[OT] Its coming...

I've been talking about for a couple of years, and I've finally got the plans in place to get my Bills "Bandwagon" van/bus in motion. Making the trip from Cincy to WNY can be a challenge, especially when I currently drive a 2 door hatchback on a daily basis, so cargo & passenger room is very limited.

At first, I was going to remodel a short bus, but I have found that they are in somewhat of high demand, so the pricing is outrageous. I can get a full sized school bus for a reasonable price, but who has the space to park one of those damn things (not to mention, it would get vandalized living in Bungle Country).

I found (and should be purchasing very soon) a Dodge Ram cargo van - currently all white with no interior besides the two seats for the driver and passenger. Plans include:

- All red paintjob with vinyl graphics (think 90's style helmet - thick white & blue "racing stripe" with charging bison on each side)

- Custom bench seat to accomodate an extra 4-6 passengers.

- Custom audio/video setup - audio by Sirius and/or small form factor PC

- Generator on board, for extra juice for lighting, heating, etc.

- At least 1 large flagpole

As the buildup begins, I'll probably update this thread...soon with pictures (once I acquire the van). Wish me luck, and look for it soon...

GO BILLS!

Having a short bus to represent your devotion to the Bills would be amazing. I would just get worried that Willis would see it and regress back to his high school days and probably hop on and forget there was a game going on.

Perhaps...I could see a keg getting good and bubbly on the ~450 mile trip up....unless I found a distributor in WNY.

Get some vibration isolators to mount it on.

And don't forget the bumper dumper. :D

I have a Chevy conversion van. and it is awesome.

I just tossed a bench seat from a dodge van, it was too long.

I am taking out the two captains seats in the middle and putting in a 3 pas. bench. I'll have room for 8 then.

Looks like I should know within a few days which van I'll be getting. I've held off on the local one with hopes of winning one on eBay...not going to link to it, because I'm still watching closely, but its definitely a cool one with a lot of the work already done...I'll update in a couple of days.

  • 3 weeks later...

Its not the one that I originally wanted, but it fits the need:

All the others were full sized vans w/ V8 motors - not exactly the most practical for a 900 mile round trip 6-8 times per year. Fortunately, the V6 in this guy will probably save me some money in the long run.

Now to figure out what I'm going to do about converting that GREEN into a more favorable appearance...might not happen until the offseason, but its a start!

It should be making the trip up for the Patriots game - probably won't look like anything special then, though.

Phase 1 of actually acquiring the van is complete. Sirius satellite receiver and Bills window film/license plate holder installed, meaning this thing is ready for its first trip up for the Patriots game.

Phase 2 of painting it will most likely occur this winter/next spring, unless I get some time off and get really motivated.

Some pictures of its humble beginnings:

Suggestions:

Purchase one of those battery start units. 30 to 60 bucks...they also can easily recharge a cell phone. Ya never know.

Also one of the 15 buck cig lighter-powered air pumps...ya never know, Part II.

Shouldn't it be red?

We considered it, but red would mean more vinyl, which would be more expensive. Also, the blue will cover up the existing green easier than red, also which would save some time and money.

It would look pretty badass though - red w/ a white (painted) brush guard on the front - would look just like a helmet

Those designs are great, I prefer the blue.
