Did anyone else cringe?

With the Lynch situation? Now granted no one said he had anything to do with it but, more negative press any he hasnt even signed a contract yet.

Nobody outside the Bills lockerroom knows what really happened. It's possible he was driving.

It's all a big misunderstanding <_<

I'm glad you've found your second dead horse to beat. At least you're expanding your horizons. Now, when we see the name "obie_wan" we can expect one of TWO things:

(1) The Bills don't have starting quality backups at all OL positions; and

(2) Anyone who suggests we should wait to hear ALL of the facts before condemning a Bills player is a misguided homer.

Thanks for contributing.

I've got to wonder if he had nothing to do with this, but the cops figured he might be a guy they can squeeze for some locker room hearsay.

Hell, they subpoenaed Ralph Wilson, why not Hardy as well? They should have subpoeaned Bill Belichick while they were at it and put him under oath. :flirt:

Really, though...this is absolute nonsense. A grand jury investigation on a Class A misdemeanor? THIS is special treatment; if you or I did this, they wouldn't put it in front of a grand jury and subpoena the owner of our friggin' companies. <_<

Probably true there DC, but then again most of us would have cooperated with police even if we left the scene of the accident. Which reminds me, when they picked up ML's car from his driveway, why didn't they kick down the door and drag him downtown for a bloodtest and questioning ? I thought leaving the scene of an accident, hit and run were felonies ?

And if there not, they should be.

The police are damned if they do and damned if they don't. It's a high profile case with a football star. If they let it go with a slap on the wrist people will say that they did that because he's a football player. If they go too hard at him it looks like a witch hunt because the guy is a high profile guy. They also want to send a strong message to the community about this type of crime.

Nope. Class A misdemeanor. A hit and run is often accompanied by felony charges (e.g. aggravated assault), but in this case given the injuries sustained the DA apparently feels additional charges weren't warranted.

And they COULD have simply left a citation on his car when they found it. "Pay this or show up in court and tell us who was driving." Really, contrary to the histrionics shown here the past couple weeks, no one gets arrested and dragged to jail over something like this. Putting aside the question of the morality of the driver's actions (which I don't defend), legally this isn't much more than a moving violation. Putting it in front of a grand jury is entirely the DA's prerogative...but it's also entirely idiotic. Waste of time and money.

And saying "hit and run should be a felony" is a pretty blanket statement? That include bumping someone's car in a parking lot? How about hitting someone's dog? BOTH are considered hit and run in New York, completely equivalent to the charge the DA's trying to bring against Lynch. Should it be a felony for you to keep driving if you hit my cat? Or maybe you want to qualify the statement a little more, like "It should be a felony to leave the scene of an accident involving personal injury requiring ER attention"?

I welcome it. This means his rookie contract will be that much smaller. Also, seeing that he has the same agent as Peters (Eugene Parker), I'll take any negatives that I can get off the field so that when contract time comes in a couple years, we can point to it and say that he doesn't deserve high priced receiver money due to his actions off the field.

I'll tell what really sucks about this; even if this ends well for everyone, and everyone is found undeniably innocent from head to toe, as an online Bills fan, we're going to have to listen to the god-awful whining and bitching and unnecessary holier-than-thou judgemental attitudes of other online Bills fans for as long as Lynch and Hardy are on the team.

Years of Lynch "left a woman for dead" and Hardy "beats up women" is in the forecast, and it's gonna suck like shiit. Just suck.

Fixed it for you.

Doesn't seem extreme for Buffalo's police force, who impounded another one of Lynch's cars that he loaned to a relative for a TRAFFIC VIOLATION. Several weeks ago Lynch and his family had to have a "clear the air" meeting with local police because he made complaints he was being treated unfairly. Am I surprised they are now blowing this way out of proportion? No. This was all in an article on yesterdays front page here.

Things that nauseate me about this post:

1- The speed with which you would sell out your own friends. I certainly hope you have none who trust you. Though, if your personality here is any indication of how you act in real life, you probably don't. <_<

2- Your apparent willingness for police to kick in doors at random and take people out of their homes. I do believe you made a joke about Nazi cops in another thread. Now, you advocate SS/Gestapo-like tactics in dealing with a MISDEMEANOR. People like you are why the government is now listening to our phone conversations sans warrants. :flirt:

I think that incident where he spoke to the police about being treated on fairly was last year, and it was because the car was impounded, and when he went to go get it, they said he couldn't because his name wasn't on the ownership, the dealership still had their name on the ownership.

As for the comment about ratting out the friend, I somewhat disagree, I wouldn't consider them a good friend if they were to do something with my vehicle and drag me into the situation where it could have a negative effect on my career and public image. If it was a situation where they came to question me because of an incident involving my friend and they only came to question me because I knew them, then I would not rat them out if I knew they really were guilty of it, unless it was a serious issue (like they killed or brutally beat someone or a robbery, etc.). But if what they did dragged me into the mess, i would definitly rat them out. I respect my friends and their property, and i expect them to do the same to me.
