Considering cover two is a defensive play, and nickle is a formation, you are comparing apples to oranges (as in the defense could play a nickle cover two instead of a base cover two). PS Ellison blows, and our LB play was just as good if not better with Harris/Corto/Buggs in the game. It was much better when B. Scott moved to LB. If this FO lets guys like G. Wilson and B. Scott walk while retaining the infamous Ellison Im just going to snap.

I also dont get why everyone loves Bradford soooooo much. He played on a team that was built around the OL and running game. Bradford benefited from being on that team. Yea I know he won the Heisman, because he had great stats, but he never took over a game and won it for his team. When he was asked to do so vrs Texas and Florida he failed. Think Mark Sanchez of the Jets this year. Is anyone going to say Sanchez is a great QB because he lead his team to the AFC Championship game? It was their running game. That was Bradfords 2008 season to a lesser extent. Now this is not a big deal for most, but I put a lot of emphasis on that factor. A QB needs to carry their team in college if they want to succeed in the NFL. Thats why I said Matt Ryan was the next Peyton Manning level QB when he came out. He carried a completely over matched BC team all the way to #2, and hasnt disappointed at all in the NFL. Clausen carried the ND offense game after game after game. He did it well too. People question his maturity, and dont think he can handle the pressure of being a 1st round pick, he was the QB at ND for Gods sakes. The QB... at Notre Dame. Please name me one player in college football that deals with more pressure, because you cant. Clausen has reached his ceiling? Why? He improved 10 fold from his soph to jr year, how is that possibly an indication he wont improve more? And since when is playing in a pro system a negative - all of a sudden hes coached up to his max? Im calling shenanigans. Not liked by teammates?... I saw an interview with Golden Tate where he raved about Clausen as a player and person. I think people read into things way too much. Both these guys will do well in the NFL, I would be happy drafting both. But I think Clausen will do better, and I would take him over Bradford if I had the luxury. (BTW I do think Clausen is a major tool)

I heard - I think it was an NFL.com vid but not sure - he looked bad. Very inaccurate causing WRs to slow or even stop their routes and wait for the ball. Being a AA guy, maybe he is not used to throwing to WRs with the speed of the guys at the combine? Your link is to an impressive highlight tape, but Im not certain if he can do that consistently. He is a late round prospect none the less. I dont have an opinion on him really, how can I when I havent seen him play.

I like those two guys. I didnt see any of there games, but they looked great in workouts. I hate going on only workouts but I have no choice here. Its easy to see why the scouts like them, particularly Veldheer.

This is right up my ally - give up a pick for a proven vet. But in this case I think I hold off. I havent seen much of Gaither, but from what I have seen I think he is a bit overrated. He bends too much at the waist for me and I think we could land Bulaga/CLausen/McClain in the draft. Ill risk it with the draft pick this year.

From the games I saw, he doesnt even have good tape. Even in his youtube highlight tape he looks bad, and thats a highlight tape. Id pass on this kid at 42, let alone 9.

no more second rate FAs please. I am tired of seeing the Hangartners and Dockerys of the NFL being our offseason targets. We can get that kind of production from other teams cuts/practice squads. Look at the teams that have had success in the post season the last decade. They have dominant lines on both sides of the ball and a great QB 99% of the time. This team has been built arse backwards with DBs and punt returners getting priority over the Lines and QB. Its easy to see why we fail to compete.
