  1. LOL good stuff.
  2. Similar here in Rochester. 20's right now with on and off snow today, then supposed to be into the 50's with rain tomorrow and Thursday, then back down to 30's on Friday w/ rain and snow and highs in the teens Saturday and Sunday with more snow. Fantastic.
  3. Which explains why it continually is one of the most critically acclaimed show on television, yet BuffOrange seems to disagree. Wonderful logic my friend. And PastaJoe - I somewhat agree about the portrayal of Arab-Americans with the terrorist sleeper cell - but that is what MAKES the show. The fact that they DO stretch it as far, or even farther, as they can. In last night's 2 episodes, I don't think there was a better moment than when Dora Araz (I think that's her character's name) invited the girl into her home, seemed ok with her, called her husband, her son thought everything was cool, then she gives him a gun and tells her to kill the girl. Like any 16 year old who is in love he can't do it and rebels against even his parents. Then we find that Dora in fact poisoned the girl - and one of the best lines in the 4 season series - "I'm very disappointed in you." She is a phenomonal actress. Should continue to be a solid season.
  4. Weren't those kneeldowns at the end of the 4th?? Shane didn't even throw a pass that game.
  5. Great spot, I vacationed there like 10 years ago with some family. The Keys are absolutely beautiful. Also went to a resort called Hawks Cay - beautiful there as well. Wish I could go down to Key West again and go to Margaritaville.
  6. lol good point - hope they dont get any HOF votes, because there would be about 20 guys voted in every year, based by their performance on SNF.
  7. If anyone should have gotten votes beside Peyton, it should have been McNabb or TO. If Peyton didn't have such a good year, then I could see an argument for Vick as well, but not this year. He still made alot of bonehead plays for his team that they rebounded from. McNabb and TO are the 2 main reasons Philly was top in the NFC.
  8. Yes, tomorrow is hours 3 and 4 (9:00-10:00 and 10:00-11:00). They are broken up into each hour, thats why after the first hour it ended and started up. Glad you enjoyed it, like I said it's better than it has been the last 2 years. Don't want to say much else for those who haven't watched yet - it is imperative to watch the show that you don't know what's coming (unless you can figure it out of course). If you have a chance, try to watch season 1 - think its out on DVD. That was by far my favorite of the 3 seasons. And they're more or less independent of each other, with some story lines overlaying. Nothing really overlaying from last season into this one, though, that I see so far. Enjoy. You can PM me if you have any other specific questions.
  9. Anyone else catch tonight's premier?? I've seen the first 3 seasons, and thought they've regressed each season. But tonight's 2 hours were a great start IMO. They didn't skip around at all, got directly into a huge story. I don't want to ruin the story-line too much (spoiler) in case some may have recorded it or something, but it was very compelling and everything I remembered from season 1. Can't wait for tomorrow night.
  10. The only reason I'm glad I have one is because I got it signed last year at mini-camp in May. I never wear it to the games, and rarely wear it otherwise. Got an old-school Shane Conlan instead.
  11. Great show - I got hooked a few years ago on Labor Day when FX showed a re-run of season 1 and my new roommates watched the whole thing on Tivo - I caught the last 8 or 9 episodes. Then watched the entire season 2, and later on the entire season 1 left over on Tivo in about 2 days. Saw most of season 3 last year - I like 1, then 2, then 3 in that order, so hope this new one is an improvement. I did read a preview in USA Today yesterday, said its almost an entirely new cast with Jack now, think the producers realized it was getting a little stale. And the reviewer gave the show 4 out of 4 - should be great!
  12. Remember they only teach football at "The U", not anything else.
  13. Wouldn't make too much of Feely's TB stat - he plays in the Georgia Dome. But he would obviously be an upgrade for us, as would most of the guys you listed, and of course Nugent.
  14. This is bad news for the Patriots, who have schemed their way to only losing twice with their best db out. The first loss was big w/o Law - the Steelers exploited that weakness early with Burress going deep for scores, then hammered away with their strong offensive line with Duce and the Bus. They gave up some big plays against the dolphins in that loss as well - most notably 4th and 10, Thompson beat Troy Brown one-on-one for the game-winning TD. The Pats with Crennel and Belichek are masters at scheming their defense to exploit the flaws of the offense - while Manning and Tom Moore do the same thing for their offense against opposing defenses. If you recall in week 1 I believe the Colts ran one entire drive, finishing with a Rhodes TD, exploiting a Pats rushing D w/o Big Ted. Two costly fumbles by Edge and a miss by Vandy basically gave that game away - and Manning had a subpar performance by his standards. If they face Manning next week, they will need to get to him quick and often, otherwise it may be just like the Steelers game. Couple big passing plays early followed by a mix of run and pass. The Colts have a top 5 OLine in the league - and with out Seymour (he is still out correct?) the Pats lose another big defensive playmaker. Should be a very intriguing matchup, with both sides out for blood. The Colts should beat Denver and then we'll be set for a big game next week.
  15. Ed Reed is the 04 defensive player of the year - beat out Farrior 20 to 16 votes. Followed by Freeney (7), Peppers (3), Ray Lewis (1 - bs, had to be a Balitmore homer), and Donnie Edwards (1). I thought Farrior had a shot, but in the end I think the fact that Reed anchored the Balt secondary that was nearly impossible to pass against and made so many big plays on his own vaulted him ahead of Farrior, who had a similar impact on the Steelers. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylc=X3oD...ov=ap&type=lgns Vilma is not a surprise at all - besides Abraham he is probably the defensive MVP for the Jets. Had some big games against the Bills. His 21 votes were followed by Dunta Robinson of Houston (12) who should have been in the Pro Bowl, and fellow "U" players DJ Williams (7) and Sean Taylor (3). Not a bad defense they had down there at Miami. Oh Reed was there a few years ago as well. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylc=X3oD...ov=ap&type=lgns
  16. Quite a LAMP I know, but just saw Lou on the Syracuse game and noticed this. He looks much older than I do. We also share a birthday with Diane Keaton, Robert Duvall, and Mikhail Gorbachev's wife - I remember them from a project I did in school like 12 years ago. Quite the celebrities we are. Kind of odd that the first birthday card I got this year was from Casino Niagara with $10 in chips. Man they really care.
  17. Stamer was ST captain, saw him go out to the coin-toss, didn't realize Wire wasn't dressed. Also noticed that Tim Anderson dressed, think that might have been his first game.
  18. That earlier link wouldnt work for me - great one here, though, with the end of the song and the ensuing 15 seconds ... http://content.collegehumor.com/media/movies/ashleebooed.wmv
  19. Rube in the second one... "Women -- can't live with 'em, and they can't pee standing up"
  20. Thats why I brought up Mularkeys decision to bring in April and that they obviously treat STs seriously, something that hasnt been done since Marv's days. Its the difference between the bad teams and average ones, and the good to great ones. It shouldve kept the Rams out of the playoffs, but somehow they limped in. Their STs and D this year were HORRIBLE. But alas thats the NFC.
  21. Yes he was HORRIBLE on kickoffs all year. I watched from the upper deck as he got outkicked nearly every game by the other team's kicker - his kicks were low and to a side usually, and the farthest theyd go would be the 5; while the other teams kicker (exemplified this weekend by Reed) would just moonshot the ball. I still have no idea how he was regarded as a guy with a strong leg when he was signed - I've seen no such thing. Not sure about Christie, from what I remember he left on a sour note a few years ago, unless it was just a money issue then Id be all for him coming back. He was great here, was disappointed to see him go and none of the guys weve had since have been close to as good (but Graham is now).
  22. Yea, since we play the Panthers this year, that would automatically be a loss if we had Gramatica.
  23. How about Morten Anderson? Hes got a few more good years . Sadly he will be better at age 46 than Lindell is now.
  24. Save for Rian "oops that was the only kick this year that I actually NEEDED to make and missed it" Lindell, special teams this year was a VAST improvement. I think reason number one, two, and three is Bobby April. It was obvious from training camp and on through that he emphasized ST's, along with MM, as an essential part of the game, which was why starters like McGee, Clements, and Fletcher found regular duty. But he also just seemed to coach it like a position - despite the fact that many players weren't as good at their real positions, they have excelled in their ST's roles. These players include, but are not limited to, Wire, Stamer, Aiken, Neufeld, Haggan, Prioleau, Crowell, and the second part of the season, Peters. Add to this the solid play of Dorenbos and the fill-in play of Banta, and the never-ending crusade to get Moorman into the Pro Bowl, this unit was vastly improved. Many of these players have been added in the last year or two - Wire in the draft 02, Prioleau via FA a few years ago, Moorman (NFLE right?) and Dorenbos via FA, and the amazingly loaded 03 draft (special teams wise) saw some ST's standouts: Crowell in the 3rd, McGee and Aiken in the 4th, and Haggan in the 7th, also Stamer was an UDFA IIRC. Also Fast Freddy in this years draft, 7th round, and Peters as and UDFA. All of this shows the importance, instilled by Levy and DeHaven in the early 90's and not reinstituted until this year, in the Special Teams as the 3rd essential part of the team. We owned in field position because of our superior returns and coverage teams. Its obvious Mularkey takes STs seriously as he hired April, who was thought of as a good STs coach in the NFL. Just like bringing in Wyche and McNally, he has shown alot as a rookie coach in bringing in established coaching veterans in the NFL, unlike past coaches (***cough** Williams' assistant coaches ***cough***), and keeping the right ones here, like Gray and Krumrie. Having April was the essential piece to the ST's improvement. Moorman has been great and still is, but used to be it on STs. Much different now. Hope for contd improvement in 05.
