  1. I dont know about their situation, but what about Carolina? They run a lot of playaction and throw deep.
  2. brooks is overrated in general, but really very good. He is a jauron type of guy that is like keith ellison but much better in every way. He is still in good shape. For the right price he could really help us.
  3. Remember when the ravens had tony siragusa and sam adams?
  4. The combine event that correlates best with success in the NFL is the vertical.
  5. Jenkins is a nasty tackler and well coached. He doesnt have robocop potential or anything, and i have the feeling he looked better on Ohio States excellent defense, but he is a solid player. If we could get him cheap i wouldnt mind. If our front office made a new years resolution to get rid of simpson and his millions it wouldnt trouble me.
  6. Isiah Thomas in a Roscoe Parrish role? Naw, Everyone knows the right answer is Charles Barkley at tight end. Id also give Leroy Burrell, the 250 lb sprinter from the Carl Lewis era a chance. He ran a 9.85 100m
  7. I think Taylor is still one of the best backs in the league, and a major upgrade from Lynch in every way.
  8. Forgiveness granted. Ive said dozens of dumber things while drunk.
  9. I am too emotionally spent to agree with you in detail.
  10. that would be 24 ten inch speakers, which any audiophile would know is ridiculous because two good ones could tear your car apart. If all 24 of them were playing, would you be able to concentrate on the road well enough not to hit a drunk at 3 am after downing a bottle of petron? If i rolled on 28s, my used car would have great ground clearance for the snow we get in the southtowns. However i dont think my swedish snow tires are available in that size.
  11. Ok, so he is lebron james playing defensive end. Or, if you prefer, ryan denney. Im not saying he wont be good, im just saying...
  12. We kept royal, with both left hands, instead of michael gaines. Gaines couldnt catch aids in an african brothel, but he was a great blocker and surprising after the catch for a 270+lb guy, and presumably dirt cheap. Schouman and Fine are two versatile guys we could use in the slot as run blockers and pass threats. So are freddy and josh reed. Not that we use any of them that way.
  13. Why couldnt hardy have shot himself in the leg in one of those altercations with his dad like burris?
  14. Man, do parkers backups blow. Willie is perfect for their singleback style. You need to match a runner to the running plays and teams. You can run a sweep with freddy jackson, not so with lynch.
  15. Yeah dudes, I'd pay about anything to replace simpson with dawkins. Can we replace ellison with Ray Lewis too? And my imaginary girlfriend with tom bradys?
  16. We actually did a lot of different things with our coverages this year other than having two deep safeties. I dont have the energy right now to get into types of coverage. As a run defense, we totally subscribe to the cover 2 philosophy. Mitchell blitzes, poslusny cleans up, ellison runs around and does nothing and our safeties fill in the gaps. Stroud gets double teamed, out other dt penetrates, blah blah blah. We could dog the weak side and blitz a linebacker (if we had someone with some size instead of ellison) and the effect would be that of a 4-3. The ravens can turn a 3-4 into a 5-2 or a 4-3 easily. So can we. The formation you start with really isnt the answer. A power running team would rather run inside against a 3-4 team. Try dealing with two tight ends and a fullback with a base 3-4. You arent going to be able to fill those gaps with players that wont get blown off the ball.
  17. Keith Ellison couldnt tackle his male inflatable sex doll even before its greased. Crowell is a good tackler, smart and very fast. But you dont see him stepping up and taking on any fullbacks.
  18. The AFC East is wide open.... Why does that seem so familiar?
  19. Some games leftwich plays well. Most of the time he looks bored and slow. He has a very strong arm. I believe his poor attitude got him banished from jacksonville.
  20. I was just flummoxed that we paid him that much. I mean, its not like we couldnt find another mediocre end out there somewhere. And dont get me started on copeland bryant. He looks like hes never seen the inside of a weight room.
  21. Can we include justin baanan in this discussion? Or the dozen or so other guys who have left the bills and played better? (excepting willis, who would be a great back if he had two brain cells to rub together.) I was a Leonard fan from the start. He makes great decisions in the defensive backfield and is a good tackler. He doesnt have a lot of range, be he has good acceleration, as we see when he returns kicks. I was really surprised when we let him go. EDIT: I dont disagree with you, biscuit.
  22. I agree, we need to blitz and stop the run. I dont have the energy list this teams faults, but a dozen that I can clearly picture presently come to mind. Our entire philosophy, on both sides of the ball, sucks. I would feel more comfortable with the coaches from Orchard Park High School. I mean that literally. Their guys play with excellent fundamentals. Their coaches know how to run the ball. We are the most predictable team in the NFL. Our receivers never run a route the same way twice. Watch a game in slow motion and see if you can predict where a receiver will end up. Edwards cant, and neither can I. But the patriots and the colts do it the same every time. Consider the wealth of orthodox coaching strategies rarely or not utilized by our coaches: Counter plays, trap plays, straight isolation dives, wing-t type of misdirection plays, outside running in general ( I saw a couple tosses to freddy). That leaves a very small amount of run plays. Our coaches inexplicable bungling of clock management, ridiculous playbook, astonishing predictability, flawed philosophy, and lack of emotion will combine to demoralize next years team too.
  23. I think a lot of fans of the NFL are starting to realize the players dont care anymore. The level of play in the nfl has dropped off. It is worse to see it in buffalo though, because our players dont seem to understand or care how much of this citys hopes are riding on them. It is ridiculous to see Freddy Jackson being the only player on our offense who is pumped up. They saunter onto the field, and stroll off after a three and out like they were going back for thirds at a picnic.
