  2. No, high level running backs with high level offensive lines is not the correct answer. Wide receivers are the correct answer. And yeah, I did indeed get you, even if you're desperate enough to use sarcasm unsuccessfully in your argument. Do the Eagles think that running back is the least important skill position? Well, they pay Sequin around $20M AAV. That's a lot of simoleons. But not as many as they pay AJ Brown. Around $32M AAV if I remember correctly. So yeah, the Eagles do think WR is more important than RB. The whole league does. Kid yourself that a completely imaginary, theoretical email that you're apparently writing yourself in your own mind would be more definitive if you want. It's weak sauce, but if that's the way you want to go, that's your choice. But in a capitalist society, and a part of it with a salary cap, it's not difficult to tell what teams value. They pay more for what they value more. Money is the yardstick. That's why it's not surprising that James Cook wants more of it. Or that AJ Brown gets more of it. Oh, and I do agree with you that RBs move the needle. It's just that WRs move it more.
  3. Wasnt it down to eligibility why they ended up on it? Couple that with Josh being the reigning MVP, last year in the Ralph and Keon Coleman showing his personality in the pre and post draft processes, it was probably the easiest choice among the teams on offer.
  4. Beautifully written story and analogy. But what is the maximum number of tacos needed to justify the parking lot improvement? That's what the beane counters are analyzing. between 11mil and 15 mil is a lot of tacos.
  5. I know it’s camp but he’s proving the reservations I had on him wrong. Thankfully. Any word on Landon Jackson? Many were raving about him when he was drafted but haven’t heard a peep other than the injury.
  6. It’s not the getting paid part that’s the problem. It’s the amount. Pay him Aaron Jones/Joe Mixon money; $10m p/y. At a push, maybe Josh Jacobs @ 12m Saquon, CMC and Taylor money? No thanks. Even though he is easily on Taylor’s level.
  7. You should get someone to cut your grass one or two days and save the last for yourself!
  8. Nice try but do you really think that a sex ring with underage girls is equivalent to two consenting adults? MAGA will say anything to preemptively excuse Trump. We will never know the facts, but he isn’t acting innocent.
  9. We have a new hard rock casino nearby. Went to dinner there and they had a Morton' like place which was ok but pricey. Rooms were uber bucks and the place felt creepy. Lots of people losing money and feeling it. I'd pick another place for dinner next time.
  10. Trump is mentally fit? Really?
  11. Overwhelmingly you are correct but there is instances where RBs completely “move the needle” for a team. Derrick Henry in Baltimore and Saquon in Philly turned them into powerhouses. @Mister Defense’s point about Jacobs, they dramatically improved going to him versus Aaron Jones who they let walk which is why I don’t understand the point about them not moving the needle. They can and do.
  12. I think this is sad, but I don’t think it’s surprising. Trump has indeed divided the country on levels we haven’t seen in generations. I’m not saying it justifies these poll numbers but I find some of what has happened since he took that escalator ride as embarrassing for the country. And I’m (I think) a bit more moderate. I do get very passionate about two topics, yes, but even I now see a house or truck with a giant American flag on it and for a second think “Trumper” instead of “Murca” like I used to. So if I think that, just imagine what the ones who find everything he does as evil feel. This chart shows it isn’t just the purple haired eunuchs in my current state of CA. It’s 64% of Dems. So that includes people you know and respect. The question should be asked immediately after, “Why not?” I mean it’s pretty clear exactly when that line drops like a rock. I guess what I’m saying is again, it’s sad. But I kinda get it. And it’s in no way surprising.
  13. Darn, thought I had it!! Oh well, I will do try harder on the next pop quiz. But there you go again with that obviously humorous idea--'running backs don't move the needle on offense', simply ignoring the fact, which can be very pesky things, that almost all the top teams last year had dynamic running games--and star running backs. Like I said originally, just repeating that silly thing over and over, as you are now doing, ignoring the facts, does not make it any more legitimate.
  14. The Bills have a top five (arguably) offensive line and a dual threat quarterback. That makes running back a more valuable commodity on this team than most others. Beane had his shot at the draft to draft Cook's replacement at the draft and he didn't. I don't want to extend Cook because 2nd contracts to very good but not elite RB's are almost always a bad investment. Use that money to maintain your offensive line or use it to address a more premium position. However, I wouldn't trade him before this season and I would even add some likely to be earned incentives to the final year of the deal to keep him as happy as possible.
  15. According to John Wawrow (AP), who is in the know, he’d take the deal that Kyren Williams got (3 years/$33 million with $23 million guaranteed). He’s eighth best according to a survey of nfl scouts and execs: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/45589580/ranking-nfl-top-10-running-backs-2025-execs-coaches-scouts-make-their-picks-best-rushers "Dangerous and explosive," an NFL personnel executive said. Added an AFC exec: "He's perfect for that offense, with a quarterback that spreads things out. He's good in the passing game, catches the ball really well, good in open space. Not sure he's elite yet, but he's really, really good." He's averaging 222 carries per season as the starter, and some teams are curious about how he would hold up as a 300-carry No. 1 back at 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds. But either way, he has earned leaguewide respect at a time when he's seeking a contract extension from Buffalo.
  16. yup. and it's bad for democracy. it marginalizes voters. bad enough you can win the presidency with less than a majority, but this cancels people. Yes, both sides do it. But this has gone nuclear. And it's very bad.
  17. Ego batteries are all 56 volts .
  18. I agree and that's the way I want it. Interesting means some sort of turmoil. I want it to be so boring that the NFL never features them again.
  19. A few mentions of Harrison Phillips, agree on that. (Wyatt Teller too, obviously. Even though it wasn’t FA) Mongo went to the SB with the 9ers, pretty solid play when he wasn’t injured after leaving. Edmunds, love or hate him has been decent for Chicago. The only other guy I can think of under Beane is Dean Marlowe. Had a solid season in Detroit before fading back into obscurity/journeyman status and out of the league.
  20. Set before we drafted him. His upside is Tee Higgins. I hope he can become that guy. And hopefully we one day get our Chase as well. Maybe we’ll luck into getting Jeremiah Smith in a couple years
