Brohm chant at the next home game?
billsfreak replied to Pirate Angel's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You should do that and be really, really loud-that way we can tell what section of the stadium the biggest asswipes are sitting in-we could rename it the dickpile. Probably make Edwards look like a superstar. -
Trent Edwards- just the facts, stats

I commend you for being quite nice in describing that farce that was said they were an offensive line. But hey, if you listen to people on this board, Edwards should have thrown for 500 yards and 12 touchdowns, despite the fact that pass rushers got to him about the same time as the ball did. I don't understand why everyone that is yelling to get rid of Edwards isn't yelling to get rid of Spiller too, did you see how pathetic he was-it couldn't have been the blocking. I am not defending Edwards, but when people talk with such little knowledge about football, I can't help but chime in. -

Guess we will never know how he would do behind Pro Bowlers, since he can't even get an mediocre NFL caliber line in front of him. If Jim Kelly played behind this line (and no I am not comparing Edwards to Kelly), he would have been ran out of town before he ever got a chance to prove what he could do, as would have Thurman, Kenny Davis, Carwell Gardner etc. There would also have been a bunch of people who were trying to trade Andre Reed on this board like they are with Lee Evans because he had a quarterback that didn't have time to do anything. This new FO and Coaching Staff chose to stay with what little we already had at the QB position, so now we all have to live with it. They chose not to address the offensive tackles (or lack thereof), the other major weakness of this team, so we have to live with the worst offensive line that this league has seen in years, so I say if you get rid of anyone, get rid of them, they are just as responsible if not more for the continued pathetic performance of this minor league franchise we call ours. -

There is a difference between a bad offensive line and an insultingly pathetic offensive line, which is what we have here. No quarterback in the league would be very successful behind this pee wee caliber line. -
Just what we need, sign another QB who was great in a college system but can't even hang on as a practice squad player anywhere else (Brohm). This team needs alot, but why bring in more of the same or worse, when we already have something as good or better than Brennan will ever be. This team missed the boat by passing on Clausen or a franchise LT, instead choosing to take another running back. Spiller is an athletic marvel and would be great on even an average team, but as we seen yesterday, with this line, O.J wouldn't have gotten anywhere. The time to do that is during the off season and the draft, not after the first game of the season. Sadly, the new FO and coaching staff that so many around here are having multiple orgasms over, didn't see that as a priority. Will things ever change around here? Watching the game yesterday, it seems like the video is skipping and we just keep seeing the same game we have seen for the past decade or so.

That may happen, but it won't make a difference. This organization is going nowhere fast. The difference between the Bills and Dolphins is huge, starting with the off season additions: The Fins signed one of the biggest defensive free agents in Dansby, his impact was felt the 3rd play of the game, and they traded for Marshall. What did we add? "B" level free agents at best, probably closer to "C" level free agents in Torber, etc. The below article says it perfectly as far as Edwards or anyone else you put behind center on this embarrasment of an organization: -
I am not saying he set the world on fire, but, you can't run away from protection all day when there is no protection all day. That might have been the worst offensive line performance in Buffalo Bills history. It is also tough to throw a ball when you only have one NFL caliber receiver and he is double covered all day long. If they dumped Edwards, how long before you would become a hater of his replacement? Go to the library and pick up "Football for Dummies".
-
Football is a team game and just about everyone on the offense made some sort of mistake today, but the play of the offensive line might have been the I have ever seen in over 30 years of watching the NFL. They couldn't have been more pathetic unless they just laid down and went to sleep. Edwards never had time to throw unless he scrambled, the D-Lineman got to he handoffs at the same time as the running backs did. This team will never win until it gets an offensive line and a pass rush, they didn't show up at all. The defensive backs played their butts off but Henne had enough time to pitch a tent and camp out in the backfield. Some people need to look at all facets of the game before they throw blame on loss.
-
Edwards wasn't good, but he wasn't as bad as the Offensive Line was, and anyone who can't see that doesn't know crap about football. Just look at the first offensive series, a ball hits Jacksons hands and he drops it, then nobody touches the DE and he buries Edwards. Same old crap on the offensive line, the worst in the NFL by far. This team may never know if it will be able to win with Edwards, because until they get a line, he isn't going to survive a season. Look at the day that Spiller and the rest of the backs had, it was terrible, was that Edwards' fault, heck no, it was all the O-Line's fault. They were terrible. The only thing that rivaled the O-line for pathetic play was the last of a pass rush on the defensive side. Edwards hasn't been very good, but some people on this board are clueless when it comes to football, it is a team game not the QB and everyone else is along for the ride. Get a clue.

Excellent point! I thought that real football fans weren't allowed to moonlight as Fashion Police. It is kinda gay.

I did't realize there were jersey regulations, other than no profanity, etc. I have a closet full of those "not allowed jerseys" by your rules. I actually have two authentic McGahee jerseys in a drawer somewhere autographed from training camp. Is there a separate forum to find out if a specific jersey you own is an authorized garment? If you wear a jersey not on the authorized list, does that hamper the Bills chance of winning? Wasn't there a movie about John Tucker-"John Tucker must die?" One of the best jerseys I saw was at training camp the year after they traded McGahee, and after Superbad the move was a hit, someone change the name from McGahee to McLovin. I drove up from Virginia and went to 3 training camps days, and I must have seen at least 10 McGahee jerseys with homemade Spiller names on the back fixed over the idiots name, one even in paper. Classic.

Well said, and I agree as long as he stays as a cheerleader, ambassador, PR Guy, poster boy, potential owner, whatever and doesn't act like a GM, that is when he puts his foot in his mouth.

Like when? I guess you are one of the few people that have hatred towards certain players, regardless of how they perform on the field. I don't recall Mitchell taking plays off, but then again you are probably one of the few that claim T.O. didn't take plays off. I can understand not thinking certain players are good, or certain players not being a favorite, or having a favorite player, but when you have to make crap up to display your hatred towards a player it is quite ridiculous. See Ya! Nobody wants Ya! I was going to say "You Wish" but I should say "We All Wish".

I feel bad for him too. A class act and a heck of a football player when healthy, unfortuneatly he hasn't been able to stay healthy the past few seasons. It is one signing that didn't work out that you really can't criticize the FO for, sense when he came here he didn't have an injury history and he was a big piece of the defense that won the Super Bowl for the Giants a few months before he signed here. I hope he makes it back, but because of these injuries, his career might be winding down, at least as anything more than a situational role player. At the very least signing this guy from Miami might help us gameplan.

If I land on the moon, will I be the Astronaut of the Year? About as much of a chance of that happening as the Bills going 10-6. Hopefully things are on the upswing, but it isn't going to happen that quick, if it does at all. 99.9% of people don't expect them to win 6 games, much less only lose 6. Optimism is great, but you are setting yourself up for disappointment. Let's see if he can win a game or two before we talk coach of the year, or COF (whatever that is?).

When is the next time the goal posts come down?
billsfreak replied to basskik11's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not to mention the german shepherds that each of them have on a leash. I really don't personally remember another team's fans tearing down the goal posts, maybe no other team's fans are so hard up for a regular season win as we are. -
Biggest Reason our Offense will improve
billsfreak replied to Stussy109's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Biggest Reason our Offense will improve -It can't get any worse can it? It almost has to improve if not for the fact, we haven't had all of the injuries on the O-Line (fingers crossed). -
Season ticket base dropped by over 11,000
billsfreak replied to Chalkie Gerzowski's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It has alot more to do with the lack of signing free agents, hiring of a coaching staff that nobody else wanted and generated about as much excitement as watching paint dry and the fact that the team hasn't won in a decade plus. It has nothing to do with Edwards, in fact when just about all of the season tickets were sold, nobody knew who the QB was even going to be. He has been the starter going into the past two seasons, yet more tickets were sold-so your theory makes zero sense. Some people need to get over their hate for Edwards and realize he is the quarterback of this team for at least this season, so why not cheer him on if you are in fact a Bills fan. I thought Brohm should have been cut, but if he gets into the game because of injury, benching, whatever, you can bet your sweet a#s I will be cheering for him-why, because I am a Bills fan, not some idiot who hates someone he has probably never even met. -
What is Your Ideal Season?
billsfreak replied to Benjamin Barker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You have to be one of the following: 1. Under the age of 10 2. Severely under the influence of drugs or alchohol 3. Just now being exposed to the sport of football If all of the things you want to see happen actually occur, we won't go 2-14, but would compete for the playoffs. Too many positives listed for such a terrible record. I dislike Tom Brady as much as any other Bills fan, but to wish someone to get hurt is immature and retarded-I hope you get hit by a bus (just sarcastic but how does that feel?). -
I just find it astonishing that this post is still going on? I guess if his goal, whether he is a former Bill or not was to feel wanted, he got what he wanted. Dude, give it a break. Using your theory, we have about 3 starters on the roster, if taking the snapes doesn't mean your starting caliber or an NFL starter-it is two different things. Get over your hateful spasms towards Edwards and cheer for the team.

Season ticket base dropped by over 11,000
billsfreak replied to Chalkie Gerzowski's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Steelers dont have to travel well, they have bandwagon fans all over the country, some don't evenknow what state Pittsburgh is in, just that they win almost every year. -
Like the other people say, I can see a 4-12 season. Your post isn't wishful thinking, you must be smoking something or are quite delusional. It far exceeds wishful thinking or optimism, it is downright ridiculous.

Season ticket base dropped by over 11,000
billsfreak replied to Chalkie Gerzowski's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only thing surprising is that it didn't drop even further. When you figure in the following facts: 1. The economy sucks everywhere. 2. The Bills have sucked for over a decade. 3. The Bills made no "exciting" pickups during the offseason to give it a shot in the arm (like T.O. last season). 4. Even though it might (hopefully) turn out to be a good move in the long term, the signing of the current Head Coach and GM did nothing at all to excite anyone, in fact it probably cost the team ticket sales. 5. Did I say the team has sucked for over a decade? -
Is anyone else not fully buying into Gailey?
billsfreak replied to billsfan89's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am as hopeful as the next Bills fan, but I am not going to go gaga over a coach who hasn't won a game here yet. He doesn't have that great of a record anywhere as a head coach, hopefully being here changes that, much like it did for Marv Levy. Alot of people on this board are all excited knowing the Bills finally hired a coach to lead them back to the promised land, myself, I will hold judgement until he does something worthy of praise (yelling at a couple of young fans at training camp doesn't make him a legend in my book). Get us back to the playoffs in the next few years and then I will agree that he was a good hire, otherwise he is no different than the last 3 or 4 clowns they have had in here.
