If we beat the Titans, do we win the Superbowl in 2000?
billsfreak replied to Skoobydum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We were the hottest team in the AFC going into the playoffs that year, after just spanking the Colts the week before. But I really think we might have gotten to the Super Bowl, but I don't think anyone was going to beat the Rams that year. The "Hottest Show on Turf" was pretty much unstoppable. History might have been different if Ralphy didn't insist that Wade played Johnson over Flutie. -
Trent Edwards the next Bills Starter?
billsfreak replied to Throwback Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So do I, but there hasn't ever been a quarterback that has won by himself without a good team around him. Not Marino, Elway, Unitas, Montana, Kelly-none have ever won by himself. You have a better chance to win with an average QB on a good team than a good QB on an average or worse team. -
There is a big difference in "committed to winning" and "being worth alot of money."

I have come up from Virginia for training camp every year since they moved to Rochester and until this year had at least one kid young enough to go into the Kids Autograph Tent. If it is a desireable player, i.e., Spiller, any big name new players (we don't really have any this year), the starting QB, Poz, etc., the kid almost has to get in line when practice starts. My daughter never minded, she would take her MP3 player and read a book in the shade. Even on a couple occasions, we got there a couple hours before the practice ended, the line of a desireable player was already shut off. They will shut the line off, which I guess is a good thing, so nobody has to stand in line for hours and then not get an auto, if you get in line before they shut it off, you will get an auto. It depends on the player too, when Pat Williams was there, his line was shut off early, but after he left the tent, he stood outside and signed for just about everyone who didn't get in the line. Other take off as soon as they can. It goes by positions, so if they are linebackers, Poz line will be long, but when you get him, the other lines are usually short enough or non existing and you can jump over and get some others. Hope this helps.

NFL.com's Lombardi ranks AFC teams.

Might be the most accurate line I have seen on TBD in quite some time. Some people don't get the bitterness though? -

The list is quite accurate actually, with the exception of putting Miami in the Super Bowl contender ranking and the Pats and Jets below them? -

My guess is because of the QB position. I personally think Cassel is way overrated, but the people that make these lists are still basing it on what he did in New England when Brady was out. Until he does something for more than a game or two in a row, Edwards (or any of our other 3 backup level QBs) won't be a positive factor in ranking the Bills against other teams. -

I was disappointed without a doubt, but I was never bitter. It would have been nice to win at least one, but as more time goes by, and this current team continues to stink up the joint, you realize how nice it would be just to compete to get back to a Superbowl much less win one. -
Spiller planning on holding out?
billsfreak replied to billsfreak's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The whole point of my post, other than just to have something to talk about was how in just a few days he went from wanting to be in camp on time to seeming like he really didn't care if he got in on time? Yes sometimes players do have something to do with it, the agents work for them, sometimes it is the agent, and yes like you said it is often the front office not wanting to overpay-which is why almost every team likes to wait for other teams to sign players so they can base their contracts on what others got. I only posted a question, as a topic of discussion and some people are translating it into panic? Don't read too much into general conversation, and I am not talking specifically about you. Some people here start posts that are general items (like this one-or about Pats Cheerleaders or playing a Toilet Bowl?) and expect everyone to read them and answer them like the Bills season depends on it, but when other people do they throw insults at you. They only makes themselves look like idiots. -

Good one! NOT! About time your babysitter takes you to the bookstore and gets you "English for Dumbasses." -

Pats 11-5 Jets 11-5 (wild card) Dolphins 7-9 Bills 5-11 We have some good young talent but it is going to take time for it to show in the results playing in the NFL's toughest division. -
Spiller planning on holding out?

eball-licker ------------- ----------------- --------------------- -------------------------- ----------------------------doesn't read whole posts. The question mark at the end mean there is no conclusion. It was listed as a question and a topic for discussions. The only conclusion I can come to in this post is that you open your yap without reading a complete post. The topic has as much interest as "Fitz the Starter" or "trade Schobel" and the many others that are started because people are anxious for football to start. It is the off season, what else are you going to talk about? -
Spiller planning on holding out?

I don't know anyone who is getting worked up over it? I started the topic as a question (hence the ?). Just food for thought on a boring day when football can't get here soon enough. -
Spiller planning on holding out?

He is also a rookie, so it is much more important for him to be there when camp opens than a RB with 3 or 4 years experience in the NFL. -

Sounds good, but easier said than done alot of times. -
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...act-before-camp I thought I read a few days ago how much he wanted to get into camp, now he is saying he is in no rush to sign a contract and get to camp on time? I sure hope Lynch isn't having too much of an impression on him
-
Don't take this the wrong way, I am not saying it is a good thing, but he is obviously the best option out of what we have-hands down, not even close.
-
I like Fitz too, I had the chance to talk to him for a couple minutes at camp last year, seemed like a genuinely nice guy. I would prefer if he is on the sidelines though to be carrying one of those things with water bottles in it for the starters to get hydrated on a hot day.

Let's hope Jackson or someone breaks out on the other side from Lee Evans, but reading about Jackson this is nothing new. He has always been a stellar practice player, but when the hitting starts he has had problems. He did the same thing in New England, but we can hope it will be different here.

Jim Kelly hopes Trent Edwards is the starter
billsfreak replied to Skoobydum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are absolutely correct. In the NFL: Bills = Cheap Cheap = Losing Losing = Bills It isn't just a claim, it is more than obvious that money is the route of all decisions at OBD, as much as we all hate to admit it. Those who state otherwise are dilusional. -
Jim Kelly hopes Trent Edwards is the starter

That might be because they hired Marino as the Head of Football Operations or something like that, he took the job then turned around and quit before he ever got started. Might be too embarrassed to say anything, along with the fact that he is all over the TV during the football season and gets paid then to give his opinion.
