  1. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-combine/0900...ab/QB-standouts Skip to about 1:20 in the vid, check out the radar gun. Now Im not sure if thats as hard as he can throw, but he stepped into pretty good and from the looks of the drill and that guy being there with the radar gun, I cannot think of anything else they could be testing. IIRC, Cutlers was clocked in the 80s to put that in perspective. I googled that to check but didnt find anything, so if you know for certain another QBs ball speed please post.
  2. What makes anyone think he will carry that weight throughout his career? If you have four years of college to bulk up, you normally do so. Most of these players dont magically put on weight and keep it.
  3. What other positions could we upgrade at in FA? Peppers is the only other big name guy out there I can think of. Its one of those guys or no one, and IMO we just cannot compete with the wholes we have. Dansby is a great player and worth every penny
  4. We could easily sign AQ to an equivilant contract and get double the production.
  5. T.Williams/B.Campbell/C.Brown(usc). One of which should still be around at our 2nd rounder. I think at that pick, we will find more value at OT than NT anyways. The most value may be at OLB though. I dont see any value in the 2nd at QB or WR. We have holes all over so we have lots of freedom in the draft.
  6. IMO, WR is the least important position in football. A good QB with an OL that can block and a solid TE. WRs and RBs can be plugged in. Teams are not built around WRs - not SB winning teams anyways.
  7. Its nice to see that someone understands the difference in football schemes. That is the reason I am not thrilled about WIlliams as the NT. As a 2 gap End I think he will verge on being a PB caliber player - thats just a hunch from seeing him play for the past few years. I could see him moving inside on 3rd and longs to get more of a pass rush, but counting on him to be a 2 gap NT every down will result in another year of terrible rush D IMO. I have a feeling Cam Thomas is out man also. Althought I dont think we take him with our 2nd. My guess is we trade up to get him ala Levitre. With the depth there is at DT I think its possible he lasts that long.
  8. Just FYI to everyone, Jarret Brown is known more as a traditional pocket passer. He is a guy who likes to stand tall in the pocket and make throws. Yes he is very athletic and can run, but he really is the complete opposite of what Pat White was for the WV offense. This highlight tape shows a lot of him scrambling, but that really is not the norm for this kid. Just remember I could make a highlight tape of Losman looking like HOFer... I am a big fan of Brown and would love the Bills to get him to develop. He only has one year of starting experience but physically he has everything. He has a cannon, he is accurate, can throw on the run, is elusive in the pocket etc. If all the "Gailey likes mobile QBs" thing is true I bet we see him in Buffalo. He is a later round prospect with huge upside.
  9. Kelsay at OLB? Give me a break, this guy wasnt athletic enough to be a decent DE, now he is going to be in open space? Sh*t we have seen enough of him, whats does Gaileystill need to see?..
  10. http://blogs.buffalonews.com/billboard/201...ix-on-kyle.html Nix on Kyle Bills GM Buddy Nix seconded Chan Gailey's praise of defensive tackle Kyle Williams. The Bills think Williams can perform at nose tackle, at least on a rotational basis, in the new 3-4 defense, even though at 305 pounds he is not the prototypical size. “We did it some (in San Diego)," Nix said, of playing without a prototypical nose man. "Jamal Williams was hurt a lot for us. When he was out, we weren’t as good. We had to improvise and do some things with other guys that were smaller. Kyle Williams is an exception. You want to say 6-2, 6-3, 340 (at nose tackle). But there’s always exceptions to the measurables, and he’s one of them. He’s a playmaker. He’ll make plays at nose for us.” ---Mark Gaughan I cant say I am thrilled with this. I love Williams and all, but I think he could be a stud at DE, and think he will be a bit of a let down at NT. Besides, we are going to add some DL guys anyway, so why not add an NT and let Williams move to the 5 tech.
  11. I sure wont be missing them. TO a player, but he sure didnt try enough for me. Now, why hasnt Kelsay been cut?
  12. FWIW, Mayock had Maybin as his 4th best 3-4 OLB. Being ranked 4th best, and limited in scheme, one would think that would screw his draft status. I still dont think any NFL team would have taken him over Connor Barwins/Michael Johnson. Both of whom went in the third, but thats beside the point... Back to the OP. If what that exec said is true, his team will most likely be drafting Brandon Graham. A great football player who wont measure up well that the combine.
  13. Have a focused draft. This Draft is loaded with OL and DL talent. Thats our two biggest areas of weakness. When I say DL - I mean college DL players which includes Kindle and Graham. Those two guys would play OLB in our system. So what I am saying is the first three rounds should be players who would play OL/DL/OLB for the Bills. I would also try our #9 for Wilfork if they would take it, while trying to swing Matt Light into the deal for further compensation. Dont count on Maybin to do much of anything with his career. And dont draft LePukey.
  14. Thats the guy everyone wants to be a QB?
  15. Wow. Thats the first I have seen of Skelton, and I know its a highlight tape, but he does a lot of thing very very well. Its eveident he has a strong arm and a quick release. He also uses a very good pump fake. But he was very accurate with his throws, especially when he was off balence and didnt have his feet set. He was forced to make some very quick reads while under pressure and always seemed to find the open guy down field. He was making some fairly complex reads from what I saw. He also looked great moving in the pocket which we havent had in a QB in a long time. Its only one highlight tape, but it was also from 1 game. If he can play like that in every game, he is deffinately worth a pick. A lot more worth in that LePukey. O I almost forgot. The best part is he wear #19. Best # a QB can wear for sure. Johnny Uuuuuu!
  16. When do they do the kick slide drill. Thats what I am interested in. And as far as workout warriors, Okung has been tearing up the measurables too.
  17. I dont care what he weighs. Its his conditioning that matterrs. Big Pat has great conditioning and easily plays at 350+. I dont think Cody has the conditioning judging by the # of snaps he actually played for his teams D.
  18. More or less he was Jevon Snead when he came out. Everything you want from a QB on paper, but jsut was never any good. As for Tomlinson, he has stated his only goal now is to win a championship. Im sure we are high on his list.
  19. FWIW, I doubt any team really wants Spiller that much.
  20. I was just wondering why Lefevours height and weight were evidence that Nix know talent.... PS Lefevour doesnt have NFL talent. Maybe thats why I didnt follow you.
  21. Thats what Im saying. While the Bills have always gotten good players in the late rounds, we suck with our top pick, even with Nix we did. Who knows if Mix was 100% against it and they picked him anyways, I just doubt it.
  22. Well I guess to put it in perspective Snead is second largest with 10", and we all know how accurate he is.... I was really only asking to see if it could negatively affect Clausen.
  23. RBs are easy to replace, moreso than any other position. When you can trade a RB and get a starter at another position in return I am for it. If we traded Lynch, we could sign W.Parker/B.Westbrook/LT/Sproles and not miss a step.
  24. http://footballsfuture.com/ Has a nice spread sheet style list of players by position. They seem to update it every night. They add event results like 40, 3 cone, bench press, etc as they are performed. They also do some analysis of the drills once they get there. If you use a better site please post. I just noticed Clausens "hand length" was only 9". That seems small to me. I only bring it up bc wasnt the knock on Losman that his hands were just too small for the football and caused him to be inaccurate? Anyone remember what his hand length was?
