  1. The Falcons have a history of overpaying in FA for wide receivers. In a league of 'see what happened there?', let's hope Sanu doesn't have a good year with Atl...that's what could drive the price up more for Woods.
  2. I am guessing it depends on how the Bills would structure the deal. What does Whaley and Co value more? The Bills could bump up Gilmores hit this year and next(from what I read here the cap goes up next year and the Bills have room to spare next year already). This might provide them with more flexibility for other key signings in 2018 and 2019?
  3. I don't think we 'need' that much. It is more or less just a question in how much would get free'd up by getting a deal done w Gilmore.
  4. Exactly. Some people on here are bullies. Just because they have a high post count they feel they can say whatever they want and it is truth. It just isn't.
  5. I just read that the Bills now have north of $14mil in cap space. That does not include rookie deals I believe, so they will eat some of that up. Theoretically if the Bills could work out a new deal for Gilmore how much more space would they free up? I know Bandit seems to be the best at this stuff. Take it we sign Gilmore to a top 5 corner deal.
  6. What if this Zimmer kid becomes the next Kyle. Similar size. And seem more the agile penetrating interior guy. Yes he is white. Whenever someone comes from a small school they must dominate the competition. Zimmer did that. 13 sacks for an interior lineman. Hope this kid is the type that elevates himself to his level of competition and can adjust to the speed and power needed in the NFL.
  7. I love being condescended. Not sure what your background is but seing as you are on here as much as you are , you probably have about the same football knowledge as me.Go look up starters in NFL that were drafted vs UDFA. I am saying things have changed from now since 1985. Information that is available now vs then has drastically been improved. Expecting 4-5 eventual starters from a draft is not unreasonable, I think it will begin to be the norm in the next 5 years.
  8. Why not? Why can't a team do that? Finding 2-3 starters is not some insurmountable task. Have a few more that develop into starters with a year or two of practice, coaching, and training. I am betting that of players starting in the NFL something like 80% or greater were drafted. Use FA to fill in gaps and for rotational/ depth. To be a great franchise you need to draft great. that's where it starts for talent.
  9. The Bills kicked the tires. If he leaves without a contract so be it. Slauson and his agent know there are going to be injuries in camp, someone will need his services. IF the Bills did not offer a deal Slauson thought was good enough he will wait. I do not think the Bills should over pay for his services, I was ok with heading into camp with what the Bills have/ see what cuts are made later in the summer and camp. I think Slauson would provide nice depth and flexibility, but i trust Whaley and the Bills FO.
  10. McCoy is typically one of the top 3 players on the field. Anyone who denies that has an agenda.
  11. Got to agree. Or one of the other top CB/DB's.
  12. If we get 3 starters this year and 2 more develop into starters next year, then the Bills had a great draft. 5 starters from a draft is ideal. You need to hit on 2-3 starters in year one and then have 2-3 become starters in year 2 or 3. doing the math(and assuming 4 year rookie contracts) you would have 20 of your starters being guys drafted. That would be ideal, maybe not obtainable.
  13. Hope so, it would mean the playoff drought is over and maybe even more.
  14. I agree on the to many voices. If Scott helps Ragland understand his assignments and how to communicate with Rex, great.
  15. Haha! Need to get her to speak at the rookie symposium!!
  16. Caption for that picture- Ok guys thanks for everything, now I got to go pick the kids up in the minivan
  17. I am thinking this is sarcasm.... EJ played like a rookie last year and it was his third year in the league. He will be kept on the team as insurance. And it is probably best NOT to play Jones at all this year if possible. Let EJ be the back up. Let Jones develop. EJ's ceiling has been exposed.
  18. It is not difficult to understand. I know the Bills did it last year. My hope is that Jones shows promise in camp and preseason. EJ is what he is for the Bills. But can you say that a rookie can't play like EJ did last year when called upon? I mean it was like watching a rookie. Really bad and really good all in the same game.
  19. Congrats to the Bills and Glenn. Love it. He has worked his tale off since college. Truly is a great day for Bills football. After watching Peters, Bell, and whoever else we had over there. This is great news. Solid LT for years to come.
  20. what are the LB coaches for? Scott was a very good player and loves Rex. If Scott can get Ragland to love playing for Rex and have Rex's back like Scott did, that is enough for me.
  21. Time for EJ to move on. He will be picked up someplace and make it another 5 years or so in this league. He won a few games and looked good in some, while looking god awful in others. I like the plan right now. Develop Jones and see what he can be. Let TT go show what he is this year. If Jones looks good in camp and pre season they may let EJ walk. Trying to stash Jones on the practice squad will most likely not work.
  22. Mike Wallace comes to mind. Might be a stretch for the accomplished part. But when Wallace had a abig armed QB throwing the ball to him , he did alright. TT lives to throw the long ball.
  23. a two and three this year and next years two would seem very reasonable. having said that, i am happy with who the Bills have, And there is no way of knowing who the Bills would of been left with if they did make the trade. A draft is like the Butterfly Effect, one pick sets a serious of events in motion.
  24. Good for you man! Seriously...I can tell by some people's posts that they are grown ups, and other times I question it. We all have one thing in common , we love the Bills, and want them to win. We can disagree on everything else In life. But I think we need to remind ourself of that fact before we hit Add Reply sometimes. I admit I can do it to.
  25. Do you still think that after the Jones pick?I know Jones is not at all ready this year.
