  1. This is one post that makes no sense ... he was gone ... we had no shot at him ... he is playing for another team and everything pre-draft indicated he'd be a good player but he is not a Buffalo Bill. And, for those with inside information ... good for you! We might have drafted Kuechly but we have ourselves a gem in Gilmore! He's the Bill and his success matters to the team I am a fan of not the play of Kuechly. And, it's not like us passing up Tom Brady because we never had a shot at him ...
  2. I was one of those rare fans of the pick when he was drafted but this kid has just had a lot of bad luck. While I do not see him as an easy or early cut, I do not see him making the team and with those injuries he probably should pursue a different career (Hope he invested his signing bonus wisely.). Great competition on the D Line but no reason to let any go early.
  3. Ok, scratching my head on this one ... let's see almost every analyst who talks about the Bills talks about Stevie being one of the best wideouts in the league. This morning on Mike and Mike during a brief conversation about the Bills they brought Stevie and Fred up as two superstars that the rest of the league is just beginning to discover. Yes, he had those two drops but in hindsight I am glad we have Marcel Dareus rather than the win over the Steelers although I was as ticked as anyone in that loss. His ability to get open and to beat the elite db's are other reasons that he is in that special class of receivers. Too many people get focused in on speed or size but in the end it's the ability that matters. Two 1,000 yard seasons in a row is nothing to sneeze at. And then there's his total commitment to the Bills and Buffalo! Last year's purchase of his own ticket to the uniform debut and every on air moment when he promotes Buffalo are all good stuff! So, perhaps we should look down the roster some before questioning one of the best receivers in the league's ability.
  4. I keep having this dream ... the Buffalo Bills opening day versus Sanchez ... it's a passing down and in trot Shawne Merriman, Mark Anderson, Kyle Williams, Marcel Dareus, Mario Williams all healthy with fire in their eyes and then we call for a safety blitz on top of it ... and this dream repeats itself over and over again against Brady and the others. I cannot envision any offensive line or quarterback being able to successfully deal with our D front in passing downs and then you toss in the fact that we have Gilmore and Byrd who should be major ball hawks plus Wilson and Williams who will get their share and toss in as a nickle Rogers, Brooks, or even McKelvin ... this is one dream I want to keep dreaming!
  5. For some reason I still cannot find a single reason to like the man ...
  6. Very sad ... we should all pray for his family and friends. All too many young people find themselves without hope and struggle to meet everyone's expectations.
  7. If there is one thing that Gailey knows it is offense and based on what we keep hearing from the players the complexity of this offense takes time to understand with last year's off season limitations having their impact. I think we are going to see a very creative offensive team every time we get the ball, which should be often because of our dominating D. Plus, doesn't that say something about another one of our star's (ok, he has not been a star for us but he is a "name player" and all too frequently they do not hang out with fans.) character that Merriman would spend the entire time in the autograph tent!
  8. As a UB alum, the story is a great one ... and last year I think he proved he can play but the speed thing will negatively impact on his ability to make the cut. Right now the only thing I think in his favor is that Easely does not appear to be impressing anyone so if he doesn't make the team and the numbers are high enough then Namaan might make it since he is also decent on ST's!
  9. Just the few highlights that have been posted so far show an intensity and amazing ability in this kid. There's fire in the eyes ... when you think about our pass rush this year that will lead to hurried throws by quarterbacks there will be plenty of pickin's for those DB's. And, while I am thinking about it ... John Wawrow, thanks for being an active participant on this board. Your professional insight is always welcome!
  10. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! These are the days when I wished I lived closer to Rochester/Buffalo!
  11. When you typed the number five were you referring to the number of losses the Bills will suffer this year? I keep looking at that schedule and then thinking about our defense, which means our offense will get more opportunities and the possible number of wins is actually frightening. This is a team that should not lose those maybe games any more. I think we beat Miami and the Jets twice and we win our home opener so there's five wins. A split with New England. Tennessee and the Colts and we are at eight wins with some other winnable games out there on the schedule. So I am saying 10 wins but with a few breaks (And, no significant injuries) this team definitely can be amongst the best teams in the league.
  12. All I can say is THANK YOU!!! This is such an incredible service for every Buffalo Bills' fan!!! We all greatly appreciate the work that you put into providing us with a very unbiased report! Keep up the good work and thanks again!!!
  13. There is no doubt after a good night's sleep what we have is better than Addai! He had his day and injuries have worn him down to spectator or camp fodder status but the Bills' camp in 2012 is filled with competitors not throw away's.
  14. Oh my ... Why at this late hour did I know that someone would be seriously saying the Bills should sign this washed up running back who couldn't make through one week of practice for a team that on the surface has a deficit of running backs. Hey Buddy after signing Shockey and Plaxico get this one done too!!
  15. Thanks Meathead ... you couldn't have made it more clear to those who have this blank stare look and hatred for Kelsay. No one ever claimed he was Pro Bowl material but he is definitely a decent starting defensive end (who should never have played linebacker) who throughout his career has consistently put pressure on quarterbacks and been effective in doing his part in run defense (How many times do we see him crossing the field to make tackles!). No he doesn't have a sack total to be worthy of but he has been recognized by different coaches running different schemes and by his teammates as a quality team member.
  16. Definitely refreshingly honest! Troup once had so much upside but injuries have done him in. Buddy is not about to protect a pick or trade of his once it is clear the guy isn't going to work out . For Buddy it is all about purring a winning team togethe.
  17. Didn't we go round and round with this it isn't going to happen story before. Please do a face check on the BUDDY NIX concept of CHARACTERISTICS of team players for the Buffalo Bills. The WORD CHARACTER,which is a word never assocaited with Burress appears to be a key element in the players who will play for the Bills. A recent NY POST articlegives a quick view of the fact that he wasn't worth the $3million the Jets paid him and refers to his character issues. Camp starts with the young players on our roster and some of our cuts will end up on other teams' rosters for opening day. GO BILLS ... wondering who the next aging retread with character issues that our board will recommend for the team.
  18. Nope ... head case ... has had his better days ... Chandler is solid as our number one and Shockey would only stir up waters that don't need to be stirred. And boy we need training camp to start before threads start about every retread out there especially those with major character issues that some on this board seem to think will really help a team that is finally on the same page with each other.
  19. There are clearly days when even if I have had enough coffee that I cannot understand the reason for some of the threads on this board ... every team in the NFL signs free agents and most never turn out to be the player that they had hoped for (Just ask the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins). Obviously, from all indications our big two this year are exceptions to that rule but we'll have to wait to find out. Time for a little more coffee and then maybe I can figure out why this was posted and what I should have written in reply to it.
  20. Seeing what he was able to do in the preseason last year while operating hurt was amazing ... I'd take 75% of LIGHTS OUT as a pass rush specialist and we'll be so hard to stop! I am an eternal optimist but in Merriman's case I need to see him in the midst of some intense physical contact to believe that he is back. But, all the signs indicate we may have a special weapon ready to unleash on Sanchez, Brady and the rest of the quarterbacks in the league.
  21. First ... I do not think he is among the untouchables on the team. If he falls flat and cannot contribute I do not see either Buddy or Chan as being emotional guys who keep players on the 53 because they were "their guy" at one time. However ... the shortened preseason last year did not allow Gailey to fully install his creative offense that allegedly will make more use of Smith's position so that makes keeping him a wise decision. Also, I don't mind having him as our #3 quarterback and yes every team needs a #3 so his presence will not take away other slots on the team. I am not a fan of the Miami style Wild Cat but if Smith can get us a first down on half the third down situations we are in that makes him worth keeping even if those are only short yardage gains. Plus if we cut him we know REX will pick him right back up and he'll haunt us forever haha. We have better kick and punt returners (At least from what he showed us last year.) but he does add that special team diversity to his resume. This year the Bills will be cutting players who other teams will sign immediately and the naysayers will scream that we shouldn't have cut them. There will be players cut that Buddy drafted or signed but the reason is we have a quality team finally. So, if Brad doesn't work hard and is outplayed ... he could be on that list of former Bills too. I just can't wait for the season to see our D and then to watch FITZ work without the pressure of always being behind and always knowing that the other team would control the ball for 8-10 minutes ... this is going to be an amazing year!! GO BILLS
  22. Ok ... my brother has the tickets and I thought what a stupid call for me to make to ask him whose photo's are on the tickets. Does it matter? Do you have a collection of must see pics? Please list the 9 game photo's that have led to the exclusion of Fred ...
