  1. Got to love a player who stands up and wants all the other players to do the same. This Bills' team's 'character' continues to be a building block but they are also talented. Can't wait to see Eric mauling the opposing defenses again this season!
  2. My bad ... apologies around ... guess I deserved being lumped with the haters ... was a bad moment in time when I replied .. mea culpa ... Keep up the non-journalistic fun countdown ... I'll take a peek at future ones too ...
  3. Promo ... is this a delayed posting? The schedule has been out for quite a while. Check the BILLS' website.
  4. THANKS!!! Always appreciate links to interesting stories that I would not have found myself. Really appreciate it ... was a good read!!
  5. Ok ... I feel like I do when I get pulled into the Peter Pan link. From all acounts Mike Jasper is a quality human being! He apparently is dating a gal from North Tonawanda. He is really working hard to become an NFL level player. All that being said ... when you look at our offensive line's depth I find it very difficult to imagine a situation where Jasper makes it to the final 53. I would assumee that he will be groomed for another year on the PS. Would be great if I am wrong because this Bills' team is all about quality character players who can really play the game. If he made the squad because he has elevated his talent to that next level it would be reason to celebrate! Now as for these threads and links about '# whatever is the most important player' on the Bills ... I am not going to add any additional visits to that blog, which I now have found two times to be very limited in scope, insight and newsworthyness.
  6. CLASS ACT ... professional athletes who give back with sincerity!
  7. Wow ... I think you are the only one who hasn't been totally impressed with Glenn's performance from day one. Nix, Gailey, and every report have him ahead of schedule and perhaps our best pick in the draft even though Gilmore is playing great too. It has been years since I played OL so I do not claim to be an expert but I always pay attention to line play so in the limited video's I have seen Glenn is the real deal. Now, perhaps you have been at field level for the rookie camp, the OTA's and the mini-camp and have insight none of us have. And, as to this OL and its depth ... WOW!!!
  8. Potter is the kicker! I think Glenn and Gilmore are definitely going to be major contributors from week one ... Gilmore will probably get burned a few times but he'll end up being a top corner. Potter I think will be a major contributor from the first game on .. the surprise move! But it's possible the majority of this year's picks will be playing a special role on the field!
  9. There's no doubt that he plays a major role for the Bills ... last year before his injury he was a monster out there and it sounds like he is ready to pick up where he left off!! But ... Fred Jackson is frankly the most important player on the Bills!
  10. No it just applies to the "national" games each week. Those being broadcast only in 'local markets' will still have a 4pm start time. With the NFL adding more and more commercials for our viewing pleasure, I think all of the late games should start at 4:30. This would prevent having to miss the end of some games in order to watch the start of others. It is now so rare to have a game stay under 3 hours ... miss the good old days. Just hope that by the time we are playing out west our record merits the Bills being 'national' games!
  11. Wow ... I was about to write the identical post ... And, someone else already noted that not a single NFL team has grabbed this incredibly wonderful wasted talent for their teams. Not a single general manager has felt that signing him was worth the risk of screwing with their team chemistry and not a single coach has sat down with their GM and pleaded PLAXO will jump high in the sky in the end zone we must have him. Time to let the preseason begin ... check out our wide out's and see who will step up to join Stevie and Nelson and Chandler as part of what should be a rather potent offense. Time for PLAXO to sit back and watch his highlight reels ...
  12. Frankly ... I go to a football game to watch the game as it happens on the field while enjoying the energy of the crowd around me. I don't need a lot of technology but I appreciate instant replays after every play rather than selective replays. I also want to have a running out of town scoreboard. Statistical updates are nice but that's what I have Murph in my ear for (And for so many wonderful years Van.). I do not need a stadium with bells and whistles ... I want great sight lines and reasonable priced tickets. I believe that at THE RALPH I get what I want from a game. It's nice to have the video screens in the halls so when I am off to get food/beer or hit the men's room I can still see the game. It's three hours of live action ... if I really want a techno game I'll sit at home with my NFL TICKET plus RED ZONE and just keep my head spinning.
  13. Get her done Buddy ... we need an old washed up quarterback who is quite vocal on this team. I sure hope Buddy keeps an eye out for every over 30 player who no one else wants to help build some age into the Bills!
  14. So true ... all those future Pro-Bowlers who we saw out on the preseason gridirons who ended up being McDonald's counter people. There are two values to the preseason ... 1. Doing a quick evaluation of your starters in a real game situation to determine what minor fixes might be needed or which players might need to be nudged back to second string. 2. Check out your second stringers. There will be 90 players at the first preseason game on each sideline. Out of those 90 currently on the Bills' roster, I can see 52 who are almost guaranteed to make the team or the PS (see below), which leaves very little room for some free agent or rookie to make the team. That is why preseason games really matter because the game situations can make it or break it especially with their special team play. One major risk to the preseason ... 1. Injuries ... either physical or to the psyche. If someone is awful in the preseason it may do a head trip with them at the start of the season and obviously if a key player on the team gets hurt on a stupid preseason game meaningless play that can turn a season right around. Here's my End of June prediction of players who will either be on the starting roster or the practice squad as of September 9 (Depending on the Bill's position decisions, there are a couple of wide-outs that I have not listed such as Naaman, Hagan, Aikin, Clowney or Martin who might make the team so they could be added as one additional spot not available for the rest of the 90 and likewise with offensive linemen.). SEPTEMBER 9 on the roster or practice squad M. Asper/C. Brown (one makes it) - M. Anderson - N. Barnett - D. Batten - R. Brooks - N. Bradham - J. Byrd - T. Carder - A. Carrington - S. Chandler - M. Darreus - D. Dickerson - M. Easley - D. Edwards - R. Fitzpatrick - S. Gilmore - C. Glenn - T.J. Graham - C. Harriston - M. Jasper - F. Jackson - S. Johnson - S. Johnson - D. Jones - C. Kelsay - A. Levitre - R. Lindell - T. McGee - C. McIntyre - L. McKelvin - S. Merriman - A. Moats - C. Moorman - K. Morrison - D. Nelson - E. Pears - S. Potter - C. Rinehart - J. Rogers - Z. Sanders - B. Scott - D. Searcy - K. Sheppard - B. Smith - CJ Spiller - T. Thigpen/V. Young - K. Urbik - A. Williams - K. Williams - M. Williams - G. Wilson and E. Wood It is such a good feeling to realize that for once the Bills have very few holes in their roster for the opening of training camp.
  15. Thanks ... no I am not Jim and no I wasn't out to bury his past but we can all buy his book to discover his foibles. These days I want the good news and interesting side stories so Hondo I really appreciate the update (And, no I am not Jim nor do I worship the ground he walks on because like me he does put his pants on one leg at a time.).
  16. How does Jim Kelly's past have any relevence to Pete's humble behavior? Kelly has moved beyond his past becoming a man of faith , a faith that has apparently strengthened his marriage to Jill. To include allegations related to what may or may not have happened in the past about someone who has boldly admitted to his shortcomings just makes no sense especially if the poster's intent was to tell us about the 'Red Headed Woodpecker' nickname and our tight end coach's humbleness. There is no titilation value in my mind of rehashing stories about a man who has moved forward in his life. As noted in another reply ... I guess that we will be subject to some pretty off the wall threads from now until training camp. I only hope that the moderators use some judgement in closing out threads that have no benefit to the discussion of the Buffalo Bills.
  17. Simply amazing ... Can only imagine what other well thought out threads will be popping up between now and training camp!
  18. A great pic by the Bills and Buddy worked the media planting the idea he could only play guard. From all of the OTA and mini-camp reports plus his college video this kid is going to be very solid at LT for years to come (Didn't laugh at the sidebar comment in the story about Philadelphia ... we only send them our undrafted LT's). This year's draft combined with last year's has created a very solid team of young players. I really can't think of any team with as much potential success as the Bills last two drafts appear to have given us.
  19. Thanks ... obviously you have us all on the edge but you are always a trustworthy and upfront poster.
  20. I agree ... but it is always frustrating to wait and since it was posted under the ownership issue makes you wonder. There's nothing on Florio's site nor anywhere else other than the posting here ...
  21. THANKS! I try to look at our lineup from a non-biased position but every time I start to dissect this Buffalo Bills team all I can see is a team that will be very tough to beat. The defense should be wowing everyone right from the start and that means that the offense will get the ball more, which means less pressure and more points. Brady is at his weakest when he is pressured and boy is he going to be pressured. We should be right in the mix for the division ... would love to see January games at THE RALPH!!!
  22. Ok ... perhaps you have only listened to football games but I am sure through the posts to this thread you have discovered what happens to right handed quarterbacks, As for the left tackle situation. I disagree with other posts because it still is a key position since defenses have pass rushing specialists and also to help get the running game to the outside. You don't need a Pro-Bowl player at LT to get to the next level but it's clear what a difference a good player can make. Last year's results with the Bell-Hairston combination helped us to be the #14 offense and the leader in sacks.
  23. When pants and shirts that look worn began selling in the stores and when showing off our boxers became a fashion statement. I agree with others ... the bill needs to be bent, the sticker taken off and the end result is that this hat has nothing new going for it! Guess I'll be happy wearing the ones I already own this season!
  24. The thing that amazes me is how many on this board were looking for instant gratification when Nix took over. All the incredibly negative threads and comments. We have a solid general manager who knows what it takes to compete in the NFL and from his open approach we have all heard how bad the team was when he took over (As Gomer Pyle would say 'SURRRRPRIZE SURRRRPRIZE!). Obviously we need to see what this team can do on the field but look at them ... they are high motor players with superb character who are big and fast and hard hitting and skilled. Even the most blatent pessimist has to be honestly getting angry because their pessimism no longer has a place with the Buffalo Bills. As a New Jersey based Buffalo Bills' season ticket holder, I can't wait for the season to begin!
