SDs replacement NT at 28 possibly? May not make it to our second.

Thigpen> Edwards/Fitz/Brohm. As a back up... why not?

McNabb to be traded soon? Only Reid stands in the way
High Mark replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Philly is a bunch of spoiled punks. They have had one of the best QBs in the league for years and complain. I hope they trade him and Kolb sucks, so they can see what a team without a QB looks like. Then I hope they go into a 10+ year playoff drought, and suffer through QBs like Rob Johsnon and JP Losman. Maybe then they would respect McNabb. -
I am glad we arn't running out signing Free Agents.

Lets look at our O for instance. As far as players that could potentially start for a playoff caliber team, I count 3 1/2. Evans, Jackson/Lynch(which I count as 1 entity bc they both cannot start), Levitre, and Wood (Wood is the half bc he may not play this season). So who exactly is going to play? I mean jus tlook at the OL. Hangartner and Leviter? Gimme a break Hangartner has no business starting for any team. We dont have a choice, its not possible to draft that many guys. Go after some FAs -
Its a smoke screen.

Never under estimate the power of a seasoned veteran leader.... something the playoff drought Bills have never truely had.

I for one am suprised. I think any GM who did their hw would have been after Scott hard once FA opened. I expected him to hold out for more money with another team. Love that we retain him.

Whitner is going to be the FS backup/potential Nickel guy. Even with Byrd last season, we had 3 safeties on the field quiet often. Whitner was never fully benched for Byrd Either. Bottom line is he is more valuable to this team than any draft pick trading him would produce. We need to get past this trade Whitner debate until he is in fact traded.

Exactly what A. Davis is going to be doing when he gets in the NFL. Stealing some teams money...

Alvin Bowen or Troy Smith.... Ill take Troy Smith.

Bills do not tender Incognito, Jonathan Scott
High Mark replied to Arkady Renko's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think this shows our hand come draft day. We tender every defensive player we have, and let the OL guys walk. We now need 2 OTs and a G that are starting caliber. Hang only plays center till Wood is back would be my guess. 3 new OL to START. As if our hands werent tied already... -
I would love to have another Spikes on this team. Too bad he cannot wear the 51 to make my jersey relevant again.

As far as tangibles go, he has them all. 6'3'', rocket arm, 4.5 forty, and displayed very good perfect footwork/mechanics at the combine (which was discussed in a vid I saw on NFL.com) http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-combine/0900...ab/QB-standouts About 2:20 in, Marriuci talks about his mechanics. He has only 1 year of starting experience (sat 3 years behind Pat White) but I think he is a great developmental QB. Had lots of success and despite his athleticism is more of a stand int he pocket kind of guy. He is more than likely going to fall because he did not have many opportunities to showcase his skills. Best developmental guy out there IMO.

Pierre-Paul 6-6 and 260 pounds, DL
High Mark replied to erynthered's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wasnt he only at SF for one season? I believe he spent 2 years at a JC. Maybe he red shirted though? Either way I dont think he is anywhere on the Bills radar at 9. D. Morgan would make more sense, or even B. Grahmam. -
Rich Gannon on Sirius Today Talking About Maybin
High Mark replied to Rico's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Count me in that group. I said Maybin was worth a 3rd round pick at most. Hell my memory is foggy, it may have been a 4th or 5th even. They have no one to blame but themselves. What we got with Maybin this season is EXACTLY what I expected to get. FWIW, Tan McShay had him as the 9th best prospect overall I believe. Knowing McShays talent - or lack thereof - that ranking sounds about right. -
Bills Tender Keith Freaking Ellison

No wonder I was so confused when my spell checker missed it! -

RFA Option for OT - Would this work?
High Mark replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like the thought, but do we get to pick which 1st rounder we give up? I would think the rule is you give up your first rounder, regardless of where it is. -
Bills Tender Keith Freaking Ellison
High Mark replied to Rzon604's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with that 100% - thats why I dont like relying on him moving forward. I dont like Hang at C either, but I feel the Bills simply dont have the luxury of moving forward without those guys. We just dont have any good players, starting wise or depth wise. Thats why Ellison is being retained. I think letting Incognito walk would be foolish because we just dont have anyone better and will be limited in bringing in anyone as good as him. My point is, if the Bills tendered Ellison because they dont have anyone else, shouldnt they tender Incog for the same reason? Like others have said... you can always cut him later. -
For those of you that actually like Bell
High Mark replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Peters is gone. Now lets draft a player just like him to play RT, and a player better than him to play LT, and a good G. Then we would have an OL! (no depth though) -
Bills Tender Keith Freaking Ellison
High Mark replied to Rzon604's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Im not arguing you personally, but couldnt the Ellsion defense work for Incognito too? IE: most fans say "No big deal with Ellison, we need the depth anyways" Well what about Incognito? Right now at G we have Levitre and...... well thats it. Wood is injured and if I were to guess will be moving to center once he is ready. So at best we have 1 1/2 guards on the entire roster (correct me if I am wrong but Simmons/McKinny are UFAs and Chambers is more or less a T, and not starting caliber by any means). We have more depth at LB than the OL. So if people are ok with Ellison being tendered, they should be clamoring for Incog to be tendered? Im not a big fan of his but our OL is in such shambles we need him desperately. That is unless we add 3 starting caliber OL this off season... which I dont see happening. As far as 3-4 personnel goes, Im certain we could go out and sign some UDFA rook who could play at least as well as Ellison, and that rook would have way more upside than the 4 year vet Ellison. Im not too certain I could say the same with Incognito... -

much appreciated Rzon. I will have to remember your name as far as a poster who actually knows something My understanding is that teams can tender a player AND work on a long term deal until a certain date, or maybe until the player signs the tender. Is that correct? How does it work? I would love to sign G. Wilson to a long term deal - but we have to tender him. Can we do both? Thank God. Any infor on my comments above about the long term deal? -
Well, I watched every game and after noticing just how bad he sucks - including getting put on his back 2-4 times a game - I concluded he must suck. Recently my conclusions were confirmed by a third party statistical analysis which can be viewed here: http://www.profootballfocus.com/articles.p...arc=&id=124 They have Hangartner as the worst [starting] center in the league (for pass blocking that is - he wasnt much better against the run but thats JMO) And think think he was the Bills #1 FA target last offseason....
