With QBs, its mainly about accuracy, anticipation, and ability to read a Defense. All the armstrenth in the world cannot replace accuracy or reading a defense, while anticipation can greatly make up for poor armstrength. Take arm stength out of the arguement and Locker/Mallet fall out of the equation very quickly. Thats why I dont like either of them as much as Luck. Struggle to read the D and both have major accuracy issues.

Everybody In The Raiders Organization Wanted To Cut
High Mark replied to Steely Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In other news, Dwayne Wright was released by the Steelers.... Say want you want about Davis, but our Bills blow just as many picks as his Raiders, and his team is just as talented as our if not more. Heyward-Bey over Crabtree was as dumb as Maybin over Orakpo. Our franchises are earily similiar. -
I will give him that, and even the last 4 rounds of the draft. But at some point you have to say "Hey Tom, just focus on the guys who are the late rounders/undrafteds, and I'll find someone else to handle the top rounds"

Teams could start signing PS players at noon today.
High Mark replied to Steely Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont see Calloway making the PS. IIRC he was released at the first roster cut to 75 - making me think he has to be at the bottom of the barrel. Roosevelt I think is a great PS guy as he looked prety impressive and is local. Would like to see Coffman but I dont think he is elligable bc of the nine active game thing (maybe I am mistaken). In either case, he could be added to the active roster over that JP guy. -
he has been pretty bad for a few years now. Would be a good back up with experience though. HOnestly though, the Bills may be the only team in the league he could start for. Maybe he would come here.

How long untill we see Nelson as the #2? My bet is week 9. Earlier if Johnson is injured.

HOLY INTERCEPTIONS! BILLS KEEP 10 DBs???
High Mark replied to Dr. Trooth's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Special teams would be my bet. Also, playing 6-7 DBs in on a play is not rare. I think most teams keep a lot of DBs, and most teams arent as deep at the position as we are. -
Bills should claim Max Jean-Gilles
High Mark replied to Maddog69's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our OL interior needs a lot of work. It is likely overlooked as the Ts suck more. Maybe not promised, but it wouldnt take him long to take over as a starter. Hangartner is a major weakness. See above please. -
Ill take the G with starts, cant be worse than our backups. Never heard of him though. Can I say "I told you so" yet for Lefevor, or do I have to wait the 3 years still...
-
At worst he could fill Nelsons role for 4 weeks.
-
I watched a lot of Grons in Detroits third PS game. He looked like a very good blocker and a fairly athletic pass catcher. I doubt he is let go, he was too good not to make that Detroit team. But yes he could make our team with Nelsons suspension and our injuries.

I just dont get the logic with trading draft picks. How is Olsen not worth a third? Go back to 2004 and look at the Bills 3rd rpund picks. *Tim Anderson - Never more than an overlooked role player while with the Bills. *Kevin Everett - Injured/retired but even when he was on the team he never looked like a starter. *Ashton Youboty - CB who is currently behind McGee/McKelvin/Florence/Corner. Also G. Wilson/Scott come on the field as a third safety before Youboty. *Trent Edwards - Currently starting QB in a make or break year. Easily could have been replaced as the starter by now. *Chris Ellis - A back up that may have finally broken into the line up *Traded away in the move up that netted us Levitre Ok so of the last 5 3rd round picks that resulted in players (not counting the Levitre trade up) we have 1 and a half starters in Edwards and (maybe) Ellis. Ellis has never really played before this season (we hope he plays this season) Edwards could have easily played his way off the team by now but has looked good this pre season. But again, how is a starting, quality TE, who this team desperatly needs, not worth a 3rd round pick? He is absolutely worth a 3rd. Just compare who you could have, and who Olsen is. Its worth the investment for immediate starting production.

Have ever you hated a player in the NFL?
High Mark replied to Jim in Anchorage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
NO but Mercury Morris is a Dicktard. He goes around ranting about how good the 74 Phish were and how great he is, yet he wasnt even a a feature RB. Way to ride the gravy train and live pff that the rest of your life. PS Brady is by far my most hated bc he is going to be a first ballot HOFer and he isnt even that good. -
Why? He practiced for 2 days and has sat out everything since. If anything, this is the perfect option to PS him bc he hasnt seen any preseason action, and hope no one else picks him up. If they do, then just elevate him. Might be a blessing in disguise.

Shaun Rogers punishment by league

In the second grade they started gaving us rubrics for how our essays/projects/tests would be graded..... I think the NFLPA needs to give Goodell one ASAP. -
Cornell Green is awful!!!!!!!
High Mark replied to Johnny Hammersticks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because Hangartner was the only player the Bills went out and signed in the begining of FA, and he played terrible last season. At the end of the year, Pro Football Focus ranked all the centers in some kind of rankings and he was 32 of 32. Its been linked a number of times. This was pre-Whaley Dude, Nix was a college scout, not a coach or pro personell guy. I bet Nix barely watched much of Green in years past. Im sure he did his homework this year, but its not like Nix watched every game in Greens Raiders career... Green is on his 6th team (counting Tampa twice bc of two seperate stints) since 2000. I assume there is a reason that 5 other teams deemed him not worth keeping. PS I wish we still had ole Langston -
Meredith is in at LT, still going against Odom, the Bengals starter. He is looking pretty impressive. I like him more than Bell honestly.

Our Current Uniforms Really Suck *****
High Mark replied to Dr. Zaius's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The standing Buffalo by itself is ok, but it looks like Gods gift to uniforms on the white helmet with the grey facemask. Awesome. -
Just some random thoughts as I re-watch the tape delayed Bungals game. Feel free to add your own comments. - K. Green allows a bad sack that kills the first drive. He is beat easily by Michael Johnson, who dips under Green and gets the sack without even being touched. A very bad showing by Green. - Spiller looses 11 yards on a run that he tries to bounce outside when he should have ran upfield off of Woods arse after a nice pull. There was no real hole to go through, but bouncing it outside was not the right move. Spiller I think realized it after the fact. Jackson could have had a 3-4 yard gain on the play. - on the 3rd down following that big loss, Hangartner just snaps the ball and proceeds to let the man lined right up in the A gap run straight passed him as he blocks no one. Luckily Wood was able to slow him up after his man ran wide on a stunt. We need to upgrade the C postion. - SPiller has some nice cuts to run upfield, bu he could have had a big gain if he had bounced it outside after getting by some defenders. Still a very nice run. - On the Parrish TD, both Levitre and WOod anchor down well blocking some DTs one on one. After two drives its evident these two are having a nice game. - The Bills run D is being eaten up. It is obvious that the Bills miss K. Williams (is he out with injury?). Spencer Johnson is filling in his spot when they are in a 40 front. - Troup/Edwards were washed out on a run play fairly easily. The Bills didnt have a great run D last season, they probably wont be much better this season. - On the Bungals 2nd TD, Kelsay is too unathletic to make any kind of play in space, and MCKelvin blew his coverage on the play. It was funny to match TO trip over his feet in the background though. - On Spillers nice 19 yard run, he bounced outside and got his yards purely on speed. If the Bills could open just a little bit of a hole for this guy, he could be great. He will need to run it between the Ts eventually though (last time he bounced it outside in a similiar situation he lost 11 yards) - That was an awesome blitz by Davis. - On the long pass to Parrish, Wood and Levitre make some solid combo blocks on either side on Hangman to give Trent a lot of time. If not for them holding up so well Bell prob would have allowed a sack bc Trent coudlnt have stepped up like he did. - On the screen to McIntry, You can see Levitre on the ground holding on a D linemans foot. It looks Hilarious on TV if you see it - Every replay I catch myself watching the OL. Wood/Levitre are handling their matchups so well, Hangartner is doing a lot of standing around as niether is really in need to help. These guys are gonna be very good IMO - Our ST are missing Bobby April bad. - The announcers credit a nice blitz pressure to Maybin, when Maybin was handled easily once again. Whitner lets up on the ball when it looks like he could have had a shot at a pick. with 3 mins left in the 2nd, on a third down, Maybin got around the LT but slipped and fell. He may of had a sack if he didnt fall over! Thats promising rihgt? - Green is beaten again by Johnson during the two minute. Edwards was able to throw the ball away - Killer block by Levitre on the screen to Spiller. Hangman just runs downfield and hits no one. He could have taken on a DB and sprung Spiller for the TD. I am not a big fan of his. - Another good block by Levitre on the TD run. Spiller in the open field is great. We need mroe holes from the OL. - Is it just me or does Meredith look better than Bell? Bell may be hampered by injury but I think Meredith is playing better at this point. -MAYBIN! Has a nice Spin that beats the LT, beats a double team by benching the LG, and gets teh "sack" by drawing an intentioal grounding. That was the best play of his career to date. - Maybin plays well the next two plays. He is able to bench the LT off him on the next play - which is a big sign from him (although he is forced inside and Cincy runs for a big gain outside, and on the next he gets around the LT forcing the QB to step up into D Edwards. Nice pass rsh from the DL on the play. Mayb string together a few nice plays there. - Sorry about the typos, I was typing fast. I am calling it quits at half. GO BILLS!

I agree. Last offseasn the FOs top target on the FA market was Hangartner. He only went on to be the worst starting C in the league. When your TOP FA TARGET is the WORST AT HIS POSITION IN THE ENTIRE LEAGUE, you are severely lacking.... Another mind boggler was signing dockery to a 7 yr 49 million dollar contract with 18 guarenteed, when the consensous top FA guard that season was Eric Stienbach, who recieved a 7 yr, 49.5 million dollar contract with onyl 17 guarenteed. WhWhat were they thinking? We all know Dockery sucked and was cut, and Stienbach is still a quality player on the Browns. WTF? -

I am re-watching the tape delay of the game now. Green allowed the sack on the first drive which killed/helped kill the drive. We really need upgrades along the Ol, and our D pass rush. -
He only looked good agaisnt the Bungals scrubs, many of whom wont be on the Bungals much longer. Ill be impressed when he can compete with the starters
