  1. Once again proud that on the surface it appears that Buddy and Chan are looking at character as well as skills.
  2. As much as I was a huge fan of Easely from the time we drafted him I am beginning to think he may be amongst the surprise cuts of the summer. So, I definitely do not count on him at all. Who cannot love McGee ... but realistically he is not going to have an impact. The best news for our defensive backfield is Aaron Williams and Stephon Gilmore taking control. I like our younger players with McGee acting as an experienced teacher who hopefully makes the team. That brings us down to two ... I think we're safe at LT with either Glenn or Harrison so that impact would not be as great as a healthy LIGHTS OUT returning in full force. This defense is going to be awesome ... any passing situation is going to be pure hell on the opposition!
  3. Just look at Donald Jones ... this will be the year!
  4. Bradham may very well be our surprise in the draft ... this kid is strong, fast, has great on-field instincts, and boy does he hit hard. He may be the perfect linebacker and could very well be in the starting line-up by midseason. He will be an interesting one to watch in camp!
  5. Well I still need my morning coffee but it appears that some editing has been done that now fails to provide any hints about the excuse list or who was Wright or Wrong. There are moments when coffee is the better choice than reading the board ...
  6. And to me it's his spirit ... this guy loves to play and loves to succeed and knows how to do it! This is going to be an awesome defense!!
  7. If it we were talking about one game or even a three game series then Vick might be the choice based on his athletic ability but to lead a team I would take FITZ. Yes, Vick's past haunts me but being here in South Jersey it appears that Vick is doing his very best to make up for his past mistakes and he did the time too. The fact is Vick has never made it through an NFL season and I think he is on the downhill slope. So on with FITZ!!! And, grown men with any intelligence do not get into teenage name calling tirades but it has been clear for a very long time that this board is a release for the teenage frustrations of many.
  8. actually at the bottom I thought there was sand mixed with gravel ...
  9. It seems that this board always needs a player to hate upon ... and, yes I think that contract is one of the primary reasons it's as if each hater had his own paycheck cut so that Kelsay received more money. But each coach talks about his play on the field. His teammates all seem to support his play on the field. I guess I must have blinders on because I have spent time exclusively watching Kelsay to see if he 'takes time' off and have never seen it. I have seen him come from the opposite side of the field to chase runners down but taking off games or seasons ... come on now. As for the sacks ... not every defensive end is the king of sacks. I don't have time to pull the numbers around the league but Kelsay has had a decent number of pressures every year and for many of those years he was the only pressure. The move to linebacker was plain stupid but then again Jauron and Brown didn't do a whole lot of succesful game planning. Kelsay is not a linebacker but he will be on this roster in September once again contributing on the field play after play and yes, he will be overpaid but then again aren't most of these guys overpaid for playing a game?
  10. I am pretty sure you are right ... For some reason I thought he had more game experience.
  11. Sorry for the confusion on my poll ... but you can cancel your vote and vote again. I have clarified it now.

  13. THANKS ... my mistake when I started listing the players I thought it would be more informative to show who was going to be cut.' Hopefully the clarification will help.
  14. PLEASE NOTE I created some confusion by the title of this thread but the first few responders correctly noted that we are selecting players in the poll who will not make the team ... if you thought you were to vote for the players making the team then you should cancel your vote and vote again. Apologies for the confusion but I think it is clear enough now. Today's Chris Brown story has the question how many wide receivers will the Bills keep. Will it be five or six? I am excluding Brad Smith from this discussion since he will make the roster as a quarterback. So, how many of the 11 receivers on the roster right now will be cut before opening day? Who will be gone? Any surprises? If you look at the depth chart today the top six are: Stevie, David Nelson, Donald Jones, Derek Hagan, and Naaman Roosevelt. Only Session is eligible for the Practice Squad, which if he shows any ability I think he will be the one receiver to land there. Because of our spread offense, I think Chan and Buddy will keep six receivers. My picks to make the roster are: Stevie, Donald Jones, David Nelson, TJ Graham, Derek Hagan, and my surprise is Clowney. So make your picks ...
  15. This was a rant that a mature individual just does not make ... perhaps the comments about too many hits could be providing insight into the career of a guy with potential that never succeeded. I am sure that as his career fizzled there wasn't the community collective pat on the back every time he showed up at the Galleria but attitude is frequently a two-way street and if he acted like he was something special people anywhere are sure to turn their backs on them. Frankly, I was a hopeful fan from the start but he was the perfect fit for our team from the first decade of this century ... key drops, missed blocks, and lost potential Somehow I cannot recall him working out in the community to do more for the Bills than play football. I agree ... I cannot imagine him receiving the invite to Alumni Sunday or the chance to speak at the Quarterback Club. Josh ... time to be a big boy and stop living a life as a privileged whiner!
  16. Hondo ... it's preseason and yes it is very optimistic but when I started going through the roster with the thought of this team actually taking what is on paper and making it real then the names started popping onto that Pro Bowl list. 1 - Can you really deny a Bills defensive lineman from the Bowl? I think Kyle's motor is on full steam to accomplish beyond what he did in his Pro Bowl season when he had no support. However, I can see Mario making it or Dareus. If the Bills are winning and having the ferocious defense we expect then at least one lineman makes the team and at least one is second team. If this line is the BUFFALO BLIZZARD that consumes quarterbacks and running backs then I can easily see two making the starting team and one on second team. 2 - Taking the D line's potential as a key factor I have no doubt that Jarius is going to be a name known throughout the league. He has already proven that he is the total package at FS with a nose for the ball. His ball hawking skills will be enhanced by panicked quarterbacks trying to throw the ball away to avoid the sack so his interceptions should be approaching his rookie total. I think he is a lock for the Pro Bowl. 3 - Our offensive line allowed the fewest sacks of any line last year. The team rushing average is right there at the top too. The offense will get more on field time this year thanks to the D and how can you not include a Bills OL on the Pro Bowl team. Wood makes the most sense because if he returns to the level he was playing at last year I can't think of a better center. However Levitre's abilities at LG make him a fair choise too or even Urbik at RG. 4 - Ok, Fred Jackson is a sentimental pick and I am not sure if he will be able to get the touches he was getting last year when he would have made the Pro Bowl if he had not been injured. But, since he is perhaps the most important Bill I think he will get quality touches and be in a position to not only make the Pro Bowl but if the Bills are in the playoff mix he could be the MVP. 5 - Stevie and Fitz for second team honors are obviously depenedent on the team's winning record. With less pressure to always have to come from behind or get back on the field after the opposing team scored, I think we will see more of the Fitz from the beginning of last season and our experience will allow Stevie to get the passes he needs plus Stevie is making a name for himself and we all know Pro Bowl votes are not always based on field performance but I think what he will do in 2012 along with his image will get him at least second team status. 6 - Gilmore again is a hope that can only be based on what we have heard from rookie camp, OTA's and mini-camp. Every indication is that he is going to be Mr. Shut Down and the voters like rookies who do well. Another long shot here if Barnett is accurate in his predictions is Sheppard. So yea the glass is more than half full ... ask me again in September and maybe I won't be dreaming quite as much. GO BILLS!
  17. This is the simple answer ... unfortunately this will be a year when a decent number of Bills make the PRO BOWL squad but because it is scheduled the week before the Super Bowl those Bills players will be preparing for the big game! The cool thing is this Bills team really seems to be all about being a team player but that being said, here are my candidates to be on the Pro Bowl squad in name only: OFFENSE STARTERS Eric Wood - (one of the Bills' linemen is going to make it this year) Fred Jackson - Possibly the league's MVP OFFENSE SECOND TEAM Andy Levitre Stevie Johnson The Amish Rifle DEFENSE STARTERS Kyle Williams Marcel Dareus Jairius Byrd DEFENSE SECOND TEAM Mario Williams Stephon Gilmore
  18. Oh well ... I guess once your loving wife is gone it's time to date someone your granddaughter's age ...
  19. should the words "coaching abilities" even be associated with those two unless it is for a small specific area of concentration? I am not a Ryan fan but he definitely can coach a defensive unit better than our two could ... still can't see Maybe ever being anything more than he has shown to date, which is basically not much.
  20. Although we have been round and round with Vince Young what the heck another thread and another lengthy discussion. Something happened to his mental ability to play the position back in Tennesee. We all know about tossing his equipment and the battles with Fisher. Last year here in Eagles' Country everyone was excited to have him on what he made the mistake of labeling THE DREAM TEAM but when he had the chance to get into action he seemed to be confused, which is evident by panic in many of his passes that led to interceptions. He brings a lot more to the table than Thigpen but the Bills run a very complicated offense so the real battle will be Vince versus Vince's ability to learn the Gailey system effectively enough to be worth the risk. It is clear that Young knows he needs help and his frequent references to coming to Buffalo because of Coach Lee show a degree of maturity and yes intelligence to me. No, he will not be the midseason started unless he makes the team and Fitz gets hurt. This is Fitz's year. By signing a one year contract, I think Young wants to show he can fit into a system, develop under Lee and then be a valuable asset on the free agent market next year putting his running abilities, long range passing skills and whatever Lee teaches him to use for some other team. A good signing by the Bills ... if he makes the team he does add something special into our Wildcat concepts. GO BILLS!
  21. Another one of Buddy's great pick-up's ... I still remember the complaints but what we ended up with is a very solid right guard that no one is talking about replacing. way to go BUDDY!!! GO BILLS!!!
  22. I didn't click because Pan has gotten me way too many times ...
  23. Definitely good stuff ... another Bill of high character, glad he's on our team!
  24. What has changed is the media's approach to the Bison's. When I was growing up in the 60's and early 70's with the Bison's playing at the Rockpile and then in Niagara Falls, the News and the Courier Express gave the team extensive coverage. We were aware of the parent club's comings and goings. And, we were listening to Bison games all summer long (Stan Barron, I think Van did some games, and others handled the play by play and color commentary.)and our dads were bringing us to the ball park. Players like Johnny Bench graced the grass of War Memorial and we hosted the International League All Star game plus games against our parent clubs. Now when I come home to visit there is no Bison spirit ... the media only provides after thought coverage and that means that kids growing up in Western New York no longer are begging their dad's to take them to the game and no one is tuning into the games on the radio as they sit in their back yards. The spirit of baseball clearly died in Buffalo ... I can no longer brag to my neighbors who are fans of the Phillies or the Yankees (Very few make the mistake of being ... Mets' fans.) that up in Buffalo we pack the park for minor league baseball and if the stars were properly aligned we should have a major league team but no more ... no more and it is truly sad.
