Where does it say Davis is not playing?

Presuming the reply to a Twitter post that said “team changed plans due to injury” when the initial post being responded to said “Gabe had a setback…” ?

I have to admit - I don't know anything.

But I can't escape the feeling that this regime would much rather go w/ the mediocrity that they know & trust rather than take even the smallest leap to try to improve things.

Sure seems that way sometimes!

I’m sorry - what am I missing? People are now suggesting that Mecole Hardman should be activated and will somehow add to the offense? The guy who couldn’t hack in on the injury riddled Green Bay practice squad will suddenly elevate this team? They think he is poised to take over for Shakir if injured more so than 9 mil per year Samuel? Boy are some ppl WR starved.

Many delusion takes, similar to those that were thinking Gabe will come in and solve the offensive woes simply by replacing Keon.

They are likely the same ppl that ran him out of town. Btw I think Gabe is a super likable due who was overvalued, over paid, and had a stroke of bad luck with injury and regime change. That said, to think he’ll somehow step in and turn the offensive passing struggles around is farfetched.

Me too... I don't think it's rational at all, but getting Davis and Palmer in the lineup (I think/hope) is going to be a world of difference to our passing game.

I will give you Palmer.

But Gabe was on pace for a whopping 410 yards last year (prorated from 10 games). I am not sure what makes anyone think that his return would elevate the passing game. It’s wishful thinking of the fairy dust off 13 seconds.

For those of you calling for Gabe-give me 2-3 sentences why he can. Don’t tell me why others can’t, tell me why he should be on the field over the others. I just don’t see the need to play him

I have to be honest.  I’m honestly kind of blown away by your question.

Gabe, if he’s right, has shown the ability to stack routes and make plays down the field.

Hes also shown the ability to make himself available to Josh on scramble drills.

We are, dramatically, lacking both of those elements.

Perhaps Palmer gives us some of that if he’s back.  But why are you asking this question like we’re crazy for wanting this?  Our outside WR situation, between personnel and coaching, has been an absolute dumpster fire.

The Gabe ***** is just what we do. That’s honestly why I never even entertained the thought of us adding a WR at the deadline. This coach will just not play guys. His thought process is sickening. He will not dress guys that can help you. He will constantly rotate backups for no reason. No other nfl team does it. Putting the backups in voluntary all

The time. We don’t even play the better guys on game day. It’s the dumbest ***** imaginable. Samuel is the most accomplished WR on the roster. The guy literally never plays. Our WRs are struggling but we don’t play the best guys. Cole Bishop couldn’t even get on the field last year. The coach thought he needed a year.  A day two pick this year was just inactive every week until he got hurt. Max was going to split time with a CB that was washed 3 years ago. We have a KR that is only here to return, can’t play a real position…inactive every week. WTF is he on the roster for? Nothing this guy does with the roster makes sense. It’s a laundry list of excuses trying to constantly ignore the stupidity. Coaching is holding us back so much, we deserve better than pretending it’s ok

Sounds like Gabe won’t play this week. Mistake IMO.  Don’t understand this staff.  More concerned about rotational defenders than providing ANY impactful help for Josh

Joke if this is the case

So wait. We got a WR I'm Hardman but not to play WR but to play as a returner?  I get that it takes time to learn the ohh so hard to understand, stretch the field playbook, and also get I'm probably missing some other context. I'm just sick of this stuck in the mud passing game. So yeah. Sit Gabe for popped up injuriy and use Hardman as a returner. Ohh well why do I think well pass the ball further than 5 yards from the LOS. Sorry I'm in a pissy mood.

I think this team has 1994 Bills vibes.   They look like their old SB-contending selves some weeks...........and then they can't take care of business against underdog opponents and look incompetent and their weaknesses look insurmountable.

The issues in 1994 were pass rush and OL.   The most glaring issues this year are WR and LB play.

That 1994 team still had a puncher's chance to get back to the SB if Kellly hadn't gotten hurt.......but instead missed the playoffs entirely after Kelly got his knee busted up on a low hit by Jack Del Rio in an upset home defeat to a Vikings team.

There is still a chance but this is a "game script" dependent team.   They aren't going to be able to bully their way back like in recent years when they've slept-walked thru the middle of seasons.

Its wayyyyy to young a team in prime spots to be the 94 team.

Maybe more the 89 team without the locker room issue...that team had sky high expectations and was also banged up...

Ironically the 89 team had to beat the jets to get in the playoffs and they won like 30-3 or something. They finished 9-7

Strangely enough that Cleveland playoff game if I remember correctly is what give birth to the no huddle. The Kelly bills before that were extremely conservative

'89 was the beginning of something. This feels more like the end of something.

WTH?  Coleman needs to be on the bench and Gabe take his place.

So Hardman and Dane Jackson get called up & TJ Sanders to the 53.

Okay put Palmer and Hardman on the outside.

Send Hardman on a couple deep routes. Can't be worse than Coleman.

And not to be a Coleman basher, but yes Hardman is a better wide receiver and more dangerous than Coleman.

Is what it is lol

In 1989 it definitely felt like the end. It was bad.

Do you not remember Jim Kelly screaming at burkett on the sideline on Monday night football? A massive fight in the locker room with the coaches, Thurman Thomas and Jim Kelly getting into it because Howard Ballard was ass lol

It was honestly way worse than it is now. Star players almost got traded away

It's weird how history repeats itself in 1989 they also had that dramatic comeback opening day versus the dolphins just like this year versus the Ravens

Can you imagine social media with the 89 bickering bills lmfao 😅 OMG 😰

Watch Dane Jackson or Morgan Fox get called up instead of Gabe Davis

🤮

So from piecing together some reports, along with Cover1’s comments, it sounds like Sanders might be a week away, secondary concerns and Hardman is likely a call up for them trying to find a returner.

So, DT or CB & ST call ups.

Sorry Josh, I know everyone is apparently glowing about how Gabe looks in practice but you have to wait.  Defense and Special Teams come first and we can’t just add him to the 53 because Brady pounded the table for Curtis Samuel, who he doesn’t know how to implement and Shavers, who is not an NFL caliber WR, needs to play specials.

Honestly if that's true , it's extremely frustrating. They keep forcing the Coleman issue. The fact that he's leading the wide receivers in snaps is absolutely insane.

I'm not joking when I said put hardman outside instead of keon

It’s so sad that this is where we’re at. Dumpster diving for guys no one else wants on their practice squad. But hey at least Hardman is fast

You guys are just relentless.

Gabe, Hardman, Keon, Samuel, Moore, they're all JAGs.  Either Brady is going to scheme things up differently and Josh is going to elevate us or the stagnant passing game will continue.  None of those names are transforming our offense alone. You're all acting like we're stashing prime Randy Moss on the practice squad because that darn McBeane is stubbornly loyal to Keon.

ridiculous. Gabe is more valuable as a receiver than Hartman is a returner imo. The dude has been here a week so isn’t that valuable of a receiver.

13th in passing yards. 17th in passing touchdowns. Need a spark and Gabe has done it before.

I’m not a huge Gabe fan but he does have some things we have lacked in the passing game. Whether he can still do it, I dunno but it’s things he has done before.

things like getting open downfield, becoming a viable open target on the scramble drills, getting his feet in bounds on sideline catches.
