  1. Well now if I need a blood transfusion I know I can call on David ... There are some items that really do not belong on TWEETS and FACEBOOK. I agree that athletes are in a position to encourage all of us to get tested for STD's, HIV, and now for us older guys Hep C. Of course prostate, colon, etc. need testing too ... but I do not need the results.
  2. One problem for another problem although Leodis is probably better on returns, which may be the only thing he does for the Bills this year with the quality group of young CB's we have. And, Leodis will be elsewhere next year at which time we will be probably drafting another CB to keep that backfield full.
  3. Because ... #1 - He is an above average defensive lineman who consistently pressures the quarterback and has decent range and speed. Sacks are not the sole qualifier for someone to be good although many on this board who don't like what Kelsay is paid think that you have to have loads of sacks to be worth the money. #2 - Coaches in more than one coaching regime have been supportive of Kelsay. He is not playing because he is just one coach's favorite ... he has played and been respected by all of his coaches. #3 - The other players respect him, you don't get named as captain if you are a low life scum who should be off the team.
  4. Time to stop worrying about Williams somehow needing Kelsay's number. 90 & 94 will both be part of this year's awesome Bills!
  5. Now we just need to make sure we have him signed for the future ... get it done buddy!
  6. NOPE ... nada ... Frankly, I like Chandler as our #1 tight end and with Pete Metzeelars in as our new TE coach I can only see brighter days ahead for him. Chandler is a team player whereas Winslow isn't Winslow doesn't work with teammates So, once again (I am consistent at least) I say let Mr. Winslow find a home with another team that is sinking into the sunset rather than being brought in to cause problems with a team on the rise.
  7. Uh ... they have yet to call plays together. It is easy to forget that our teams in the 60's had great coaches, our early 80's teams were not slouches (victory over Dolphins to end their domination over us), and of course the Levy years. When you combine the players we have with our coaches then perhaps they can be at the top. Key is how they make half time adjustments and wins.
  8. Clearly he is one of the fortunate ones who discovered in college that there is something that matters more than money, fame or success on the football field. It was great to read his testimony of faith. I keep a photo of that circle of prayer for Kevin Everett on my bookcase at work but never knew who led the prayer. At a very frightening moment in time the rush to prayer with the subsequent 'miracles' that were in place for Everett has always been one of the 'champuonship' moments of the Bills! Frankly I have never understood the vehement hatred some on this board have for Kelsay other than a jealousy of his salary as if the monies came out of their wallets. Year after year his play is above average and with his return to DE I expect another good year. I cannot see him being cut - he is a leader who is respected by his peers and coaches plus his contributions on the field are evident.
  9. Yikes ... you are right; I slipped and apologize Buddy is asleep at the wheel I'm so $%@#$@!! done with this team
  10. What the hell is wrong with Buddy ... Graham isn't signed. The Bills never can get it done ... RALPH IS CHEAP ... they all hate our coaching staff ... FIRE CHAN bring in anyone else ... we need POLIAN who can get things done ... You would think Buddy could get the 3rd rounder deals done before the 1st and 2nd round picks. I am so disgusted ... never going to another Bills' game ... this ruins my day!!! When are we going to get a good management team in place???
  11. Also CONGRATS!!! I took my girls to their first game when they were around 8. We had no problems and we were in the end zone. Have to admit that some of the outside the stadium activities were more bothersome but the Bills have been great about creating the Family Section and the Family preseason game. Although my girls are now adults I would not hesitate to contact an usher/security if excessive cursing was going on in our section. As others have said ... good to have another Bills' fan in this world!
  12. Sadly this reflects how far behind the times that the Democrat-Chronicle has fallen. The Bills are finally getting their act together with Nix and Whaley is the next generation of great leaders who is learning on the job. Polian deserves to be up on the wall at The Ralph and I am thankful for what he did to build the team of the 80's-90's but to even suggest bringing him back would mean moving Gailey, Whaley, and Nix ... just a very stupid idea!
  13. I did not know him but as I read the link I was so touched by how this board's friendships are connected. Thanks for sharing your memories.
  14. We saw a glimpse last summer in the preseason of what he could be ... however, he has a lot of damage to recover from. If ... and even with all of these positive statements that is a big if ... he is healthy then it's clear that the Bills plan to have him at the DE spot in our rotation. I cannot imagine him going back into coverage. A healthy Merriman gives us 4 quality ends in Williams, Anderson, Kelsay (Yes, he is not going anywhere.), and Merriman. When you think about what Kyle Williams and Dareus will be doing in the middle of the line it will be total havoc for offenses.
  15. According to a Chris Brown story ( 88 roster spots taken two to go) yesterday on the Bills' homesite, the Bills had 88 on the roster so this signing leaves one more slot without having to make any cuts. The Tanney story has such a potential upside that I hope he gets a shot at the last roster slot as our development QB. He appears to have met Gailey's primary requirement of being able to learn quickly plus Gailey implied he liked his talent. "I like his quick throwing motion. He seems to have a strong arm. He seemed to pick up things fairly well."
  16. If you were asked in January, would you trade Demetrius Bell to the Philadelphia Eagles for Vince Young how many of you would have jumped all over that deal? In essence, the Eagles received a LT whose ailments may prevent him from ever playing a full season and the Bills received a former Pro-Bowl quality quarterback who has won the big game (BCS Bowl)! Living in Eagles Country, I watched some of Young's personal issues rise up again last season but his main problem was calling the Eagles 'The Dream Team,' which ticked off Andy Reid and led to a lot of comments from the public and teammates. To me he gives us a quality #2 quarterback if Fitz gets hurt but also a defense-challenging Wild Cat quarterback who can get those short yards that Brad Smith gets running but who can also step back and throw the ball to a streaking speed receiver like Graham, which is something Smith can't do. I think Chan is the type of coach who will be able to keep Young's personal issues under wraps and this one year contract is good for both sides!
  17. You never know with those 5th round picks ... Kyle Williams for example ... but when you have a chance to be part of the National Football League, I do not understand why some draft picks don't get the contract done. Carder and his agent are smart, he can spend every waking hour at the RALPH impressing the coaches and learning the system. We will have to see if he has the physical make-up to play LB but he sure seems like an excellent choice for ST! Frankly, with the new wage scale the number one picks should all be signed and in camp early too!
  18. If I could stomach opening up the GR vault to listen again I'd provide the direct quote but it was there ... and related to not knowing what to do with Spiller. This 'rant' was just a reflection that there are so many better potential hosts for a sports radio show's afternoon drive time than these two. Their knowledge and discussion points fit better on the midnight shift ...
  19. Ok ... I listened to the news conference and then my stomach started churning because BULL and SCHLEP were the ones who came on the air. And, then I had to hear "the bad news" element of their report. The bad news element was plain foolishness just the two of them always searching for a list to go over rather than talking football with evidence that they know what's going on with the Bills or any other sports. Just who gave these guys their jobs? They decided to try to make themselves more important that the story. Alright need to turn them off because now they are getting into Spiller's role proving that they don't understand football ("the ratio"). Final note ... WAY TO GO BUDDY!!! You kept your word ... the BILLS are on the move!
  20. Well ... I was a general manager. There are photo's of me in various stadiums with binoculars. I also have been spotted walking around college campuses with official NFL logo clothing on ...
  21. Lmao San Jose!!! Guess I have become predictable ... So all of us with any sense on the count of three shout NO! One .... Two ... Three ... NOOOOOOO!!!
  22. Haha ... I just get tired of those who post on the board that we should pick up every team's cut. Players who are cut at this time of year by losing teams usually have baggage. Thanks for your concern for my well being, I have recovered and am not going near the emoticon button anymore tonight.
  23. :worthy:   YES YES YES YES ... let's sign every player who gets cut because of their large contract especially if they had a good season a year or two ago. This is like a dream come true ... winning the lottery ... a chance to not play our guys but to play players other teams felt were not worth the money. At this time of the year ... before these silly draft picks get into camp it will do a lot for their morale and the team's future to bring in CB's who get cut, defensive ends who get cut, offensive linemen who get cut ... wow ... the pickings are all ours to be had. I so want to continue the dysfunctional experience of the buffalo bills. What a great post ... what a fantastic idea ... BUDDY GET IT DONE!!!
  24. It once again is clear that many on this board should be reaching out to their local 'I Need Help' hotlines. Even as an attempt to humor the hungry throngs on this board this posting fails but should be a warning to the author that all is not well upstairs.
