Sad Sack Bills

Recommended Posts

How many guys do we have that are in the top ten at their respective positions? On offense Evans and maybe Lynch , that's it.. On "D" maybe Schoebel? , maybe Stroud? I think McKelvin will be there too but not in 2009..

That's it, how pathetic,.. Hard to be an optimist when the talent level is a joke !

Schobel, Stroud, Whitner, Moorman, Parrish as a PR, McKelvin as a KR, Owens, Evans, Lynch, after this year you can add Edwards and Poz and of course Hamdan.

Evans? Really? He's paid like a top ten, but does not produce like one.

You know that chorus that the fans all sing out at the stadium when an official makes a really bad call? All together now........

I don't know about Lindell. He's been more accurate than anybody from short range, but that doesn't exactly separate him from the pack because most guys hit around 85% or better from inside 40. So when it comes down to the long ones, I can definitely think of more than 10 other guys I want to be kicking my game winning FG.

Agreed 100%. Lindell has never made me feel good when he is lining up for an important kick. He has missed a lot of big kicks (Pitts, Indy, Cleveland, SF). He is one of my least favorite Bills and hopefully we will upgrade his position soon.

I like your list and would add Walker as a RT. He is one of the top ten RT's in the game.

I would not put lynch on that list. Whitner is an excellent cover safety. He isnt making huge plays and interceptions, but to have a safety that can play in the box and still be our best cover guy is pretty huge.

Just taking the starting 11 on every offense and defense for every team in the NFL, then the average team, statistically, should have 6.875, call it 7, players that rank in the top-10 at their position.

Using scribo's list, he called out Owens, Lynch, Whitner and (as he put it "on the bubble") Evans, Stroud, and Schobel. A hair under average. Sounds kinda 7-9-ish. :w00t:

The Bills have the best ST's unit. That counts for something outside of the "we don't have X number of stars..." And this is the Bills' first year in awhile with 2 stud WR's, a chain-moving 3rd WR, 2 stud RB's, promising TE's (Fine will surprise some people and Nelson has some wheels), what looks to be an imposing interior OL, and a very good secondary. I'd like to see another stout DT and Tinoisamoa (or a better alternative) added to shore-up the LB'er spots, but I think the Bills have the makings of a good team this year.

Good point. In 2008, Lee Evans ranked 19th overall and 18th among WRs, in terms of receiving yards.

Marshawn Lynch ranks 65th among RBs in terms of yards per attempt. However, 42 of the guys in front of him had fewer than 100 rushing attempts. But even after they're taken away, that's still 23rd among RBs with over 100 carries. I'll grant that Lynch had below-average run blocking, so his actual rank is somewhat higher. Whether grading him on a curve is enough to put him in the top 10 RBs, however, is an open question.

Does anyone have a link to a good website for player rankings?

Thanks. He simply disappears for entire games, which top WRs do not do, and his TD total was very low for 2008.

Yes, and the team will take the field on opening day astride unicorns escorted by fairie folk.
