Those contracts with void years can be extended, which from what I read will extend the cap hit further freeing space.

 

If so, Bosa, Oganjobi and possibly McGovern would be the targets to extend. 
 

No way is Milano extended. Jones probably won’t be either.

No doubt. It’s just a feeling. I think that he gets a deal bigger than Robert Hunt just got (5 years $100M and $63M guaranteed). They can get a lot for him. I suggested dealing him and a pick for Higgins. It potentially better balances the Bills and Bengals. They’d plug Anderson into that spot.

It's a criticism way down the list at this point, but part of Beane's over-commitment to his own draft picks means we never deal a guy when his value will actually net us something positive in return. Isn't it kinda weird that in 8 seasons he's NEVER moved one of his draft picks for a sizable return in trade? 

I could understand that strategy if he was actually good at drafting players, but he's not. Not even Cooper moved the needle much.

Torrence is durable and hasn't missed a start since being drafted. 

 

it would be so ironic that we trade a player who stays on the field compared to the Oliver's, Benford's, Milano's, just to name a few, who have been extended.

 

Having said that I think a trade of Torrence is a possibility because of all the previous accumulated mismanagement of the McBeane era.

Milano's contract expires at the end of this year after he restructured this summer and his 2026 cap figure is a void year. Conclusion = no cap 2026 savings available unless he is resigned and the void money is rolled into a new deal as you have stated. Obviously this scenerio is highly unlikely in this case.

Yeah, i was thinking about Shakir yesterday and I am starting to think that extension was too much money.  He is a good player, but can disappear too easily, especially when nobody else requires much attention by the opposing defense.

Serious question: do you guys want Bills to turn over every rock to create 2026 space? 
 

I ask because that just kicks the can down the road. Eventually you have to pay the piper. I’m starting to wonder if we’re not better off taking our lumps sooner to get out of this regime and starting over in 2027 with a clean slate. 
 

This would involve Terry prematurely firing McBeane with multiple years left on their extensions and any new FO taking a step back year in year one. Probably not going to happen because it’s impossible to justify to a broader fan base after years of winning. 
 

I’m just finally losing confidence enough in leadership where this scenario makes some sense, especially because we’re basically F’d next couple years with cap in terms of meaningful improvements unless we F ourselves even further in 2027 and beyond.

I was just using over the cap. They are saying that the hit cap be split with post June 1. 🤷🏻‍♂️
