  1. Funny how the Seattle-based Clayton ranks the Seahawks offseason moves at #1 - better than the Giants or Eagles, doubtful. They are middle-of-the-pack at best. I like Clayton alot (as long as I don't have to look at the gooney-bird too long), but even he is a homer sometimes.
  2. The Bills actually have all 5 of the lineman together NOW! In April/May. In time for OTAs and mini-camps and training camp. They don't play until August and it won't count until September 14th! Now that no one is grousing and causing several TEMPORARY shifts, the guys can settle in, get to know one another, know each others strengths/weaknesses and practice together for the next 4 months! Plenty of time to gel and be ready for mid-September. Plenty of time for the FO & coaches to pick-up a cast-off from another team if they think that guy is better than the 5 we have now. I'm beginning to drink the kool-aide! Now if someone can convince me that we will see pre-concussion Trent vs the post-concussion version for the whole season (& playoffs) - I'll feel much better. I like the guy (a lot) but he's just going into his 3rd year and is by no means close to Pro-Bowl caliber. Here's wishing & hoping for great progress & health!!
  3. Great article - I love the attitude!!!! Carucci on Bills OL
  4. Can U print the text - the site is 'blocked' at my office
  5. Ashton "Shake" Yobouty Aaron "Iron" Maybin Eric "Pecker" Wood Jason "Salt" Peters (went limp!) Fed "Action" Jackson Shawn "Full" Nelson Mike "Scotts" Handgardner Doninic "Dusty" Rhodes Kirk "Marilyn" Chambers - oops, a family blog! Brad "The" Butler "Did It" - apologies to Jerry! Terrance "Fibber" McGee Kiwaka "General" Mitchell Paul "Are you kidding me?" Pozluzny (There's no name play on this guy!) John "Air" McCargo Spencer "For Hire" Johnson Pat "The Bunny" Thomas Demetrius "& the Gladiator" Bell Jairus "Butch" Byrd Dustin "Crazy like a" Fox James" Laurel &" Hardy
  6. I agree with LT as #1. The Bills may already have their guy - as long as it's not Walker. Not because I don't think he can do it. I think he'd be OK, but because I'd like to keep the right side in tact, and rebuild only the left side instead of switching everyone around. We ran pretty well to the right last year. We always got blown up at C and the left side which should have been great was only occasionally OK. We addressed the middle in FA & the draft - now we need that LT. Is Butler the guy? He was good next to Walker on the right side . . . . #2 would be LB. Other than Leroy Hill, I'm not sure who's out there or who may end up out there once they are released. An upgrade here will help the pass rush too! If we get an above-avg LT and an upgrade at LB - we will be contenders. #3 - DT - fortify the rotation of big guys. I'm secretly praying the Bills give McCargo another shot and he blossoms now that Kollar is screaming down in Houston. I'm hoping Kollar was the problem - not McCargo. #4 - DE - still. We had around 24 sacks last year. How many will Maybin add? How many will a NEW LB add? We need to fortify this position too.
  7. While all the selections are great ballplayers, it is strange they allowed 4 guards on the OL and ignored anyone who played tackle. (????) It is also strange they allowed only one RB - I know they said they were going with a 3 WR offense, but sometimes - at least half the time we run a 2-back offense - so their s/b 2 RBs on the team. Or a fullback - Gilchrist gets my vote. I also question the LBs - 3 of the 4 are from the SB era - Buscuit - Talley - Conlon. Really? No Spielman, Jacobs, or anyone else I cannot recall here? All these oddities, but they select a ST player - Tasker? I don't know who set the guidelines for this team, but I would put my money on the 25th Anniversay team vs the 50th Anniversay Team any day. Bruce (25th Anniv Team) would blow past any of the guards playing tackle and Kelly (50th Anniv Team) wouldn't make it through the 1st Qtr!!!
  8. The line looks like (from LT to RT): Walker, Levitre, Handgardner. Wood, Butler (or Levitre/Wood could switch sides)
  9. This mock shows a complete lack of knowledge - I'm tuning out until 6pm tomorrow.
  10. The problem with guys like you using the stalls for #1 is that way too many of you have bad aim and when some poor guy has to use a stall for real business, he first has to mop up your mess - when there is little-to-no time to spare!
  11. By need: DE, OT, OG/C, LB, DB/S then TE By talent available this year (there is no real sure thing in DEs in this draft, I'd rather we sign Taylor or shock the world and sign Peppers): OT, OG/C, LB/DE, TE, DB/S
  12. per Dallas Morning News: 'Williams offered no excuses for his Buffalo years but he did say it wasn't easy playing for three different line coaches in his four seasons as well as two different head coaches. And maybe, he said, thinking he had to carry the hopes and dreams of a franchise on his large but relatively young 22-year-old back had been a bit overwhelming. You've got to be kidding me!!!! Carrying the hopes of the franchise??!! He's blaming coaching changes on his inability to be motivated enough to play hard, "want it" and be nasty on the field. At the very least he is too nice to play pro football - he has all the tools, but coupled with a complete lack of desire, he couldn't cut it then and he probably can't cutr it now (based on the silliness of this article).
  13. It's nice to see the FO is fishing and not sitting back. Brandon may be underestimated - remember, it's only his 2nd year.
  14. Your theory is correct, however the Bills have never hired a high profile coach (except Knox). Saban may have been high profile back in the day - I'm a little too young to know for sure. That said, if the Bills falter, they may can Jauron (remember he'll still have two years left on his deal), but I wouldn't hold your breath on Cower & Company.
  15. Let's face it - on a 7-9 team not many guys are untouchable.
  16. I think we're missing the issue. We are loaded at WR, so what roster spot could Roscoe take if it is not one of the WR slots? For this reason, I believe the Bills are thinking of dealing him. I just hope it is to a crappy NFC team. I don't want to help Pittsburgh with anything. I'd also prefer a warm body in return as opposed to a Draft Choice (unless the choice is packaged with (let's say Kelsay) to go to Jacksonville for Henderson).
  17. I can live w/the first 3 picks, but wouldn't mind Coffman. I don't see us drafting a QB or a WR at all with all of the up-front holes we have. We do need a LB, but not another big safety (named Ellison) trying to convert.
  18. You're only focusing on 2 teams. There are plenty of other good or great teams who have non-coaches making decisions: Polian (Colts), AJ Smith (Bolts), Reinfeldt (Titans), Colbert (Steelers - SB Champs), Ravens (Newsome) & Reese (G-men) among others.
  19. The Eagles statement is the moral equivalent of Rev Jimmy Swaggart preaching to his congregation with his pants/shorts around his ankles!
  20. I would guess the FO thinks this would placate him in the event he doesn't gey enough balls thrown to him - so he won't complain. I would suggest the FO didn't think this through as it also encourages TO to drop some if he begins to approach 90!!!!
  21. I heard Mouse McNally on GR55 this morning and he felt there was no way the Bills could go thru with Peters holding out again this year and that this was the best for both parties involved.
  22. At least the Eagle players showed up to practice while they did their griping. Not like our "Pro Bowler" who tanked on himself, his teamates and the Bills' faithful.
  23. The Bills never made a formal statement like that about Jason Peters. If they had, it very easily could have been like the Eagles statement about Brown. Verbatim. (sp?) Hypocrasy only applies to QB's and LT's I guess.
