  1. That would be no good for either side. He spent all of the off season, training camp and regular season moping around because he lost his job or as he saw it, his job was taken from him. I think he would probably go somewhere at a #3 before he stayed in Buffalo. From the Bills point of view, that is an era that they need to get passed for PR reasons. Giving up so much for him and designating him the second coming of God in Buffalo, then seeing it crash and burn, is not something that will go away if he stays.
  2. That is totally not true. There have been just as many good QBs drafted low in the draft as there has been in the first few picks. So many of the QBs drafted up top have been total busts, i.e. Couch, Harrington, A. Smith, etc.
  3. Yeah it sucks, but it is what every team in the NFL faces each and every year, especially with a salary cap. That is why ownership, management and personnel decisions are more important in the NFL now than it ever has been, and exactly why we can't get out of the second division. The Patriots won 11 games last year and had what, 3 or 4 players left from thier first Superbowl win? Other than Manning and Harrison, the Colts have rolled over almost their whole roster, but they are in the playoffs every year (remember Polian?). The teams that don't ever win (like us) are a direct reflection on their ownership, management, personnel and coaching as much as it is on the players on the team.
  4. I don't think it would ever happen. Players hate. He doesn't get along with ownership or management. And even if these things didn't exist, Ralph would never pay a coach what he would have to pay Gruden to bring him in.
  5. That is some of the best news I have heard since the Hall of Fame list came out. Emmitt has done 3 things in his life 1. playing football which he was great at. 2. Ballroom dancing which he was good at, but not as good as he finished (he shouldn't have won) and 3. TV work of which he is terrible. He is a terrible speaker, always pronounces names wrong, more biased towards Dallas than Jerry Jones is, and it is obvious that his physical talents on the football field didn't transition to mental knowledge of the sport, because he is terrible. Now if we could only get Kornhieser off of Monday Night we would be making big progress.
  6. Nobody is going to give him 6-7 million a year after what? 7-10 decent games in his career. Especially when they can get an experienced and much better corner for 1-2 million more per year.
  7. Your assessment is right on. I concur 100%. He is a "good" corner, but no one is going to pay him like a "great" corner.
  8. Just to clarify, we don't "have to" sign Jason Peters, he is already under contract for a few more years.
  9. Not going to give an average, maybe a little better than average CB 10 million a year. We wouldn't give it to Clements and he has 5 years of starting experience. We can very well resign him at a much cheaper price. If we tagged him we would just be bidding against ourselves. No one else is going to top 2-3 million a year, if that.
  10. The little gremlin on my shoulder tells me we aren't going to have to worry about that next season. He is telling me we might be lucky to win 4 all year much less the first 4.
  11. I can't slam you either. I am always optimistic every off season, have a smile on my face at Training Camp and enter the season, just confident this is the year. Like yourself, this year is different, so different. What has the organization done to leave any hope lately, nothing. Maybe our best player is a thug who will probably be gone soon, we have a coaching staff that can't win, an owner who won't do anything about it and fans who keep filling the stadium, so the owner has no reason to do anything about hit, he gets his bucks. As it has been said here over and over, we really are becoming a laughing stock, and for someone who has been a diehard Bills fan for over 35 years, it really sucks!
  12. That might be one of the shortest posts I have seen on this board, but probably the most accurate.
  13. You could use him as bait, but you are not going to catch a very big fish with him. Who is going to give up a bonafide star for a Returner/DB who has clearly lost a step and as you stated, hasn't played a full season since 2004? I say it would be a better plan to keep him for depth, and maybe even when McKelvin takes over corner full time, use McGee on returns to give Leodis a breather.
  14. T.J. is exactly what the Bills need-and exactly what Ralph won't pay for. We will bring in a receiver or two, after all the bigger name ones are plucked we will give a minimum salary contract to one or two mediocre players.
  15. I have been a big fan of Lynch's and love to watch him run, but some of the posts about this incident on these boards aren't even funny they are stupid. One says "I forgive ML"? WTF? We got over lasts years hit and run, that was his first chance. Now his stupid decisions are going to start hurting the team, when their best offensive weapon (Yes best, Evans would be, but we can't get him the ball), is going to start missing games with a suspension. Unfortuneatly this probably won't be the last incident either, if history in this league says anything-how many of these "thugs" or "Troublemakers" stop at 2 arrests? Almost all of them that have had more than one, don't stop at two. So while he is serving a suspension, what happens if Fred Jackson gets chopped at the knees and misses 3 or 4 games-what do we have then? Rely on Trent's passing game-that hasn't worked so far. This team isn't that good that they can lose their RB and carry on without missing a beat. Some say-it wasn't his gun, not his car, no threats were made-you know what-when you are in his place, you have to put yourself in a good position. The circumstances of this are irrelevant, he put himself there, now him and his teammates are going to have to pay the price.
  16. Nothing close to what Jones has been, if he had been, he wouldn't be close the the 11,000 plus yards he has gained.
  17. I agree with most of your post, but I can't consider Moulds, Ruben Brown, Fina or A. Smith bad picks. Moulds and Brown had multiple Pro Bowls, Fina held down the most important position on the O-Line for quite a few years (mostly playoff years) and A. Smith had multiple 1,000 yard seasons, and would have stuck around longer but the team drafted T. Henry.
  18. It still hurts, but just one of many moves made by Ralphie Boy's front office over the years. Others include: 1. Trading all those picks for right to draft J.P. 2. Letting Pat Williams go 3. How about Mike Williams with the 4th overall pick-nice one. 4. Then there is a first round pick for Eric Flowers. 5. First round pick for Bledsoe-not as bad as some, but still overpaid for him. 6. Trading up for McCargo? 7. Walt Patulski with first overall I believe. I could probably go on and on, but I think my point has been made.
  19. Unless my memory fails me, and I am pretty sure it doesn't, the Browns beat us the last two seasons didn't they?
  20. We could use him maybe, but I personally think Deuce McCallister has more left in the tank than Fred does.
  21. Actually, from what I read, your info is wrong. He told Jax he would take a pay cut to stay there, but they told him they wanted to turn the page, and go on without him.
  22. I really wish you were correct, but I hate to tell you what Marshawn did last year was more than a blip on the radar screen. If you have been paying attention to the way the new commissioner is handling situations like this, you wouldn't be so quick to place a bet that he doesn't get suspended at all. I love the way Lynch plays and think he could be a perennial Pro Bowler, but one more slip after this and his career could be in serious jeopardy.
  23. Jones hasn't really done anything in the NFL except get hurt all the time (ok, except the game he ran all over the Bills a few years ago). He hasn't had an exceptional season since he left Virginia Tech. There has to be a reason why no one else wants him, his last injury was a pretty serious one. I say, if we want some depth at RB, bring in Fred Taylor. He would be great depth, and if (and when) Lynch gets suspended, he can give Fred Jackson a breather. Beside, Fred Taylor was drafted with our pick anyway-Gee, who got the best of that trade, Jax got Taylor and other picks, and we got Rob Johnson.
  24. Unless he is in a West Coast offense, Garcia won't work. Of the 5 or 6 teams he as been on in the last 7 or 8 years, the ones he truly excels on were in an open offense. When he was with a team like the Browns, who run an offense similar to Buffalo's, he is been below average.
