Then there is the situation with Nic Harris
High Mark replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Way to generalize when you have no idea what kind of weight he could carry. And to clarify, our coaches want small linebackers so we cant stop the run, duh. -

Ok, and I completely agree with you about our drafting of special teams players. I thought today Harris played more timid than I have ever seen him play, whether his 4 years in college or the pre season. Its amazing what a couple weeks under Jauron can do. -

I didnt say he never worked out. Jamal Lewis claims he has never lifted a weight in his life, yet he ran for 2000 yards. When you are naturally 230 - like Harris - and trying to play safety you dont need weights. Now he is an NFL LB and could get to 260 in a heartbeat if he wanted to. Why would he aim to do that when our coaches want him at 235? -
I am more worried about Ellison being ok.... Talk about addition by subtraction
-
He aims to destroy the very things that make America America. I struggle to see his patriotism.

Wrong and wrong. Nic Harris never lifted weights in college in an effort to stay light enough to play saftey. Give him a chance to hit the gym. He is also bigger than all of our other LBs minus Poz. I am not talking about their listed weights, I am talking about how big they actually are. Second, Harris has similair speed to Byrd (40 time wise), who is still a DB. He is clearly the most athletic LB on the team. Ellison sucks and should be cut. I rejoiced when he was out of the game. Now if you want to B word about Maybin, go for it. The guy is the same size as TO. I wonder how quick TOs first step is.... -
Johnson vrs Evans Akoye vrs McCargo Duane Brown vrs Mike Williams Mario Williams vrs Maybin Their picks have been earlier in the draft, but having high draft picks hasn't helped the Bills land quality talent. Cant say much about the later rounds, but they do draft better in round one, just saying.

I was referring to his obvious lack of effort on plays not designed to go his way (ie run plays) and his body language on the bench (when you see him sitting by himself just staring at the ground or into space). Singletary wouldnt accept that.
-
I wonder what Bills Singletary would bench if he were our coach? My guess is TO (attitude), Ellison (horrible play), and Scott (because Byrd has been solid, and I think Whitner will be back starting)

Ryan Clady - hindsight

All Jim Leonard is make plays. He is the perfect example of a guy who is not the best athlete but is just a football player. You could win a SB with a team of 22 guys like Leonard. Rex Ryan - the one man who knows more about Leonards football abilities than anyone else - made him a priority target this offseason. Just saying. PS George Wilson? Really?

Why is Everyone so Enamored with Texans?

I just wish Steve Slaton was on my fantasy team..... -
The one player the Bills let walk - and I was ok wiht - was Clements. As far as Fletcher, P.Wlliams, S. Adams, Winfield, Greer, and J.Leonard go, not so much.

Jeff Fisher Could Be On The Outs In Tennessee
High Mark replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like the idea of bringing in fired head coaches as coordinators. HC become HC by being the best of the best OCs/DCs. Mike Nolan in Dever via SF, Dick Lebaeu in Pitt via Cincy, Mularkey in ATL via Buffalo, and Cam Cameron in Balt via Miami. These guys are great DC/OCs who failed as HC. Dont undervalue that experience as a HC and how it can positively affect their performance as a coordinator, and help bring along a first time HC. I believe there is added value to these coaches also because it is not likely they get a second chance at a HC job in the near future - which means they will stick around for a long while. IMO we dont need a proven HC (although I would like one), a good alternative could be bringing in a firey assistant (like J.Daniels in Den) then bringing in 2 fired HCs to be OC/DC, say John Fox or Delrio or Fisher if they are fired. Maybe a more likely scenario for Buffalo. -
Buff News- Maturing Talent jells for Texans- compared to Bills
High Mark replied to Red's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont know who is in charge of our drafting in the top 3 rounds, but he should be fired. I dont know who is in charge of drafting in the later rounds, but he should be promoted. Guys like Butler, K.Williams, and McGee are the cornerstones of this team (not to mention other selcetions like Greer and J.Leonard who have left). Others like Nelson, Corner, Harris, Ellis, Lankster, S. Johnson are young and have promise. Our late round selections out perform our early round guys. Our scouting department needs a lot of help, but not a 100% overhaul. Maybe bring in someone to fix the first 2-3 rounds, and let the others continue to find late round gems. -
I didnt drink the kool-aid then, and Im still not now......

I believe the Rams, Browns, Bucs etc still have "chances" too. -
That is a bit harsh. Wood and Levitre are more than capable starters. Hang is solid but I would feel better if we were so solid on the OL he as a backup - which is not saying he cant start and be solid I just would like to be more dominant up front. Bell and Meredith are backups I agree. People want these players to develope, well let them develope as backups. IF they develpoe (not all players do FYI) then they can be starters. NOT the other way around. OL is a position players dont normally need time to develope. Rookies come in every season and play like stud veterns. Late round picks are different I understand, but Bell has not lived up to the expectations and IMO has not improved much from what I saw of him last preseason. He does not play strong or quick enough, and is a penalty machine. Unlike most I was fairly impressed with Meredith lask week. I would have expected much worse from him blocking Peppers every play - dont get me wrong he was not the best but no worse than the others we have had in, and they werent blocking the most physically dominant DE in football.. As far as watching a player and seeing upside, I see a lot more with Meredith than Bell. He may only be a career RT though, which relegates him to backup duty with Butler coming back, who is still a ? at RT. Hopefully we can draft a top LT to start instantly, Move Butler back to G, Wood to Center, and Bell or Meredith can develope into the RT. That way Hang is the first OL off the bench no matter where the injury occurs (Butler kicks out to T, Wood to G etc.) It is still early, but the OL does need adressing - no one could argue differently.

According to Chris Carter center is teh second hardest position for a player to adjust to (second to QB). I bet the Bills wanted to ease Wood into the NFL. Who really cares, Wood has been great and I love how he plays. We need more guys like Wood on this p*ssy ass team.
