  1. We have a home opener against an AFC rival as they sport a tough D, fresh O with a new RB in Harris, while we need to get our O line settled, try to develop some semblance of run game, will be asking our D line to be better with new raw rookies against a vet QB who gets the ball out quickly, seeing if Star / Phillips or anyone can improve our run D , all at a glorious 1 pm with actual fans safe from Covid -19 vaccines , AND the Pats or Fins will start 0-1 as will either AFC contenders Cleveland or other KC to begin out 2022 run to the SB ,,,, and you depressed because our crisp home white unis vs the evil terrible towel waving, all black wearing Steeler empire who travels well is not enough of a VISUAL feast for you after the last time we saw our Bills was a disappointing loss one game shy of the Super Bowl??????? Yeah,,,,that sounds like one good Josh Allen year has made you forget how many years we suffered in mediocrity being irrelevant enough by December that no one ever saw what uniforms The Bills wore by the end of the year ! BE HAPPY, a new era has begun, and those ALL WHITES will look great with the Bills hoisting their first ever Lombardi after we start the season off as defending AFC EAST CHAMPS being the premiere 1 pm game on opening Sunday! 😀😂😊. ( just kidding around,,, hope it’s a W whatever we wear!)
  2. Don’t get me wrong, I am a Bills fan above even the Buckeyes, so I hope the Bills beat them this year. I am impressed with Urbans track record, and after reading his autobiography I appreciate why he has been successful. He believes in personal accountability, not excuses or blaming others , and I suspect McD has similar traits. Football is a team sport more than any other and we are seeing te benefits of a good culture in Buffalo and Jax has been struggling for the same time period. Just as the Pegulas struggled until they hit the right combination, the Jax owner has been lost from a football standpoint. He is good at developing real estate, expanding the NFL’s reach to London etc, but he has been a dismal failure understanding NFL football team culture. (If flaming out, or difficulty in dealing with the owner is what’s frustrating, I would get that. Yet Urban has dealt with boards, athletic directors, conference and NCAA commissioners etc before) I live in a small suburb of Jax, Ponte vedra, but my medical practice involved all the hospitals in Jax. Jax was a real redneck area before they got a big boost from the JaGS/NFL, and now have attracted medical powerhouses like MAYO and MD ANDERSON. So I would like to see the NFL stay and only based on what I’ve seen and read about Urban, I think the owner here may finally be willing to give more control to someone like him. I’m sure he will need to adjust, but I don’t see him quitting before developing a winner like he has in his prior stops. Urban is an Ohio guy, was born at the Toledo hospital I did my residency at, and being a small town Ohio guy I can have some empathy for him as he is up against a huge challenge. I was lucky enough to be around the initial Jacksonville ownership group ( one of the leaders was a chain smoking cardiologist good ol’ boy who cut me a great deal in his building where I built my first office at) who finally convinced Wayne Weaver to be the big money and final piece landing the Jags here in Jax, so I’ve seen a lot with a little inside view from the beginning down here. This community will never be great supporters like in Buffalo , or Pittsburgh because most people ,like myself, grew up as fans of other teams long before the Jags existed, yet I have watched the area benefit since the NFL arrived. If someone like Urban can’t get this thing back on track, then there may not be much hope for the Jags long term in Jax. I appreciate your knowledge of all things Buckeye , yet I don’t see how someone could accurately tell you he is struggling ( I’m sure he is a harsh self critic) at this point. He has a Franchise QB, by most accounts they did well with the draft, and haven’t lost any games yet! What exactly do people mean by saying he will “ flame out”? To me that means walking away or never having a winning season before quitting. Given his history, that seems unlikely. It’s going to be a struggle ( see all the coaches after coughlin here in Jax), it’s the NFL & not the Big Ten so change will take some seasons like it did in Buffalo. No re- loading year to year in the NFL like he did in college, so that will be a different struggle, or just normal NFL life. Urban seems like he has readjusted his priorities in life according to his writing, so I am just rooting for him as a fellow Ohioan, and human being. It would be a good story about second chances in life, and maybe the last shot Jax has to keep progressing as a community culturally should they lose the NFL. It’s a human interest story for me and small facets of it have intertwined with my own 63 year story. My love of the Bills will always win out over anything the Jags do to share my attention! Thx for the info, greatly respect your knowledge , and always glad to hear more if you feel like sharing! I think there are a lot of haters out there, probably some scorned Gator or Buckeye alumni who are hoping he fails, plus all those jealous people from up north! 😀😂
  3. He did great and actually had a great start but they caught him the last 15 -20 yards. He dwarfed all the track guys ; would be interesting to see the results if they ALL had pads on ! 😀
  4. Boy , I hope we don’t start away playing against Brady. Will be big night for the Bucs who are loaded on D and let’s face it, Mcd has never beaten a Brady lead team yet has he? Brady has had.Frazier’s number and our rookies on the D line will just be adjusting to the NFL so I doubt they have much impact early on. Also would be good to see if we can get a run game going and see if we can stop the run before facing the loaded SB champs. We prob won’t have our o line set either as it seems every year it takes time for McD to settle on the best 5. It feels so much better to win that opener; how great was it to start 4-0 last year? I just hope we get a little easier opener than either away at TB, KC, or even a revamped NE pats team, tho I would be more optimistic about facing the Pats than starting against a QB who has owned us for 20 years or a coach ( Reid) who out-coached McD badly twice the previous year. Good starts statistically matter in the NFL, and we never seem to get lots of breaks from the NFL so I hope we at least get the best shot we can at starting with a W! Also , the stadiums in Fl will almost certainly be filled adding to home field advantages returning as our governor has already lifted all restrictions / bans concerning businesses in Fl. And that includes a ban against things like vaccine passports etc. Would be nice if somehow we got lucky to start out at home despite last year and get our O back on track while doing it in a friendly environment ! Hey we are AFC East champs for once in a long time and I think that should be rewarded, esp rewarding the great fans we have!
  5. Yeah, he has such a profound track history of falling wherever he goes! 😈. Look what culture has done for Turing 20 years of failure around finally in Buffalo. Urban is big on accountability and culture. His autobiography is a good read, good insight on why his teams win. I am always a Bills guy and nothing is close after40 years following them, but as a prior original season ticket holder for the Jags , originally from Ohio so a huge Buckeye fan, I am at least hoping Urban brings excitement back to this barely existing franchise and his past history suggests promise. Hell, I may even fight the sun, crazy drunks etc to go back down to support the Bills and catch Josh and the boys as they take on the Jags down here this year. I gave up my Jags tickets the year after the music city miracle (99,jags 14-2 that year, dropped tics cuz hated how it interfered with watching my Bills and this was time before you could have great real time game info for teams like the Bills unless I wanted to sit in the Club at the stadium to watch on tv ), when if the Bills had won they would have come down to Jax the next week to beat the Jags en route to the SB ( where Tenn got beat a yard shy that year). I was at the AFC championship here when the Titans beat the Jags, and they fell apart after that as an organization, so I am hoping an Ohio guy like Urban brings some success back ( just not against the Bills) to the Jags and Jax and his history as a winner points to a good chance of that. I get he has left places after winning, but if you read his book he does go into life choices and some regrets he has that played a roll in those things. Hey, not many NFL head coaches stick anywhere for long as it’s the nature of the NFL. . It’s not college, but it’s football, organization and team building , and I wouldn’t bet against a known winner like Urban making a good impact. Even our own beloved HOF coach lost 4 SB’s and eventually flamed out, so this league chews up everyone in the end, but I bet Jax won’t continue to be drafting in the top 5 every year under Urban. so I just don’t see Urban flaming out as he never has before. I would also bet he has more success in the league than Saban had. ( Urban already starting with franchise QB, in a division where the other starting Qbs are declining or having issues)) 😉
  6. Thx for sharing that! Looks like he is working out like crazy just like his GF said! Hope it all translates to a great year for both of them and the Bills! Sounds like a really quality, hard working , nice guy and I can at least say I know he has a good support system and maybe the best is yet to come! Wish him much success and happiness and I know I will be following his season even more so hoping he stays healthy seeing how much work he is putting in after getting that well deserved new contract.
  7. Picked up the latest Greta Van Fleet LP in a cool , heavy green transparent vinyl. ( excellent album if you like rock, zeppelin sound). I’m an old dude who grew up on cassettes, then vinyl and finally to cds and downloads. So I love all the new vinyl coming out. I’m a visual type person as well so the new vinyl spinning adds to things and makes me wish this was around way back in my early rock days (70’s) when I occasionally enhanced the experience with mind altering things forced on me by peer pressure!!! Haha!! Vinyl still has a sound I love , and the whole experience of just hands on the cover, etc is more satisfying than just downloading.
  8. Haha!, I knew that was going to happen. It caught me so off guard I did not think to ask if she minded if I posted a pic. She was kind to let me take one and she was such a nice person, I wouldn’t feel right just posting it. She was very casually dressed as she was traveling and it’s a beach area as well , so A quick pic in Target is probably not her choice ( esp with mask on) to share publicly ! Now if she was someone full of themselves,,,,,might be a diff story !! I will just say Milano is living life well right now !
  9. Team sport. 22 positions. Just a thought, who won the last time they faced off? Hmmmm,,,,maybe a lot closer than you realize. Every year rosters change and ask Sean, it’s a whole new challenge. Op was correct that Brownies were more competitive against the AFC champs who easily thumped us twice. There was no point in either game where it felt like we could beat the Chiefs. Hope that changes , but like the Bucs proved last year , better defense , and an ability to run when needed still wins Championships. We tied our best record ever and yet we were still two games short of a championship. All I am saying is what EXACTLY makes you think sure we closed the overall talent gap between us and the Chiefs ? And I don’t think anyone woiod argue many Bills fans wanted Newsome and JOK as pieces to plug holes in our roster prior,to the draft, and many were calling for Clowney. Just reiterating , yep we have a better QB, but so far we have not proven we match up better than the Browns do as a team against the chiefs just based on recent past. Hope it changes , a lot depends on how much Sean and Frazier improve their performances in big games. Reid, much like Belicheck did until Brady left and many d players opted out , so far has outcoached and has Sean’s number. The Browns front office and coaching staff made big leaps last year and many think they had an impressive draft. We are a good team but so are the other two and unless mahomes disappears, Chiefs still favored and Bills / Browns will be close but still behind. We are going to be in a tougher division than last year. ,Pats, fins , Jets were all bad last year and I think the Pats will challenge us more this year. Also Bucky Brooks , a former Bills guy, just stated Browns made a huge haul during the draft and are a “ legitimate super bowl contender” so OP is not alone in his opinion. Nfl is a Qb AND COACHING driven league, so it’s more than Allen just being better than Mayfield. 😉
  10. Humor me please, I just thought I had an enjoyable, unusual Bills related story that happened to me today and I thought I would share it. I was out after getting a hair cut today while recording the last rounds of the draft to watch when I got home. On my way home I stopped in my local Target in Jacksonville Beach to pick up a few things. Grabbed a Starbucks , put in some earbuds and grabbed a cart as I headed toward the men’s area and also to check out if there were any new vinyl records I might want to add to my collection. I had my required mask on and was wearing a favorite Bills hat as I stopped to take a sip of coffee. I looked up to notice this petite, cute girl gesturing and saying something to me and I had to take out my earbuds to hear what she was saying. She was pointing at my Bills hat and asked me if she could take a picture of me. Not a common request so I asked why and she said her boyfriend was a football player for the Bills , and she was headed from a different part of the country to meet him in Naples Florida. She said her boyfriend had told her it was really unusual to see people in Florida with Bills gear on or see much about the Bills in the area he was. She told me she already had pics of two cars that had Bills decorations on them during her trip and that I was the first person she noticed with Bills gear on and she wanted to take my pic to send to her boyfriend proving there were more Bills supporters around than he thought. I told her I was a long time Bills fan and actually had Been watching the draft this weekend. I asked who her boyfriend was and she replied I probably wouldn’t know him, but his name was Matt Milano! She said he was currently in Naples doing OTA’s with some other players. So needless to say I said I knew exactly who he was and that he was a really good starting LB and had just signed a new contract making Bills mafia very happy! She was so nice and we talked for about 15 -20 min there in Target ! I did ask about how they met , how long they had been together , and just some basic questions about her background. To give her a little background about my Bills journey I told her I was a local dr originally from Ohio and had been a fan long enough to go to two Superbowls ( 27,28) , had my office decorated with Bills memorabilia yet had never been to a game in Buffalo sadly, was a Milano fan and hoped his returning was part of the Bills making it to the Super Bowl this next year. She told me they had met on Instagram and that Matt kept being persistent until she agreed to go out with him. She admitted to not knowing much about football, saying Matt tried to explain his position etc but she still didn’t get it fully! She said she ran her own tech company ( I didn’t press her for more as I didn’t want to seem intrusive ) and that prior to dating Matt she had dated a professional golfer for some time, explaining why she didn’t know about football and didn’t know Matt was a well known, very good player prior to agreeing to go out with him. She said she has been with Matt about 6 months now and was headed to Naples where Matt apparently is currently and according to her, he really loves the area. She told me they agreed to not talk much about football when they were together, and she made a big point of telling me how intelligent Matt is, being one of the most intelligent men she has met and that’s why she has continued to date him. She mentioned how they both were avid readers and enjoyed discussing books they enjoyed etc. She really emphasized how she enjoyed being around him and a couple of more times complemented his intelligence and quiet demeanor. I asked if it was true about him being minimalistic and she told me he usually wore T-shirt’s and made a point to do laundry very often so he didn’t have to buy lots of stuff to wear. It was pretty cute. She told me he was working out quite a bit now , “ lifting and working with these 100 lb chains “ and other stuff as he was participating in the Bills OTA’s like she previously mentioned. She couldn’t have been nicer and was a real pleasure to talk to. I wanted to post about meeting her because what were the chances of me meeting Milanos GF in a target in Jacksonville fl , having her come up to me because I had a Bills hat on , and then enjoying a conversation with her willing to talk openly ( I actually said I would let her go and didn’t want to keep her too long , yet she seemed in no hurry and probably would have kept talking for a while ). I was just so impressed by her kindness and not having any aloof attitude that sometimes you experience around professional football players or their entourages. I have met several players in different circumstances over my years here in Jax and I can’t say the same for some of the Bills I was introduced to ( tho time has changed a few of them ) and the GOAT receiver I met when the SB was in Jax had an ego to match ! Lol ! So Matt seems like a great, intelligent guy , and his current GF is extremely nice and I hope things work out for both of them. We finished up with her taking my pic with my Bills hat on and sending it to Matt ( I did take my mask off since I will at least be on his phone for a few min ! ) and she posed for a quick pick for me as I told her I would always have proof that I met Matt’s possible wife prior to him going to the Super Bowl this year ! ( she did keep her mask on which I get since she obviously doesn’t know me ). Forgive me for taking space to post this but it was so unexpected on draft weekend and I thought it was a nice experience along my journey as a Bills fan. Also a pleasure to post something that was all good about a Bills player we all know at a time when you so frequently read bad things all too often about players. . Maybe it’s a sign that Matt will have a good year with support from his kind GF on their way to a SB title and maybe more! I don’t want to post her pic because I didn’t ask or say I would ever do that, so all I have is my word as a long time TBD member and Bills fan that this is true and I am not creative enough to make something like this up ! ( Her first name starts with an A,, ends with an N if any of you know her ; seemed totally legit to me ! ) Have a great weekend and rest more easy knowing Matt and the Bills are hard at work with OTA’s as they get a jump on the next step to our first SB win!
  11. Congrats! That was an amazing and thorough analysis and was one of the best predictions I have seen or can remember on this board ! Really appreciate the highlights you provided and this guy looks exciting and should have a good shot at making the roster. Really , really good job and demonstration of your football knowledge and original thought process. Lots of opinions and “ experts “ on here , but not many back up their thoughts with facts and then putting all that together to actually get both the player and value / round to fall in line with the teams own thought process and analysis. Great job and you have earned the credibility title up until the 2022 draft! Really nice job ! 👏👍👌
  12. I respect your knowledge and know you have been a long time fan as I have ( myself from the 60’s) and I admire this front office so far. However , there is no way to compare them to a front office that placed 4 players in the HOF ( and I think Tasker and Bisquit deserve to be there as well) , had a HOF coach in two different leagues , placed the Gm himself in the HOF, won 4 straight AFC TITLES going to an unprecedented 4 straight Superbowls, managed to keep those teams driven despite their success and brought a sense of pride to Western New York that didn’t reappear ( related to the Bills) until last year. Yes , there was no free agency but for the Bills still to be the only team to go to 4 straight Superbowls and watching the Pats own the division for 20 years with their core intact yet could not repeat that accomplishment, speaks volumes of that front office and organization while dealing with a known frugal owner by many accounts. Polian also repeated his success in Carolina and Indy, so in my eyes Beane is just starting out and still has much to prove. The d line failures and lack of a run game that kept us a significant step behind both KC and Tampa are errors that you just can’t chose to be in denial of and say there were no issues with this roster and team building. Are they headed in the right direction ; it certainly looks that way but let’s see how we do next year with both KC and Tampa to play during the regular season. In the playoffs we could have easily lost to the Colts , got a key interception to turn the Ravens game around when it looked like they would tie us , and KC throttled us in both games last year. So this roster needs work. Polian Et.al. Built the roster and despite drafting 31 st all those years, kept the roster on top of the AFC. One AFC East title does not make a dynasty and let’s see how we do fixing that d and getting a decent run game as teams are drafting to combat our passing game while loading up on tight end talent as they have seen us get burned time and time again by TE’s in the seams and with a power running attack (the Browns may have beaten us had they gotten the chance with their run game which I believe they beat us with at our last meeting and now their defensive draft class looks outstanding ). We got fortunate with a Cam fumble as we were going to lose that game and by the time we played them the second time the wheels had come off as that game was finally us beating them soundly. This off season they loaded up on tight ends , backs , future Qb, and beefed up their pass rush thru the draft, free agency , and got back guys who opted out. Just saying we are in for a battle to retain the East as most people are stating both the Fins and Jets had good drafts and I think the Pats will be a very tough defensive unit compared to last year. We need to at least get to one Super Bowl before any claim this office is better than the one our legacy was built by. I like and respect Mcbeane and the future LOOKS bright ; let’s just see if they can actually make that promise into reality and then I am willing to consider your premise. Just thinking it doesn’t make it so. I will say Beane bringing in Diggs reminds me of Polian swinging the deal for Bennett and both produced major results on their respective sides of the ball. You may be on to something and all I am saying with all due respect is it’s early and time will tell! It’s going to be an entertaining ride no matter what! 😊😉
  13. You might be a little closer to delirium than being in a “ funny mood”! Might be time to put the draft guides away and try to catch a little sleep! Maybe this was already conjured up under the influence of Ambien! Lol,,,, tomorrow will be a fresh new start! 😀😊
  14. Yep, I think melifonwu ( sp, cuse cb) may have actually seen more snaps this year and given us a little hope in solving our long standing issue covering tight ends , but they decided a backup swing tackle prospect was more pressing. I think it’s their order of filling needs that is raising questions so far in this draft. Still 4 picks to go so hopefully Beane will find more answers.
  15. Great points and I appreciate the stats you provided. D line needed work, my only issue is was this the draft with actual talent at edge to truly make a difference THIS YEAR. We had a shot at JOK ( 15 th ranked player overall by many) who can blitz, cover tight ends , and actually had production last year. We may have stood still a little too long allowing Cleveland, a conference and probable playoff foe, to jump up and grab him. I like McBeane addressing our d issues , I just wonder if taking two edge guys was the best option for getting the needed production this season. I hope so!
  16. I will forever have distasteful visions of macho fan from the Browns dancing around on the stage and Cleveland jumping ahead of us to draft JOK just a few spots ahead of us sitting at 61. I was hoping after he made it that long that we had a great shot at him and I envisioned us finally having an answer to tight ends like Kelce, the Pats running 12 personnel, and the fins tight ends also abusing us! I thought Beane sat still a little too long with JOK within reach at a reasonable price , and Cleveland was aggressive knowing they needed an answer for Kelce as well after addressing edge with Clowney and Garrett. We still have no answer for covering tight ends but maybe we can get some actual sacks rather than just pressures that don’t seem to bother Mahomes or Brady. We still need to hope we develop a run game and we still have to see if we can get production from our tight ends down the seams. Still more draft to go but Beane was not leaving without ramping up pressure from our d lines!
  17. What were the issues with his workout, and do you think they are a red flag or warning of any significance, or was it just a bad day? Trust your opinion and am curious given he was not coming off any injuries and should have been in his best shape/ preparation given he took 2020 off. Thx for taking the time if you feel like replying,,,,no harm tho if you have other things more important going on! 😀
  18. It’s a great point Yolo. How much has to be invested , esp in the d line , before we get production or enough is enough? Yet people were complaining we should not use a pick to get adequate talent in our backfield just because we spent two prior third round picks on RBs with moderate production. Pittsburgh and even The Jags realized the two talented backs in yesterday’s first round, and despite holes in their lines they still saw the need to have speed and someone with good hands out of the backfield. Rather than take the 5 th rated project edge rusher with only one productive season ( and many pointed out his sacks were bolstered with coverage sacks and against inferior interior lineman he won’t see in the NFL; epenesa overpowered people in college too only to get a wake up call last year against NFL talent), why not try going up a few spots to add to Allen’s weapons and help protect him from being our leading rusher ? Maybe Williams will still be possible but I would think he will be gone by 61 as many are predicting the Fins to take him early in the second round. Our backs were third round picks for a reason, and even Jenkins was available when we picked to help bolster the O line, yet we once again go d lineman with a first round pick! We still have no one who can cover Kelce , Tampa’s gronk, and the Pats are loading up on Tight ends as well , so if we insisted on drafting d, why not take the BPA like Beane insists he does; try to be creative with JOK for example ( ranked 15 th overall by most draft gurus, and admittedly wanted to be a Bill) who can cover tight ends, can blitz, could play as a third safety in a look that Tampa used successfully ( casserly’s analysis) and was still available? . Beane went with a position of perceived need which may eventually catch up with us as we pass over better athletes. I hope I’m wrong, and he produces this year but McD has a tendency to not give a lot of snaps to rookies ( see epenesa), plus we have a known d line rotation inherently limiting his snaps. I would argue an O lineman, someone like JOK, or even a back Williams would all play more snaps with larger benefit NOW as we push for a run at the SB. Value wise I think we could have gotten a similarly productive edge with our second pick given how likely a rookie edge is to get significant snaps. Most analysts suggest there is still a significant gap between us, KC , and Tampa. Given last year’s production, we may still struggle to stop either with our D , so why not try to put pressure on them by enhancing our O (maybe we are a little better with Sanders)? With an off season to analyze our trends and a one dimensional O that struggles to run the ball, we won’t be harder to stop than we were when it counted last year. ( our O struggled in the playoffs the past two years). Dabol deserves more talent in the backfield where we lack speed and consistency ( brieda is possible fix but real competition would help. It seems important to give Dabol options to take carries from Allen to keep him healthy! Even if we didn’t go with an RB, I would argue there were better players on the board than an edge with one year production two seasons ago. Beane has been great but not perfect as evidenced by last years additions on d line. I just think this was a time to bolster production and taking perceived “ boom/bust project” with that first pick may not pan out this year and was a questionable use of the one pick you expect to get good production from immediately. Hopefully the rest of the draft will look more beneficial. 😊
  19. I was an original club member that bought season tickets to the Jags BEFORE they started playing. Had to make that commitment two years ahead. Of the team starting. Had two club seats on the 35 yard line , 8 rows behind the visitors bench. It was a great experience and I was able to take my Father , who passed away in 2002, to his first pro football game on a Monday night against the Steelers. The season ticket holder next to us got arrested and taken out in handcuffs for fighting and being drunk that night , promoting my dad to ask “ how much are you paying for this?!” Lol! Kept the seats up until the Bills lost the music city miracle and had they won they would have come to Jax the next week for the AFC championship game. The next week the Titans crushed the jags to go to the SB and the Titans lost on the one yard line. I even got to see Marino’s last game as the fins were destroyed by the Iags and Jimmy Johnson pulled Marino in that game. So I had some interesting memories. However, I hated the jags games interfering with my ability to watch the Bills so I gave up my club seats after that year. The jags have been terrible and frankly , boring to follow and I have attended just a couple of games since that time. I am originally from Ohio, a big buckeye fan and so now starting the Urban Myer era is interesting and I hope will breathe some life back into the franchise. Interesting fact; I did my family practice residency for 3 years in an inner city hospital in Toledo, Ohio called Mercy Hospital. Also did my Med school before that in Toledo so I was up there 6 years before coming to Jax for good. BOTH Urban and Harbaugh ( Michigan coach) were BORN in that hospital and ai delivered about 50 babies there and attended many more deliveries as the lead resident in Peds responsible for newborn resuscitation! I am 63 , was in Toledo between ages 21-27 , so I don’t think I was there for those two deliveries. However, Jax is a small town really so maybe I will run into Urban someday and kid him that I was there for his first breaths so that qualifies me as one of his early fans! It’s a small world, and while nothing will ever come between myself and my loyalty to the Bills, tonight we may see Urban begin to start making Jax relevant again. I can’t remember if the Bills come down here this year but if they do , I might finally go back to see our great Bills team down here on our way to the Super Bowl! Maybe I can finally meet some of you great people after all these years. Enjoy the draft tonight ,, I would love to see us draft a playmaker like Harris or Etienne just to make our O that much more unstoppable. Here’s hoping Beane keeps up his magic and we have a good night. Will also be interesting to see Urbans first draft and the beginning of his NFL era as I already was at least in the delivery suite where it all started for him ! 😀😊😎
  20. Please don’t let them swing getting Aaron Rodgers! They have a lot of draft capital. What a nightmare! One yea without Brady and then RODGERS SHOWS UP!? Lol. If there is a football God, don’t let this happen!
  21. I get your point and it may amount to just getting used to the change. However , Brady is a pretty cerebral guy so if he is seeing* potential problems, there may be something to his concern. For example, many Lb’s and safety’s are fairly close to each other in size or at quick glance. Now throw something in like Belicheck running that amoeba front that Josh actually had trouble with up until this past season. Even the first game was close and came down to the fumble covered by zimmerman. So all the guys are upright and shifting positions before the snap; I could easily see thinking a guy is a LB who looks like he is coming , but instead it’s a more sure handed safety who unexpectedly drops with the TE and Josh was thinking the TE was an open hot read and throws where a more mobile safety can react and pick it off. Josh went that way thinking he had a favorable matchup against a LB based on traditional uni numbers before the number changes , but now that guy is a safety , more agile in coverage , and I could at least fathom how this MIGHTbe an issue. Habit is a real thing, especially when you have had a certain system your entire career and you have 2 seconds to read and react. All I’m saying is if the most successful QB in NFL history sees potential issues, it probably has some validity and I imagine younger QBs and certainly rookies might struggle with it until they get games under their belt. Maybe they do identify players more by number and not just where they line up and I envision defensive coaches will try to use this in their favor somehow; hell once a year Belicheck pulls some obscure rule out to gain an advantage in a game! Just thinking it.might actually be an issue if Brady is concerned, and it just seems with all the issues in the NFL( making wrong calls, still making errors with replay, shaky definitions about what constitutes a catch etc), this just seems like they created a problem where there was no pressing need to do so! Lol! After 50 plus years of seasons, all the issues with COVID and attendance etc, this was an issue that HAD to be adresssed? A cynic might think it’s a way to generate jersey sales coming off a lower revenue season, and now some fans fav player whose jersey they own decides to change to his old high school number ! Guess we won’t know till we see what happens. 😊🧐
  22. I believe Beane just said they will address the Allen situation AFTER the draft, so not sure how that fits in with 5 th year option. Given the dates involved.
  23. That’s because they CUT BOTH starting tackles. So they add Thuney, Brown ,and Long comes back after a year off. They are set on the o line ; we couldn’t get to mahomes with the two guys they cut , we have added little to bolster our rush with hughes, Addison each a year older, so they address Their main weakness and Reid et al continue to be front runners easily in the AFC. I don’t get how we could not have addressed our rush in more productive way; heck even the Browns with a premier rusher like Garret added Clowney. We won’t significantly bolster our rush with edge guys available at 30 in the draft, so this doesn’t seem like much progress for our chances to be more competitive with the Chiefs or Tampa Bay. That’s why IMHO at 30 you add another offensive weapon ( one of the two top backs) because we better be able to avg 33-35 pts a game because nothing so far about our D makes me think we can stop top tier offenses. Signing our own FA was great, but we didn’t beat KC or the Titans last year and I doubt we could stop Cleveland’s run oriented offens( it’s better than Baltimore because they at least have a capable QB with play action), so I think we need to put pressure on teams by scoring because we have done nothing impressive with our D and are depending on Star to be a stabilizing factor. That doesn’t put pressure on Mahomes, esp with their new line. KC always seems to be a step ahead of us and they are not afraid to go after impact players every year. Beane has been very good, but has made little progress creating a D line that can impact games.
  24. Maybe a missed opportunity for us, certainly a decent signing for the Browns who have a very good roster and direction now. I think they will be right there with the Bills and Chiefs in the battle for the AFC and we are getting thin on options to bolster our pass rush. A little puzzling given we have known since the AFC championship game that this is our major defensive weakness and gap separating us from the Chiefs.
  25. On Bills live Tasker and Brown stated there are only three people in both Canadian and American HoFS. Marv was on live and it was a little dull rehashing the past for the millionth time so I switched to something else rather than waiting the entire show to get the other two names. Definitely sure in the numbers tho.
