Milano had quite a few big hits today and at least broke up passes or caused some drops today. He looked to be back to 100% and had burst hitting people that he lacked when he first came back.

"Say Something Nice About Isaiah McKenzie"
DrPJax replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s not his fault he is not being used appropriately so far this year ! At least it didn’t bounce forward off that brick wall he has crafted with his hands and a chest after lifting all those weights ! A few Bills players made more mistakes than he did today ! He will be a great support on the PS when Stevenson comes off Ir and be a great moral support for the rookie in the playoffs ! That’s all I got so far. 😊 -
The “math” of going for 2 makes no sense
DrPJax replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in The Stadium Wall
No different than Mcd choosing to go for it on 4 th in tenn; was going for a POSSIBLE win on the road in a difficult venue, esp since our O was not scoring at will. Remember we only had 3 pints at half time. We all know how many times this o can suddenly for no reason go into periods where they just make mental errors, stall drives for quarters at a time etc. With their record he was risking nothing and was actually thinking a little out of the box and it worked as far as getting the chance he was hoping for, right ? Why can’t we ever or rarely ever stop two point conversions ? I bet we are one of the lower successful teams at stoping those and paradoxically, we are also quite bad at converting them ourselves and both things played out again today. -
Let me enlighten you just a little so you can be a better human being and hopefully it will even benefit people who care about you interact with you for one reason or another; have you ever experienced something totally out of your control, something that happened that you didn’t chose or Cause , but you still did something reflexive like coughing , or breathing , or half a heartbeat , or have a bowel movement ( eg like diarrhea) …….you get the idea? It’s like you experiencing some emotion to me writing this, you can’t help but feel something right ,,,,like who is this ass speaking to me or whatever you are thinking or feeling right as you see this !? Have you ever had a sore throat or caught a cold ,,,,,and did you chose willfully to have the symptoms associated with those viral illnesses? Perhaps you have NEVER experienced an illness and you are the first perfect human being God has created ( just betting the odds are pretty much against that , but at least thought I would ask ! )? Have you met or heard about any human beings with diabetes for example while you have been at least physically present ? Well, that’s how mental health works ; just like your heart beating and your brain stem triggering you to breathe , symptoms occur , real physical symptoms, that you never chose or asked for, or have any control over at least at some point and for some duration! If this guy had diabetes that suddenly elevated his sugar to dangerous levels , would you think he was pathetic because that happened even tho he may have never been diagnosed with diabetes before the first episode of uncontrolled blood sugar levels threatened his life, or do you know it was only possible to be his fault or the reaction to something he did ? Just asking as I don’t know your life experience at all, in all sincerity. That’s the analogy with mental health. No one CHOSES to have their heartbeat race, feel short of breath , break out in a cold sweat etc. It’s call physiology , neurotransmitters ( natural chemicals ) creating uncontrollable symptoms and feelings, and they can mimic things like a heart attack where the only way to differentiate them is with actual blood work being analyzed. What a concept ! I realize you are probably just being funny or sarcastic , but wanted to take the chance to help someone less enlightened than you to understand how mental health and a human central nervous system work. It’s like you having no control over your love of the Bills,,,,most of the time it’s a glorious thing but then there are things like Hail Murray or Music City Miracle ! That should probably break it down to something we all can relate to. Happy Halloween , and I wish that guy all the best as one human to another and it took courage to explain that publicly so he at least has some good character traits to build on ! 🍸👍

Great story. It’s just amazing how some things are larger than life and you could never imagine realistically meeting Oj AFTER that trial etc. It just goes to show what a small world it is sometimes. Being in medicine , in family practice , urgent care , and a bunch of other things in 35 years of practice in Jax beach after growing up in the sticks of ohio, close to Steubenville ( not far. From Pittsburgh , but a coal mining , steel industry area once voted the most polluted city in the US, It is the hometown of Dean Martin tho! ) ) , turned out to be so surreal at times. I literally graduated from a consolidated HS with a graduating class of about 90 ( two prior HS classes combined as I was bussed an hour each way just cuz there were no people in the area !) Because Jax is a beach area the one main urgent care I was stationed at was about a min from the ocean.. So even tho Jax is not a hot spot , I still saw la fair amount of “celebrities “ come in. With jelly fish stings and fish hooks in them, lacerations etc. The Sb that was in Jax (35?) with the chiefs / eagles was one last thing I will remember about memorabilia and even some Bills things surrounding it. The Nike PR person came in with a sore throat the Thursday before the game. While treating her she was very kind and asked if I was going to the game. I wasn’t but she was so nice she came back the next day with 4 boxed, gold medallions ( these things were heavy, in boxes made of football leather and with the SB logo engraved on them. They were impressive And were tickets to the Nike pre super bowl party) Nike rented out a whole hotel called the Casa Marina right on Jax beach for their party So I took 3 guys from the clinic with me whom I really enjoyed working with, to enjoy a football party before that SB! Free food, free bar, and they had a tent with heaters over the courtyard and down to the beach front. That night we got to casually meet guys like Andy Reid ( super nice , big dude!) Warrick Dunn ( nicest football player I have ever met and smaller than I was and I’m 5’9”)., and a slew of other guys and their Entourages just enjoying the party. The reason I mention it is because of how unbelievable it was to just be mingling with people way out of my social league, and two guys struck me as head turners because they had large groups of people hanging around them; Jerry Rice, and Jim Kelly ! Both were surrounded by women and body guards! Unlike Reid who was alone and easily approachable , there was no way any unfamiliar person was ever getting close to those two You mention OJ making sure his presence was known, well, I saw lots of examples of that over the years and I am sure some of the players could compete with him for attention grabbing ( tho not for the same sociopathic reasons ) . James lofton was there but also very approachable. This was A time before Jim had any health issues and I think he has changed quite a bit since that time and God bless him for it. It was a great night but the worst thing was Nike kept the dog gone Gold medallions and all we got to keep was the boxes they came in.! Would have loved to keep those but I guess Nike drew a line in the sand concerning the medallions! 😀 I can only imagine what types of experiences you must have had over the years in your hotel you described ! I bet it was / has been an amazing experience in people watching and behavior , and I wonder if you ever dreamed growing up ( not knowing your background) you would ever be around people like OJ etc!? World famous guy for both good and terrible reasons , but still , funny how life can be so unpredictable! It would be great sitting and having a drink while listening to some of your experiences ! Great story, and it’s amazing how we both probably were fans of his only to see how crazy his “ story” became and it had to be very weird to see him in that light in your hotel! Some people are better in person than you might ever expect , and then there’s that other group that don’t quite live up the image they portray. Have a great Halloween and hope the Bills squish the fish! 😊🍸 Thx for sharing that !

True story, I won, bought a signed OJ JERSEY at super bowl 27 in Pasadena which was BEFORE the murders. I was in a bar watching the news one night after work as the bronco was headed down the road. I had the signed jersey , a football , and a helmet all signed by the 90’s Bills teams in specially built cabinets in my medical office ( my office, not the waiting room ). Might be karma, but I was hit with a couple of kidney stones , was out if work a bit and someone stole the oj Jersey! No break in occurred and it was ‘92 I believe, so I didn’t have cameras all over the inside. Still pisses me off just cuz he WAS A great back , and It was a unique piece of memorabilia from a super bowl trip that otherwise was a tough game to be at. Crazy but true story. So SB 27 was crazy for me. Mean Joe Green asked my then GF for her autograph on the flight from Atlanta out because he was reading a mag with Hillary on the cover and nfl Gf looked much like her ! Then I got the stuff at the auction. I still have 3 uncut skybox card (90 cards to a sheet ,) printed right there at the super bowl experience before the game. One sheet has Fina as a rookie plus , Kelly , Thurman, Bruce, metzalars, Bennett, and Tasker all on the same sheet which was a limited 20 k printing and it’s in mint condition. ( btw, I have had a serious neck injury recently and now looking to pass that on to a bills fan to add to their collection. Would love to get it to Fina since he was a rookie if anyone knows how to get in touch. ) Have two other sheets , one with all the cowboys stars on it. Michael Jackson performed at half time to start the trend of huge half time shows. My seats were on the goal line and despite the game, that was the ENDZONE Beebe ran down Leon lett and stripped the ball. I was across the field but right on the goaline line about 20 rows up , so had a good view of the play. Didn’t mean a lot at the time ,but it’s now one of my fav Bills memories. Finally , on the plane ride home there was a pleasant middle age couple sitting behind me and they were very happy and had SB victory cowboy gear on. Began talking to them and turns out they were Kelvin Martins parents ( k- mart , WR for Dallas) who were from Jacksonville ! They actually became patients of mine in my family practice office after that experience! Sorry if it seems like a LAMP post, but not intended that way. It was just crazy how I loved Oj as a young fan , won his signed jersey at an official NFL auction at SB 27, only months later to see him as a wife beating, criminal who I think most agree should still be in prison for obvious reasons! All the stuff I wrote is true and it’s hard to believe it all happened around my love for that Bills team and time as a fan since being a kid in ‘63 when I first rooted for the Bills against the Jets just to have fun with my father who was a huge Jets fan for some reason ( Namath perhaps?). If you ever get a chance to go to a SB with the Bills. , DO IT IF YOU CAN! Prices have gotten crazy. I went to SB 27& 28 in Atlanta , but the cost then was about 10k $ for two including flight, hotel, pre game parties , game tickets with transportation! I don’t think you can get anything near that now , but if money is ever not an issue, from an old guy (64) now , I still remember those games and things like it was yesterday, and now faced with possibly a career ending neck issue, those memories are truly priceless! Still hope to be alive to see us actually win one , but if they get back there guys, if it’s at all possible , find a way to be there ! 😀👍

As John Fina , prior bills tackle in the super bowl years , said on his podcast , those stats mean nothing. Sure they look good but in reality Josh shock have had a completion percentage above 80% and chose to not throw. Multiple times to wide open receivers in the short zones and keep mixing the chains. It’s about scoring and the W , not the stats you are bragging about as being proof that Josh is above criticism. We lost and we shouldn’t have to a team that injury riddled! Also on the final sneak it’s true dawkins s beaten badly , and as Fina points out , Josh took an unnecessary hop step to the left which is something you are never taught in a qb sneak. You drive forward and if you review the film from above , Morse and Williams had driven their guys back into the ENDZONE , and if Josh had just not hopped to his left there was an easy path to the first down and even a possible td. As Fina said , 70% of the failure of that play was on Josh not just using his size and power to get a few inches and I believe a lineman who has been in the teaching rooms over all the pundits on here who are such homers at times they can’t face facts that Josh needs better situational awareness at times and still Can improve. . The proof is in the scoreboard, it was an L, not the silly stats that mean nothing concerning the final outcome. Try keeping a more open mind and not letting your fan boy over ride rational thought and perhaps get some help with analysis from guys who have actually been in those situations. 🤔😀We all love Josh , but he still causes lots of drives to stall with some intellectual breakdowns and hopefully he will actually do what he says in his pressers when he constantly repeats “ I have to be better , I can’t do that”! We’ve heard a lot over the prior 3 years. He just needs to develop consistency and he could become Brady like in his career.

Zach Wilson knee injury [sprained PCL, miss 2-4 weeks]

Great point! Still with the emphasis on qb protection I am surprised it’s ok to hit a qb deliberately going for the knees. Great point tho , thx! -
Taylor Heinicke TD Ruled No TD! Why?
DrPJax replied to Never NEVER Give-up's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yep, that article was from 2018, and I can’t believe that’s being called consistently. For example when Josh dove for the possible first down against the titans, that would mean the ball would have been spotted where he started the dive and not where it was spotted where he landed. What if he had attempted to dive over the pile on 4 th , by that rule the ball would be spotted behind the line! Another example of the nfl trying to legislate too much and By doing so it ends up creating subjectivity into the calls more and more.with resulting inconsistency. Also If a player fumbles forward like you described I am pretty sure if that player recovers they are the only one who can still advance the ball and so a td would be possible. Sounds like more terrible refs influencing outcomes and it’s getting intolerable. No also dove for a first down head first tonight on 2 nd and 15 and he dove for the last 2 yards on a 17 yd run, so the rule of it still exists is not being uniformly enforced. I don’t see how it could as it goes against all of prior tradition in football fighting and diving for tds or first downs. If this officiating keeps being this bad sooner or later the NFL will lose a big class action suit by a fan base whose team lost and they will have a ton of film to support prior things not being called in a similar fashion. Imagine a call like that in a super bowl deciding the outcome! That’s a Billsy thing to happen! 😀 -
Zach Wilson knee injury [sprained PCL, miss 2-4 weeks]
DrPJax replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Disgusting how inconsistent the referees and calls are. That first hit was brutal and most likely where most if not all of the damage to his pcl occurred. Blatant hit that looks like a dirty pats play going almost directly right for his knees and yet no call in a wide open field where there is no excuse or way the refs did not see it yet ignored it. This stuff is what hurts the NFL; phantom holding calls like on Morse, yet the most dangerous type of hit below the waist directed at a qbs knees and nothing but crickets. That crew needs to be fined and let’s hope this pats crap doesn’t show up when Josh is exposed. Afc is filled with good teams and we have 2 conference losses. Titans destroyed the Chiefs, so just another sign we don’t want to go there in the pLayoffs. Bengals, Ravens, Raiders all look good and are 5-2 so we need to get our red zone issues solved and not play down to weaker teams we will be facing. I think Daboll needs to back off on so many personnel groups and simplify things for consistency. Titans have a good formula, run game threat and it opens their passing game up along with an ability to pressure and hit the qb. We have to get better line play, and I hope Mcd stops the “ numbers” game with all the rotating inactive. You drafted all the d lineman , no need for 8 active o lineman on game day ( that’d why we have swing guys , right?) , so get AJ & Basham playing and getting reps as we have to hit the qb. The Bucs, Pack, and Cards look legit as well so we have lots of progress to get to their level of consistency if we actually have title hopes. -
It is when you’ve lost two games already to talent inferior teams. Was 31 points enough, or 20? The problem is too many points are still being left on the field , and Most of that is on Josh. As Jonn Fina just said on his podcast w Joe miller , Josh is looking off many wide open shorter route receivers, and esp did that during the Titans game. Yes his completion % was high at 77% or so , but there is no reason it could not have been 80% or more, and it cost us two fg in the red zone early. If we get tds there , 14-0 , makes it harder to keep using Henry. It felt like Josh wanted to prove he was the qb to expose the backup cbs of the Titans deep , ( Finas assessment, who btw is excellent to understand our line play and game plans in general) , rather than go to frequently open receivers like the backs. The next ti the last drive while leading and a chance to go up 2 scores was an example of hero Josh mindset rearing it’s head and he should be past that in his 4 th year now. He is capable of better , like against the WFT, and he has been great against weak teams with big margins fir error ( KC was a good game against a horrible defense ) Just need him to take the open backs when there during playoff time and not contribute to losing any more winnable games that will put us on the road for the playoffs Josh is an amazing talent, he just needs to remember it’s not all about going deep, it’s about efficiency and scoring and getting the backs involved adds another red zone threat. Will admit tho , I don’t trust motor very much in the passing game yet. I also think Daboll need to simplify all the packages in the red zone. No consistent identity and it seems no one is getting consistent reps to become proficient yet. Check out Finas podcast, it’s new, well done. Off tackle with John Fina I think! His rookie year was super bowl 27 in Pasadena. He was only called for 7 holding penalties in 9 years with the Bills, something amazing and proves how good technique is lacking on our current line! It’s a stat he is very proud of !

Refs need to stay out if deciding this one! Hope it goes that way with no ridiculous PI calls
-
May have been the players fault but I get your point, why even allow a chance of that !
-
Next level smart coaching on both sides in chargers game. Chargers decision making is looking great. These offenses really look good.
-
Cards still going to be unbeaten as hopkins catches another big late td.
-
Wow, a little surprising after seeing him working out. Bills continue being very conservative. Would be nice playing the Chiefs with a healthy roster once.
-
If there was no airway issue, then that’s no contraindication to playing. An airway issue compressing the trachea or larynx would be pretty obvious usually.
-
Herbert is an amazing pure passing talent. Would like to see Josh be this consistent. Coaching with the chargers has a bright future Big difference from Anthony and now looks like the right choice over Daboll whom I thought was going to be a good fit here. Cleveland with great coaching looks amazing as well. Wish we coukd run like that ! Going to be tough out in playoffs.

Might be a little concerning if we lose tonight. Titans are getting their rhythm back on O and looked good today. If we lose tonight, it sets up a deja vu scenario from last year and going into Tennessee will be a tough game. Probably depends on how we play should we lose tonight and injuries etc. Certainly 3-3 is possible. The AFC east is luckily terrible with only the Pats a possible challenger. They pulled out a lucky win today as Houston collapsed. We have some challenges coming up as New Orleans is getting into shape and Tampa will be favored over us because we can’t beat Brady yet. He is looking in complete control and that team looks like the Pats with him at the helm We will take our division tho because the gap in talent between us and the rest of the division looks insurmountable if injuries don’t change something. Lucky year to get back to the playoffs but was hoping for home field all the way and I really think tonight is the key. Tough loss we may be mentally vulnerable to repeat last years two game slide. Titans coming into the game confident and should we lose tonight p, I am pretty sure they will see this as a very winnable game at home given how they dominated us there last year. -

DrPJax replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Coaching always looks better with talent. We have more talent with groot and star in there against the run this year. Hat also has allowed more depth in the interior line with zimmer and he has more experience this year as well. We’ll see if that plays out stopping the run today which would be a huge improvement over our last meetings with KC. That front line anchoring against the run is a huge factor as I see it tonight , esp is the weather is questionable. If KC can open things up with a good run game, it further opens up their passing attack and they just become unstoppable. If we get behind more than a score , Our O tends to press and they seem to make simple mistakes and penalties in that situation and KC can also shorten the game with a good running game. We will see if off season additions plus having Star back are enough to turn things around after last year. I hope Frazier and Sean don’t play conservatively and send some blitzes from a safety or occasional corner blitzes as well. Mahomes had no pressure last year so again, why not try something differet? I do believe our D. Is improved, but I have to admit our level of competition so far makes it hard to believe stats totally. My biggest game concern is how will Allen be affected in KC with that huge crowd. I have seen the 90’s teams go Into that environment and get totally pounded even on the way to one of their Super Bowls, so I am fearful this situation will be more than Josh is prepared for. He seems to grow every year and had not faced this environment in addition to the Super Bowl expectations for the team. I am kind of expecting to see that confused look on him at times if things start to unravel a little. If we get down more than a possession, I just think he presses and is prone to mistakes. The one way out of this is if we can play from being ahead and somehow win the turnover battle or get a defensive or special teams score. I just don’t have faith in the offense alone YET this year based on their struggles in the red zone. They had issues AT HOME against Houston , so I can’t expect this to be solved in this situation. I hope I’m wrong , but I think this game IN KC is going to prove too much for Josh on this trip, unless our D actually is as real as the stats would lead us to believe. The playoffs may be different for us tho as by then perhaps our O is in sync and has fixed the red zone issues and we don’t rely on Bass. -
Best wishes and good luck! Hope the Sunday night game chills your own pre game jitters! Hope the Bills give you a great , cheerful, serenity as you head in to surgery the following morning and. I am confident you are headed to better days and more comfortable pacing as the Bills keep marching themselves toward that elusive super bowl!

Matt Milano #hammywatch - update - officially off the injury report
DrPJax replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
That is actually a good prognostic sign. If it takes longer than one day to be able to walk or ambulate normally , that usually correlates with a more significant injury and longer recovery time and return to play time. Hamstrings function is to decelerate the leg while running or cutting , so if he actually jogged or was allowed to jog it means he was not having significant pain or soreness during a time when greeter force is being used with muscle contraction. Hamstring injuries like another poster stated, are rarely one week injuries as two week recovery times are even felt to be rapid. I was surprised to see there is a long term study with minor hamstring injury in NFL players ( 13 years , 58 players) ) that showed a steroid injection in the area lead to quick recovery, return to play, and was not associated with any long term risks of reinjury or other adverse effects ( surprising since it has been thought that steroid injections can deteriorate muscle tissue; usually don’t do steroid shots in muscle injuries for regular non athletes ) He will probably get an mri or ultrasound to see the extent and then return is based on clinical factors like having no pain with testing or running. So seeing him already walking or jogging MAY be hopeful for next week. Good catch seeing that! 👍😀 We can only hope ! -
Matt Milano #hammywatch - update - officially off the injury report
DrPJax replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree , just from the way he was trying to guard as he was hopping away, it looked like he was pretty hampered and didn’t want to plant or put weight on it. Almost looks like someone who felt something pop or give suddenly vs feeling a strain, tightness develop. Looks can be deceiving tho, but pretty sure he will be getting an mri soon for diagnostic \ prognostic reasons. Figures as Hill gets going with 3 tds, we are shuffling our o line ; poyer, Johnson,Feliciano, now milano ( who is the most concerning since this is new) with questions as we have to travel to play in KC for third straight game against them and it feels like KC still has an edge going into the game. Our d line has not gotten sacks despite the pressures and I’m not sure that’s enough against Mahomes who is obviously leaps beyond all the QBs we have faced so far this year. Have we closed the gap enough since last year in the area ( getting to Mahomes) that both Sean and Beane felt was the key to taking the next step and actually beating Kc ? Just hoping we could have our regular starters in as Milano has stepped up his leadership and game this year and it’s terrible timing for a slow healing injury. Wishing him a speedy recovery so we don’t see a two game slide like we did last year. Sure didn’t look great at first glance.
