In the fourth quarter of the Pats game, the Bills stopped a third-and-7 situation when rookie safety Donte Whitner recognized a blown assignment before the snap and told rookie linebacker Keith Ellison to cover the tight end instead of blitzing, as he was supposed to do. Ellison covered the tight end - not great but well enough to force an incompletion in the end zone - and the Bills forced a field goal.

"He bailed us out on that one," Fewell said of Whitner.

That's a rookie, in his first live NFL regular season action, in case anyone forgot.

Does Bowens sit when he is healthy?

I was at the Carolina preseason game and he looked really good till he got hurt.

Not a bad place to be, depth at safety!

I love Marv telling the media to wait and see which pick pans out better. He handles the media great, especially as a GM. This organization good be really good, really soon.

There is alot of wisdom and experience up top now.

Playoffs would be a great motivator for next year, and not bad for the 4 youngest team in the league. Only '2' players over 30, and one out for the season.
