best arms to enter the NFL in the past half century.

Is Evans a #1 on the Bills and a #2 anywhere else?
billsfreak replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For your info, I offered to take one of them up on their offer, but haven't heard back-not sure who the other one is, I guess their internet muscles went limp. You shouldn't worry about why someone else is posting, when you post stupid stuff like you are, you should be the one not posting anymore. I haven't been called out for anything, I am in the majority thinking the Bills will be in the top ten picks in the 2011 draft, if that is calling out, you need a life. You have been called out more on this post than I have in my entire life. -
Nfl sunday ticket; Who's signing up?
billsfreak replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I tried that yesterday with the Sunday Ticket when I called to cancel that To Go crap. They told me I was paying about $100 less than last year and still getting HD, and I had until about the middle of July to cancel the Sunday Ticket alltogther. I tried to bait them into giving me a break but it didn't work yesterday. -
Is Evans a #1 on the Bills and a #2 anywhere else?
billsfreak replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I remember them calling out Owens a few times for just throwing up his arms and whining after an interception and not going after the defender. I remember that play and I don't remember the announcers calling out Evans, but stating how terrible the pass was. I am thinking you had different announcers than everyone else had that day. The ball wasn't anywhere near Evans, so how is he supposed to jump or fight for a ball that hits the DB in his numbers? -

Not this topic again? I thought it finally died. -
Nfl sunday ticket; Who's signing up?
billsfreak replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Watching football, and especially the Bills on sunday afternoons has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have had the Superfan package for the past few seasons (the Sunday Ticket for almost a decade now), and it did kind of annoy me that directv.com wouldn't let me cancel that new Sunday Ticket To Go online, I had to spend about 45 minutes on hold on the phone to do it. It had me as an automatic renew for the To Go garbage because I had Superfan last year, not sure how it can be a renew when it is a new package. I finally got that cancelled, so with early renewal price, I am paying about $100 less than last season. I have thought on many occasions of cancelling it, because the Bills have sucked so bad lately, but not sure what I would do with my sundays. -
Is Evans a #1 on the Bills and a #2 anywhere else?
billsfreak replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And the quarterbacks we have couldn't get the ball to either of them downfield. Explain why T.O. had just about the worst season in his career? Most of his receiving yards were after the catch. If T.O. had Evans' hands and effort on the field, he would be on a roster right now. -
Is Evans a #1 on the Bills and a #2 anywhere else?
billsfreak replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is a very accurate assessment. On two thirds of the other teams in the NFL, Evans is a Pro Bowler almost every season. -
Is Evans a #1 on the Bills and a #2 anywhere else?
billsfreak replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are 100% correct. Jerry Rice in his prime wouldn't have done much in last years offense. I personally think that while everyone looked at T.O. coming here in helping Evans, with the pressure the QBs had on themselves to get the ball to Owens, it ended up hurting Evans. -
Is Evans a #1 on the Bills and a #2 anywhere else?
billsfreak replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think if you put them all on even teams, Evans is as good if not better than Holmes. New England has far and away the better tandom, although Welker most likely won't be a factor this season. Marshall is probably the best WR in the division at this point, as Moss is on the downside of his career, but Bess is a #3 playing in the #2 role. As far as our #2, it is anyone's guess we just have to hope that one of the young receivers in camp step up and show something, but when it is all said and done, Evans will be back on an island again with no protection on the other side, and the critics on TBD will be all over him again. Hard for a wideout to excel with no QB arm, no O-Line protection and no decent #2 on the other side to take some of the coverage away from him. -
how about Lynch for V. Jackson?
billsfreak replied to billsfan_34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And when Lynch gets in trouble before the season starts, we are left with a rookie running back who will never be an every down back in the NFL. Good plan. -
Smerlas took one too many shots to the head...
billsfreak replied to sharper802's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't see anything wrong with what he said? He only said what thousands of fans have been saying, and according to alot of people on this board, ex-players (even current quarterbacks) are required to be fans of the Bills, or they are trash. Besides, I didn't really see it as any shot to Chan Gailey, more so to the franchise for hiring him, and that is warranted. -
how about Lynch for V. Jackson?
billsfreak replied to billsfan_34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They have already said they expect Matthews to take LT's spot, and get his reps. They would probably be interested in Lynch but wouldn't give up too much, maybe 5th or 6th round pick next year. This new regiime in Buffalo already blew the chance to get a decent draft pick for him when they turned down Seattle in April, that opportunity probably won't come again. -

billsfreak replied to billsfan_34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I doubt the Chargers would do it, since Jackson is a much better player and not one f-up away from being suspended for an entire season. Even if the Chargers would do it, Jackson is going to require a big contract, think about that, not gonna happen-this is Ralph's team remember? -
Nfl sunday ticket; Who's signing up?
billsfreak replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree, the annual raises have gotten a little bit annoying, but the worst part of the Sunday Ticket is that I get it mainly to watch the Bills, and they have been making my sundays miserable. I guess I am a glutten for punishment though because I watch sunday after sunday, curse under my breath for a couple hours after the game, then try to forget it when they lose. One game in each of the past few seasons I have had to work and I watched the game on my work PC using my DTV account so that has been great, although using it only a couple times I don't think I would pay extra for it. They also normally give me something on the anniversary of me signing up for DTV 6 or 7 years ago. This year they gave me the package for the NCAA basketball tourney, which seeing how I don't watch basketball, it didn't matter, but last year they gave me the Showtime package free for a year and that was great. Couple all this with getting to watch Friday Night Lights before anyone else with cable or another dish, is enough reason for me to stay with DTV. -
Nfl sunday ticket; Who's signing up?
billsfreak replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for that link, it actually bothered me more paying the extra $100 for HD than for the package itself. I wouldn't get it without the HD, it would waste the big new HD TV that I have, so it actually will be cheaper. I might still try the call and B word about the price thing like others have and see if I get a price break. -

So if your info is correct, the price actually went down? Wow, I sure hope you are correct. -
LT Wang carted off after hurting left leg
billsfreak replied to Delete This Account's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After the last few season, I am becoming numb to this sort of stuff. It is almost the norm and that is pretty sad. Feel bad for the guy, he was a project who didn't have the odds in his favor of making it big in the NFL, but if he worked hard he deserved his chance. Plus being a big Hokie fan it doubly sucks. I have heard of a limp wang, now we have a limping Wang, gotta be Buffalo. -
"Next year" is always the best year for drafting quarterback
billsfreak replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good point. Next years is always the best for everything for this team lately, might explain the decade of shame we have been going through. Someday they will plan for the present and not the future. The days in the NFL of playing for the future are long gone, teams every year go from last to first, yet Buffalo continues to try to build like it it still the 1970s or the 1980s. -
Nfl sunday ticket; Who's signing up?
billsfreak replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have had it for the past 8 or 9 years and I think I am done. The annual price increases along with the fact that I only get it to watch the Bills, and I have paid too much just to be frustrated sunday after sunday, has me about done with it. -

Lynch arrives in Buffalo- Per PFT
billsfreak replied to Deep2Moulds46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are correct he didn't shoot or rape anyone, but he could have killed someone! He could have shot someone too with that gun he was carrying in the trunk. I, like many Bills fans had such high hopes and excitement for Lynch after the first two seasons, then he started getting in trouble. Last season he came in, obviously weighing more than before, and it wasn't in muscle. He seemed like he lost a step and starting dancing around instead of hitting the holes like he used to. I would love nothing more to see Lynch get his head out of his anus, get in shape, come in with a positive attitude, ok first he just has to come in, when he does come in to run like he used to. NFL coaches get paid to win, if Lynch came into OTAs in shape, and busted his ass and showed everyone he is the best back on this roster like he can be, he will be the starter. As it is now, not coming in, even if it is voluntary, is only putting him behind in learning the new staff's offense, getting on the sh*t list of Gailey and isn't getting tighter with his teammates. He is under contract for the next 3 years, at a relatively cheap price too, so the Bills are under no pressure to get rid of him, which is probably the reason for the high asking price. He has the potential to be a Pro Bowl running back again, but sadly, his attitude and lack of efforts are probably going to get him out of the league before it gets him back in the Pro Bowl. That 10th of a second slower than CJ obviously wasn't measured last season, he looked more like 10 seconds slower, maybe that was a result of the month long vacation he got to start the season that the rest of his teammates didn't get. -
Haven't you ever had a bad day and had some humor cheer you up? Well Bills fans have had a bad decade so a little bit of humor isn't going hurt anything. Besides, are you like 90 years old?

We do have horrendous tackles, and that is an understatement. My guess is that at least to start with, Hangartner would start at guard over Wang, since he played there more than center in Carolina. He can't do any worse than he did at center last year, and not sure Wang is quite ready to start yet. Won't matter much though if our tackles can't keep people from coming around the outside and eating the QB alive.
