There isn't anything "middle road" about President Obama. And when the economy finally recovers, it'll be in spite of the ridiculous "efforts" of the government.

He's "middle road" of what American voters support, otherwise he wouldn't continue to have high job ratings after the actions he has taken. It might not be what you like as a middle road, but it's where the majority of Americans are. And when the economy recovers, I'm sure the right wingers will try to downplay the success of Obama's policies, because they have nothing else to contribute.

This statement is absolutely true. Like it or not, the nation has shifted decidedly to the left and these policies are a reflection of that sea change. Want to pine for the days of the Reagan revolution? Might as well be longing for the days of the Revolutionary War, because that's about how antiquated that dream is in today's reality.

Though for conservatives the shift towards liberal socialist policy may seem outrageous, the future is only going to be more liberal and socialist and the current standard of what is left will be considered center or even center-right over time by comparison. I say this from a position of neutral observation, not advocacy in either direction.

Obama has high job ratings because people have to yet to realize that simply adding a tax burden to people making more than $250K wont' be enough to handle the current spending party going on; and when that number gets lowered to $200K, then $150K, and then companies start passing down the additional costs for cap and trade, and the economic recovery -- which any sane person knows would take place on it's own without spending billions on special interests -- doesn't happen as fast as they were promised...and inflation kicks into high gear...well, I'm pretty sure right wingers will be doing anything but downplaying the success of Obama's policies.

Fortunately for the Democrats, he's locked in the Cuban-American voters, and when he's done giving every illegal immigrant free work visas, free health care, and free money so they have a place to live and food on their tables, most "Americans" won't know and won't care that his policies suck because the administration will have what it wants: a majority of the population dependent on the government, with a minority doing the heavy lifting. It's damn genius. Absolutely genius. I only wish I was a lazyass drain on society because man, oh, man those folks are gonna have it made in the shade in no time.

"Its just a few bad apples"

"It doesnt represent everyone protesting"

"These people dont share our beleifs"

"Please dont lump all XXX in with these whackos"

Too bad that doesn't apply to all.

I get called a lib all too often for my non repub views.

And once again we see why it's so easy for libs to be hypocrites. They can never practice what they preach in order to reach their idea of utopia. Raise taxes to provide services to everyone, just not my taxes. Schmuck.

Sorry I have taken so long to reply... I was on a "liberal holiday". :):P:lol:

Anyway... You won't see me whining and crying, stomping my feet like a child if Indiana raised their taxes... Heck, let them (states) all raise raise their taxes... So they are all the same. It is that difference (taxes between states) that casues all the problem.

And it was sarcastic, tongue in cheek (my comment).

I can care less if they raise my taxes, like I said... I am not going to whine and cry or stomp my feet. Acting hypocritical would be if I pouted like a child that Indiana raised their taxes to Illlinois levels.

Well I act like a child when my taxes are raised. I ask "why?" I have not noticed any increase in the services I receive from my tax dollars. If anything they've gone down.

So liberal's wont "stomp and cry" over their taxes being raised and the size of the US Gubmint or other issues that affect them, but they will "stomp and cry" over a war that unless they have a family member serving in combat, wont even alter their TV watching schedule?

Nope. Not this (me) liberal... That is all I am speaking for. :)

Ya know.....on second thought...call them "tea bagging" or whatever offensive term you want to. Label everyone who attended as "racist rednecks'. Becuase by doing so, youve LOST ALL MORAL HIGHGROUND to say WORD ONE next time a conservative pundit comes to clean your clocks.

As so...

Every host on Air America and every unbathed, basement-dwelling loser on the left wing blogosphere has spent the last week making jokes about tea bagging, a practice they show a surprising degree of familiarity with.

But if the Republicans were calling them "tea-bagging parties," the MSNBC hosts would have a fantastically hilarious segment for viewers in San Francisco and the West Village and not anyplace else in the rest of the country. On the other hand, they're not called "tea-bagging parties." (That, of course refers to the cocktail hour at Barney Frank's condo in Georgetown.)

LOLOLOLOL. Classic.

People voted for him for the symbolism he represented and out of anger towards Bush, and the inertia behind their support continues to propel his ratings. They did *not* vote for him because of these policies, for the simple fact that the issues we face never came up, and on those issues he did discuss in '08 he was vague even by politician standards. Maybe I've been living under a rock, but I don't recall him saying he would dramatically increase taxes on tobacco, dwarf the Reagan and Bush deficits in his first year in office, or cap salaries in the auto and financial industries... To say the american people support whatever solutions he proposes just because they like and voted for the man and/or despise Bush or the Republicans is simply not true.

The economy, foreign policy, Iraq, Afganistan, health care, education, energy, and stem cell research never came up? Really?

And the spending on the economic recovery and bailouts didn't come up because the scope of the problem didn't come to light until the election was almost over. And when it did, and McCain said, "The fundamentals of the economy are strong", that only gave the voters more reason to vote for Obama, which they did. I never said the majority Americans support what he proposes just because they like him, that's what you're saying. I'm saying they continue to trust his judgement on complex issues, and are encouraged by the policies he's enacted so far on many issues, in less than 100 days. He continues to have high favorables because of what he's done and proposes to do.

Just shows what a bunch of knuckleheads are out there. McCain says the foundations of the economy are "strong" and Obama beats him up on the statement and Obama's followers all agree with Obama that McCain is a moron for making such an out-of-touch statement. Months after the election, Obama's office announces "Of course the fundamentals of the economy are sound," and the Obama folks stand around say "Yes, he must be right. Look how in touch his office is."

Oh, I know. McCain said it was "strong" and Obama's people said it was "sound" and clearly that is a huge difference to the people paying attention. It's probably safe to say that "strong" represents the amount Obama, Pelosi and Reid distributed in their "stimulus" bill and "sound" represents the relative amount the administration wants his cabinet to cut from spending in the next 90 days.

Not sure why the rest of the world doesn't see things as clearly as those who blindly follow this new leader.

They brought this on themselves... with the tea bag imagery...tell people to send teabags...and then it just morphed. If they weren't so out of touch they would have known to avoid this and go another route. That's marketing 101.

Note by the way a whopping 134k respondents. Whoop de doo.

Yeah you're right. Fug it, we'll just tax and spend our way into the poorhouse. I guess the status quo in your mind in just lovely.
