He states that Buffalo can never build a 900 million dollar stadium..etc. While it is hard to argue with the fact that we are not in Toronto's league financially etc.-I do think that the future Toronto ownership does not have the patience to wait out another 5-7 years if Ralph lives that long. I think they want their own team and they want it sooner than later. They also have to get the new stadium built;which takes time. This is a strange situation. If I were a wealthy Torontonian lusting after a new team I'm not sure I would have made the deal with Ralph that I did unless there were some secret deal with Ralph to buy the Bills OR they feel strongly that they need this game or two a year to get public support for a stadium and league support to get the expansion team. -I don't see billionaires as people who like to share their toys. After those five years, the Bills lease will expire and so will Ralph. This is a done deal, let us just hope they build a mega stadium in Hamilton so we can go without fighting Toronto traffic. Rogers can while away the years counting the millions he makes off the Bills in Toronto. Meanwhile he earns the inside track for the franchise. I'm telling you there is no stopping this train. My hope is that Schumer & Goodell insist that Buffalo be represented somehow. Maybe a couple games a year at RWS. Maybe too giving Bills season ticket holders first shot at T-Bills seats. The Bills were supoosed to be in Toronto in '97...oops it did not happen. The Bills will stay in Buffalo...relax. Yes, it is true they cannot make as much money as other cities but they can make money. I do agree nobody will be able to build a new stadium as that helps them as there is no debt service on the stadium. The Bills playing a game or two in Toronto is all the vast majority of people in Canada and Toronto want as well....it makes it an event and not a threat to the CFL. Do Canadians want the CFL to crumble once an NFL team invades Toronot....will Canadians support a 1B stadium for a sport with lukewarm support in the country? How do the Jays draw? There won't be a dry eye in the house as Ty and the crew come to the aid of a once-proud, struggling city and save its NFL franchise by putting up a new stadium in one week. For another, there's no new information being revealed on this tired subject. It's just yet another journalist with an opinion. We see these threads pop up every now and then with no other intention beyond getting people hysterical. And for the usual suspects always claiming that the Bills moving to Toronto is a done deal (PromoTheOverweightRobot, Apusslawski, etc.), explain away these following points: 1. How Toronto will get the funding for an NFL-caliber stadium? 2. How Rogers and Co. can overcome the CFL and the Canadian government who are likely to once again get in the way of permanent NFL expansion into their country? 3. How Rogers and Co. will outbid the combined Kelly/Kemp ownership group when you factor in the relocation fee? 4. How Goodell will allow the Bills to leave NY state without the risk of Sen. I think this is the most likely scenario if the Bills move; a retractable roof stadium will be built in Canada somewhere between Buffalo and Toronto. Maybe in Niagara Falls, Ont. so it could be used year round for other events that would take advantage of the proximity of the casinos. The Niagara Frontier Bills. Schumer pulling the NFL's anti-trust privileges in retaliation? How? By keeping a few games at RWS each year. C'mon. Terry Schiavo showed more life than the WNY economy. They are not going to force the NFL to keep a franchise on life support. What they are going to do is negotiate a compromise where the Bills will split the season with Toronto. When the NFL goes to a 17 game season (with one neutral site game) expect 7 or 8 games in T.O. and 3-4 at RWS. That way Schumer and Goodell can claim they kept the "Buffalo" Bills alive. Of course you can bet that the 3-4 games in Buffalo will get more expensive each year. In fact I fully expect Rogers to use that tactic to claim Buffalo won't support the team. This is where the NFL has to stand up for Buffalo by making it an ironclad stipulation that the Bills franchise always play some of its games in Buffalo. But hey, you don't have to believe me. I don't have anymore proof than you do. YOu want to believe the Bills will always be in Buffalo, be my guest. I hope you're right. Me, I don't see how it's possible unless the rest of the USA runs out of drinking water and 10 million people and 50 Fortune 500 companies relocate to WNY in the next few years. The Niagara Frontier Bills. i could see this, along w an extention that makes getting to and from the stadium easier to/from canada. they could use a ferry to fill up preseason or early year games too. coming down to see the bills is a big attraction to canadian fans. i think the game per year in toronto is a good will thing that brings in big money and might allow for a power play where nys pays a bunch of the bill for a new stadium.
