AND WE RETAIN MAYBIN!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Hopefully not Like Ellison does! That would be painful to watch. PS Why was he let go in Cle? I thought I saw a thread saying he was released... anyone know why?

Can we at least ditch some absolutely worthless players like Kelsay/Parrish? What about signing at least one player with 3-4 experience? what about a NT or LT stop gap? Our team simply will not function without those two holes filled and the FO is relying on the draft for both? They brought in Green why not one or two more guys to hold down spots and help mentor our young guys? We havent made a single move to aquire more draft picks while the Browns are raking them in. I agree build through the draft but there is a more proactive way to do it. Nix and co have done nothing to date to make this team better moving forward. They are sitting on their laurels and assuming the seven picks we have in this draft is more than enough to fix this team. We could move Parrish and Kelsay for as little as a 2020 7th round pick and it would make us better. Schobel is going to retire before coming back to the Bills so take anything you can get. Ellison might have some value, get a few water coolers for him. Then with the freed up money and roster spots we could maybe sign somone who fit the 3-4 defense. Maybe we could get a veteran leader whose value is not in the plays he makes but in how he makes the rest of the team better. When we brought in Takeo the other 10 guys on defense instantly were better players because of how he took control and motivated them. Brian Dawkins did the same exact thing in Denver last season and you could see Philly missed him. We need someone to do that with our rookies. Larry Foote or Joey Porter would sign here resonably and would help this team rebuild - which is our goal - to rebuild. Veterans can help you rebuild too.

Thats a huge myth. If you stat the draft its about 60-40 O coaches draft D players and vice versa. there was a write up on it about walter football.
-
Yes I agree thats why they were last on my list. I personally cannot think of any players worth a 10-15 pick. There are 8-10 top guys and everyone else is a late 1st or 2nd round guy. I almost put B. Graham on that list because he is going to be great, but the value is not there.

Brady Quinn Traded To Denver
High Mark replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didnt say huge, but he is an upgrade thats for sure. I think you will be surprised with how well he plays these next few seasons. As I said in another thread Quinn was not the problem in Cleveland. Having a good team and some good coaches will certainly help him. Holmgren went after a guy he knew and a quality vet and is dumping salary. Quinn is a casualty. -
Brady Quinn Traded To Denver
High Mark replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well Ill be one to say that I expect Quinn to do very well in Denver. I wish we made a play for him considering the price. He easily could have been our starter. On a second note, I like how Holmgren is being proactive in his attempt to fix the Browns. He is shipping their dead weight while we tender and pay roster bonuses to ours. Cant say Im too thrilled with our half dead FO. -
Wait till we free up the 17ish Million from Kelsay/Parrish/Schobel being moved in their various ways.

Anyone other than: Okung Suh Bulaga Clausen McCoy Bradford McClain Iupati/Dan Williams - tie In that order (I realize most of those guys will be gone but I listed my top 9 in order which means at least one will be there at 9)

I would trade every 2010 draft pick + for Ben as long as we can be sure he is not going to prison for more than a year. Because if we traded for Ben I wouldnt let him play next season because I dont want him hurt and we need 3 new starting OL minimum if you count Wood returning.

Nix is passing on quality free agents
High Mark replied to BillsPhan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did Bryant really get that? Thats the same deal AQ got. How embarrassing. PS I would prefer quality FAs on D. Watson and Bryant are bad examples. Now how about a Larry Foote or Joey Porter. You know, guys who have played in a 3-4 before and have won superbowls. I really want Larry Foote - he can be the veteren leader our very young team/defense needs. -
Let's start building this team correctly

Maybe we can go back and draft Ngata, Clady, and Orakpo. -
Big Pat should be on the wall of fame.

Why the Bills Shouldnt Draft a QB This Year
High Mark replied to Jsi922's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
False on so many levels Andrew Luck is going to be great. Take the BPA, the Bills are so bad they can draft any position outside of DB and the team will be better If 2 players are seen as equals on the board then take the QB. QBs need to learn and develop while OTs can be pro bowlers for day 1 of training camp. ie Id rather have a 2nd year QB with a rookie LT in 2011 than vice versa. -
Bills and Browns to meet with Spikes
High Mark replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
IIRC Spikes asked to be traded and the Bills obliged. All he ever wanted was to play in a playoff game, but this year may be his last chance. I hope the 49ers win the SB this year just for Spikes. He certainly deserves it, and its not like the Bills have a chance... -
Or maybe he is so committed to winning he took himself out of the game because he was playing at a fraction of his normal self and knew his team had a better chance to win with MICHAEL TURNER getting the carries. Its not like some scrub back up took his place...

With Fabio getting a "Man" haircut...
High Mark replied to Dr. Trooth's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Poz only looked as bad as he did because he had no help from the OLBs. OLBs need to take on blocks properly to force ball carriers inside and into lanes so that MLBs can make plays. People always saw Poz chasing backs toward the sidelines and being out run and think "Man, Pos stinks he is another slow Big 10 LB" but if you look at the tape the error was in the LB play. However, the ILB in the 3-4 will need to take on lots of blocks at the point of attack, which I have always thought was one of the weaker areas in Pozs game. He is still the best LB on the team by far. -
Considering Maybin is a bust, Schobel is a 4-3DE, and Mitchell is recovering from an ACL, that might just give us the worst LB core in the league. On top of that, you left our the front 7s best player in K.Williams.

Im all for bringing in Sapp for a try out. Low risk high reward. He has had a fews years off so he should be rested and could come back and be a rotational player for us.

Bucs HC defends lack of free agent signings
High Mark replied to BillsVet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I liked this comment which is about halfway down the page; "Gelardia says: March 11, 2010 11:18 AM The average career in the NFL is 3.5 seasons so how do you plan for long-term winning based on roster. Only fans of long term losers care about long term winning. Fans of long term winners care about winning a championship." Very very true if you ask me. The Bills and their fans are always trying to get younger and trade for draft picks and not resigning their vets because they are "too old" We have been spinning our wheels since AJ Smith and co left. -

A very basic and accurate view of the 3-4. Stroud and Williams can easily play 5 tech. Hell Williams has been playing that role for his entire career, he will essentially be moved 1 yard towards the sideline in the 3-4. Williams is a prototype 2 gapper 5 tech. learn football learn football, then comment Not true. Go back and watch the games from last year, Williams got the double teams more than Stroud and Schobel combined. There is a a reason the NFL coaches voted him in as a PB alternate (not the fans or media but the best football coaches on the planet) -
Rams DE/DT Adam Carriker...
High Mark replied to Wilson from Gamehendge's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Andre Carter is as bad a fit for the 3-4 as Kelsay. Carriker would be a nice back up I guess - I havent heard a thing about him since he was drafted. We have Willaims/Stroud/Johnson at DE right now I assume. Maybe I missed someone but 3 DEs wont do it.
