Russell Wilson will never be elite
atlbillsfan1975 replied to ny33's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am very interested to see where both franchises are in 3-5 years from now. That will say who made the right decision. Caldwell would have come to Buffalo. Bills choose to stay with Whaley. Time will tell who made the right or better choice. I like Dave and consider him a friend. I hope both teams excel. Bills win the SB in 2014 Jags in 2015! ha -
Both Cords where working for HC that in all likely hood will be fired next year when there teams have a poor showing. I also think both guys see what the Bills are doing and want to be a part of turning around a team that has some talent on it. They both probably took a look at the roster and said 'how where these guys 6-10'? And they both probably liked Marrone and when interviewed liked what they heard and saw. In Pettines case he gets the chance to prove he is as good a DC as Ryan. Both Ryan and Schwartz seem like the type of guys you either love working for or get tired of it after awhile. This is all just speculation. But so is thinking that hiring guys you like working with who are young a bad move.

Bills need to sign James Harrison
atlbillsfan1975 replied to BillsFanFromCincy2012's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This use to be true, but the Pats have also missed on some aging vets lately. Now it is usually guys who have a bad attitude and are aging. Is Harrison one of those? I do not know for sure.Chad Johnson and Haynesworth come to mind pretty quick. -
Exactly. Unless the OP is referring to someone who is more experienced and thus has been through a rough stretch where you lose a couple games because you just got beat. I want to give this staff the benefit of the doubt for now. I like them being younger. I think players like having coaches who can relate to them. You need discipline and order but you also need to understand your players. A 60+ y/o guy has a hard time doing that.

Bills Sign DL coach (Anthony Weaver) (From Jets)
atlbillsfan1975 replied to buffalo1983's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
These coaches are smart. they know what the Jets have first hand and realize they will probably have another losing season and Rex will be fired. Thus they will all be out of a job. So why not jump now? Smart on Pettine part and thus he recruited the other coaches. I like it if it means the Bills D looks like the Jets D from two years ago! -

The Cromartie 'Hard Knocks' where he is trying to name his kids is priceless. Sad but priceless. -
Hitler on the Bills picking Doug Marrone
atlbillsfan1975 replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
To the poster who reminded us about what Hitler did, thanks we did not know. I would recommend In The Garden of the Beast for you. After reading it you will see, yes Hitler commited the horrible crimes. But the U.S. did little to stop it when they had a chance because they where trying to get Germany to repay debt. having said all that. I think it is funny as hell. And been sending a F*cking Doug Marrone text to my cuz who is also a diehard Bills fan. I have come around to the hire, like Smerlas. But it is now just funny. He has made me promise if Marrone leads the Bills to the Super Bowl i have to wear a shirt that says 'F*cking Doug Marrone' to the game. -
Yep. Think it is more like this^ Not to mention the reason Denver is there is because they went out and sign a guy named Manning. You can not fault Denver or the league for this move. it was smart and calculated. I doubt the Ravens are there next year. Houston is going to get challeneged by Indy. And the Pats wont be there because Buffalo will be!! Ha

What should the Bills do at #8?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Solomon Grundy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Some guys around here want tojust chalk up the NC game to TE'O having one bad game. And his entire of body of work should be looked at. I say hogwash. I wonder if TE'O had played at Syracuse or Michigan State if he would have gotten as much notoriety? Or if his personal story was different? He is a decent LB but not worthy of a first round pick. I would not be surprised to watch him slip into the mid second round. -
Will Demarcus Ware be available?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Falcons actually play him more than just passing downs. he is not in there on third and shorts or short yardage D. So probably in there 75% or so of the plays. You are correct though. he had this year and maybe one more year in him. -
2003 Bills home opener
atlbillsfan1975 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah. I think he has a great memory Belichik, and he will never forget the way the Bills handled them that day. He was out smarted and his team looked confused and lost. You know that burned Belichik. I forgot about the Saints game, the only other one i can think of is the Ravens play off game a few years back in Foxboro. I also think it is why we saw him so angry last year when Buffalo won at home. I bet off the record he would say Buffalo is the one team he hates losing to or enjoys beating more than any other. -
I do not disagree with you at all. but it is getting to the point where his arrogance of thinking he knows better than NFL coaches and personel people is bothering me. I am a UGA fan but i like Tebow and respect what he did in college. He needs to understand he is not the first great college qb not to be able to play pro. He than needs to decide what he wants to do. if it is to play pro, his only option might be at a position change. Personally i think that is the only way any team touches him. After watching what just happened in NY teams do not want that situation. if i was him and being as christian as he is. Quit. Go do missions around the world. he has more money than any of us here will probably ever make, and his notariaty could be used for such good use. But that is his choice. his life. I wish him luck. Just do not want him on a Bills roster. Too much headache, especially for a new coaching staff.

I wonder when he is going to eat the humble pie and realize he is not a qb in the NFL. Only than will maybe a team take a chance on him as a FB. As long as sports center and some UF fans keep banging the 'he just wins' drum unfortunately Tim will keep thinking it is so. People use to always say that about Vick, till he started to lose.

2003 Bills home opener
atlbillsfan1975 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After watching that i can now better understand why Brady and bellichek hate the Bills so much. I can not remember another one handed loss like the butt kicking the Bills put on them in that game. I mean the Bills out played them in every area. You could see that the Bills took the fight straight at NE. Now 3 months later in December was a different story. But that September day Buffalo owned NE. How many teams can say that over the past 10 years? -
So Wes Welker is set to become a free agent...

atlbillsfan1975 replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It all depends on how much and for how long. Welker and his agent know this is probably the last 'big' contract he will get. I know we in Buffalo have watched him torch us for years but i really think he is sliding fast and thus would not be worth a 3-4 year deal, which is what he will want. Some team who feels they could use a guy like him to win now, say Detroit, might jump at it. -
Brian Kelly interviews with the Eagles
atlbillsfan1975 replied to DPR4444's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is exactly the case, i believe. it is why ND is joining the ACC in everything but Football. And now that they just went to the NC you can bet it will be at least another 5-10 years before they even consider joining a confrence. -

Murray is going back. It is a done deal. he announced it already. Buck Belue was all over this a couple days ago. Belue is the UGA qb who throw the famous Lindsey Scott TD pass to beat Fla with time running out back in early 80's. He is very ied to the program and Qb's there. Murray is staying so move on from him. -
Brian Kelly interviews with the Eagles
atlbillsfan1975 replied to DPR4444's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Guys, Eagles called him and he answered. It is the NFL. Would not any of us at least go hear what the pinnacle company in our profession had to say? If it was all just a ploy, fine. So what, he is a head coach at one of the most financially stable colleges. Yes he could have sat down and done it that way. The President or AD would have said we learned from Weiss not to give raises out too soon. Maybe this did happen? So Kelly went to see what the Eagles had to say. If it nets him another million or two a season for a couple extra seasons great. ND just got a nice check from the NC Game. They should spend it wisely. -
Exactly.

Mel Kiper's updated Big Board 1/9/13
atlbillsfan1975 replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It will depend on which way Ogletree approaches the combine. Would love to see him show up around 250 and still have the same speed and agility. Then he would easily be the best option for inside backer for the Bills. He is a converted SS. Kid can cover as good as any LB coming out. Only knock is he has not been playing LB forever and thus is learning how to run stuff. I would love for the Bills to take him in the first. Not to many guys come along that are 3 down LB's. meaning you can leave them in for run or pass.
