BTW - the proliferation of great songs about a chick named "Jane" has always struck me

Jane Says - Jane's Addiction

Sweet Jane - Lou Reed

Jane - BNL

(Mary) Jane's Last Dance - Tom Petty

Jane - Starship (well OK - not great - but good in an 80's nostalgia kind of way <_< )

Honorable Mention - Janie's Got a Gun - Aerosmith

Add to that list David Essex's "Rock On" with the line, "blue jean baby queen, prettiest girl I ever seen. See her shake on the movie screen - Rock On"

Well, if you're going to go that far, how about Tiny Dancer by Elton John: "Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band"

Well, the "Jane" in "Mary Jane's Last Dance" by TP is just coincedental...

But... but... but... Kim Basinger WAS Mary Jane!

You mean that TP was somehow referencing marijuana? I'm shocked. SHOCKED, I SAY!

It's actually "Blue Gene". Poor guy can't get no relief.

I have seen a reference to "Blew Gene" in song as well, though I can't recall the meaning.
