Has Dealer Doug earned benefit of the doubt?
QB Bills replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You have got to be kidding. Other than the Hughes move, every single one of his moves can be debated. And some were downright idiotic. He was out parading "we are open to every position except QB" weeks before the draft last year. There were sensible people on this board scratching their heads about that. Even if that's how he felt, why publicize it? In any case, after just 4 more games from the guy he had anointed, his tune is now "we are looking to upgrade the QB position". It's just so amateur. He drafted 3 crappy lineman in the last draft. One of whom they were forced to start and proceeded to rate right near the bottom of the entire league. The other two who could barely see the field even though there wasn't much competition. Chris Williams is awful. I know...what a shocker. At least to those who didn't bother to google him and see he has pretty much been awful his whole career. Sammy Watkins...an excellent player, no doubt but not a lot of scouting had to go into determining that. But a bad trade when looking at it from a value perspective. And especially so when you don't have an established QB. Trading a proven receiver who had success with a crappy QB for a 4th because "he doesn't mesh with our new QB". Who is also crappy. The guy who was then benched a quarter into the season. Trading a 4th for a backup RB who barely saw the field. And when he did, he fumbled the season away. And now he trades for a running back with a huge cap number, who has benefited from a greater support system than he will receive here. The same system that had Bryce Brown running for 170 yards in consecutive games. The guy who couldn't crack the starting lineup here. And he trades away a promising young player at a more valuable position, who almost won rookie of the year and who is only one year into his rookie deal. And people are happy about this? They couldn't give him away to at least one team (Arizona), yet we send them Kiko. Unbelievable. How so many people are in love with this guy and trash Nix makes no sense, considering Nix has added more talent to this current roster than Whaley has. He doesn't seem like he has a long-term plan and just seems to be winging it. -
Bills to trade Kiko Alonso for LeSean McCoy

eballs...You do realize Greg Roman is not on the level of Andy Reid or Chip Kelly when it comes to offense, right? -
Bills to trade Kiko Alonso for LeSean McCoy
QB Bills replied to CNY315's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How about this? Keep Alonso, draft Gurley (or another RB), save 8 million in salary and spend it on the offensive line? You people realize that Bryce Brown looked like a star in that Philly offense too? McCoy has had the benefit of a good to great offensive line, and excellent offensive coaching (Reid and now Chip) his whole career. He won't have that here and when he's being outplayed by Freddie, there will be some sad people on this board. This trade sucks on so many levels it's not even funny. Whaley needs to go. The guy is as clueless as he is reckless. -

Early prediction: Freddie outplays Mccoy in 2015. You heard it here first. -
Assuming the Bills were this hell-bent on getting a running back, they picked the wrong target. Peterson is on the outs in Minnesota. Although they are trying to mend fences, I'm sure if Whaley was dangling Kiko they would have jumped at the idea. Peterson is much better than any other player at his position. His cap hit isn't much more than McCoy's. And he's been better than him with a lesser line and inferior coaching. I wonder if they even explored that option considering this trade came together in 20 minutes. As for the trade itself, the opportunity cost of it, when you factor in salaries and the positional value in question, is so incredibly stupid and reckless that I'm amazed at people defending it. This isn't fantasy football. In any case, it won't make a bit of difference either way until we get a QB.

Marcus Easley- Do the Bills resign the S/T ace?

I'm amazed at how he gets down the field so.. (•_•) ( •_•)>⌐■-■ (⌐■_■) Easily. -
Marcus Easley- Do the Bills resign the S/T ace?
QB Bills replied to Jamie Nails's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The guy is excellent on special teams. I don't know how he does it, but he's always in great position to make a play on the returner right as the ball is being caught. Would be a significant loss if he walks, in my opinion. -
Ndamukong Suh - too crazy an idea?
QB Bills replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No chance. Hughes might even get that much. Suh will get way more than that. -
I partially just wanted an excuse to type out "Ndamukong" as I have so few opportunities to do so. But what about bringing this guy aboard? The obvious answer is that we already have a strong d-line and would have too much money tied up there. He would definitely cost a lot, but in this case, you wouldn't bring back Hughes, so its all about opportunity cost. Hear me out though. Kyle Williams is aging (although he's still excellent) and there is no guarantee Dareus will re-sign in Buffalo. If he does, you have two elite tackles along with Mario. The salary cap keeps rising and we don't have a big-time QB to pay, as Whaley keeps reminding us. With Detroit deciding not to franchise him (mostly due to money tied up with Stafford and Johnson), I think the Bills should look at this. The defense could be historically good next season with that d-line and Rex Ryan running it. Kyle-Marcel-Suh Mario-Brown-Bradham-Kiko Gilmore-A. WIlliams-Rambo/Duke-Leodis (salivating)

Perhaps you're right Yolo, but I'm holding out hope (blindly, I suppose) that something bigger is on the horizon that's probably been mentioned but we haven't realistically considered.
-
Cutting EJ would be a headscratcher if true. But from Leroi's previous posts, he did imply that there was a big plan for QB. I'm guessing that doesn't mean just Josh McCown.

Todd Herremens (OG) Cut by Eagles--Signed by Colts

I am. But it's not my money. This guy was solid as can be before his injury, by all accounts. -
Honest question...have you ever actually watched Sam Bradford play? I've noticed that you keep throwing out the most basic of stats to say that he and EJ Manuel are basically the same guy. I can't even begin to describe how ridiculous that is. Look at what he's had to work with in his time there. His RBs have been Steven Jackson (who had been run into the ground before Bradford even got there) and a bunch of scrubs. His receivers? Amendola (Edelman's crappier twin brother), Brandon Lloyd (yippee), Tavon Austin (aka Roscoe Parrish) and some guys they found tailgating in the parking lot before games. His o-line, other than a few serviceable games early on by Roger Saffold, has been a mess. And to top it off, he's had the combo of Jeff Fisher and Brian "lets go play action on 3rd and 24" Schottenheimer as his coaches. And lets not forget the division he plays in and how good those defenses are that he has had to go up against 6 times a year. I'm hoping the Rams are stupid enough to let him go, but I don't see it happening. If it did, and Buffalo was lucky enough to get him, my guess is you'd see very early on that there is a huge difference between him and EJ Manuel.

What happens with Marquise Goodwin?
QB Bills replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Getting rid of a good player because you think he'll get injured is ridiculous. He doesn't have any lingering issues that we know about. $hit happens. Move on and get this guy the ball a few times a game. -
eff you vic carucci!

You're either joking, or you haven't ever watched a Rams game.

Quick sidenote about that place: Nobody ever peed standing up there. -
Let's just get the smart-ass response of "he gets injured" out of the way first. Disclaimer: I'm a sucker for the blazing fast guys. I held out hope for Roscoe Parrish and TJ Graham longer than most so take this all with a grain of salt. Having said that. I love watching this guy play and I think he needs to be used more. The separation he gets is not something I've ever seen from a Bills player. Yes he gets hurt a lot, but he's not a wimpy player. The guy goes into the middle and will take a hit to make a catch. For those who have seen their share of Niners games, what role do you see him playing in Roman's offense? I can't recall if they had a guy like him before. Brandon Lloyd is fast, but not really the same kind of player. From everything Rex and Roman have said, it seems like they prefer size and power over the small, fast guys. Watkins and Goodwin on the ends with Woods in the slot would scare defenses (if we had a QB, that is).
-
He thought that because he had our resident used-car salesman named Russ Brandon on his side. Luckily the Pegulas didn't listen to him. I'm just hoping the days of this guy slithering himself into football decisions are over for good.

PFF releases Bills 2015 depth chart

Baccari Rambo should be elite based on his name alone. I was actually disappointed he only got two picks against Rodgers. I was expecting at least 4. -
Bills offered Emmitt Smith a contract in 2005?

You have to have a brain to get a concussion. Lucky for him, he didn't have to worry about that.
