Kelsay (and Denney, fot that matter) has an awesome ability to misread plays. If you watch film on him or even casually review the game afterward, you will see that Kelsay falls for every reverse, overpursues every draw, rushes the outside on off tackle runs, and generally makes a fundamental mental mistake an alarming amount of the time. Schobel does not. He is decent against the run, however. He has range and can take on a block, make a lateral move and make the tackle. He isnt terribly slow in pursuit. At his height, he does not have the leverage to bull rush a lot of tackles.

Part of it is the way that our management, coaches, players and fans have all acted like everything is fine while a storied franchise in a football town tanks. James Hardy may do fine in the NFL, but there is no reason to think he will and every reason to think that he will not. Comparing him to Eric Moulds, as dazedandconfused did, he is certainly not as athletic as Moulds. Moulds was strong, fast and agile. He displayed great vision and special teams ability as a rookie. Moulds was also clearly a bright guy. Hardy is not a tremendous athlete. He does not have great hands. Even in college he was not seen as someone with a high football IQ or a polished receiver. He caught a very low percentage of the balls that were thrown his way. Our coaches all agree that he has struggled in practice. He was easily covered by each defensive back who opposed him last year. He is hard to cover in goal line situations. Hardy doesnt get it. Even as a rookie you know not to run your routes out of bounds, short of the first down or end zone, where to line up, and have a general sense of where on your route to look back for the ball. Some guys learn that stuff in pop warner football. Hardy has shown us nothing except for the fact that he is 6'5". I hope he turns out to be a great player. The problem is that he takes up a roster spot. Would you keep him instead of Stevie Johnson, Roscoe Parrish, Josh Reed, Terrel Owens or Lee Evans? Or another receiver who looks promising?

I am willing to write him off. Not because he doesnt know what he is doing, which is obvious, but because he isnt showing me any skills either. He dropped a lot of balls in college too. He doesnt adjust to the ball. He hasnt gotten stronger. He isnt a major deep threat. He isnt agile enough to run good routes and get open. Cut him and play stevie johnson as our number three in obvious passing situations.

Ellison couldnt tackle his blow up male sex doll if it were degreased and propped upright. I was surprised that bryan scott didnt see action at linebacker more. Or anyone else, to be honest with you. We did play a lot of nickel, probably to keep ellison off the field. If we replaced our defensive ends with DTs on running downs and still ran a nickel I would be satisfied.

Good story. I hope this guy makes the team. 315 lbs stretches out over 6'8" pretty quickly. He is athletic and I suspect he will get stronger. I love hearing about the prospects every year, but so few of them make the team. Look at what Jackson had to do in preseason to get on the field.

I like Tinsley Ellis. I was surprised to hear some Gary Moore fans. He's great. Did anyone mention Robert Cray? Why has Slash not been mentioned yet?

When I weaved through the parking lot that fine afternoon, there was no doubt we were going to destroy the Patriots. I have never seen a crowd of such a single mind. We wanted blood. The wild excess of drunken revelry and team spirit could hardly have been surpassed by Romans at the Colosseum. Our fans and our Bills lived through each other that day, and a hard working city got its manful reward. We can beat the Patriots this year and every year.

The mass of the fans might have him to blame, but if we are a strong team that wants to win what T.O. has to say doesnt matter. We know he will say some silly things. They will not stop us from wrapping up our tackles and finishing our blocks. If he is just average on the field, and lets be honest expectations arent sky high, we can still win. We had a lack of effort last year that was embarrassing. But the truth is that we can beat the Patriots. We have physically outplayed them for years. Willis averaged about 170 yards a game against them in his career. Good defense can beat a very good finesse team with a great quarterback. The Steelers beat the Cardinals the old fashioned way, and so can we.

The early nineties was a great era in the NFL and for football at all levels, and the AFC was certainly not lacking in talent. It was an era of great quarterbacks, great rivalries, and legendary players. I feel since then the level of play has fallen in many ways. The Bills were a better team than the Giants, and everyone at the time knew it. The '92 Redskins, however, were a juggernaut. They were physically better than their opponents and didnt make many mistakes. I dont want to talk about the Cowboys losses, especially after that last monday night game at home. I haven't felt that way since I lost a 0-0 tie in my high school district finals in quadruple overtime.

Lynch will get plenty of time, if only because he is consistent and can take a beating. Lynch averages fewer yards than freddy, has a smaller repertoire of running plays he is good at, and isnt as good of a reciever, but he consistently gains tough yardage and makes the defense work hard to bring him down. He has improved throughout his career to date. I expect Lynch to be effective for us again this year. Our offense is straightforward. We dont use a lot of H-backs, wing backs, tight ends split out a couple yards or offset running backs. I hope we can find a way to use Rhodes and Freddy in sets, get the ball to Roscoe, use Reed in a Hines Ward type of role, and get the ball to our recieving tight ends, because if we dont it will be a major waste of the talent on this team. This team is begging for a Schottenhiemer or Joe Gibbs type of offense.

I can see this two back formation, especially with one of the backs offset. We have seen a resurgence of the single wing with all the wildcat last year, why not the wing T too? It worked with jackson and lynch. jackson and rhodes is a better option.

I think walker is a better pass blocker than a run blocker. Can we look into right tackles too?
