Hamler would be available as often as Samuel is but why not.

 

We have receivers, send one deep every play, use a rotation of receivers with one going deep on every play and maybe even throw a deep ball instead of another bubble screen on occasion. Make the Defense at least think they might have to defend something other than the run or short, often behind the LOS, pass.

Sad to say it, but Gabe Davis might be our best option.

Gabe was never the fastest and is coming off a tough injury for WR's. Also ?can we do better than a WR with a 53% career catch percentage? Our competition in New England is completing 72% of their throws.

For what it's worth Josh is on pace to pass for more yards than he did last season with a higher completion percentage and . Yet I guess people want to dismiss our passing came cuz you know "we have the worst WRs in the league".

I mean, both can be true. The WRs are not good enough and Josh is still making plays. Anyone who says we don’t need more talent there is just in denial

 

I used to think they had enough talent. Three games in particular this year have showed that’s simply not the case. Maybe if Palmer comes back? But right now, they are simply not good enough and/or not being schemed open

If you’re an NFL WR, why would you want to go to a team who refuses to let the strongest arm QB in the league throw down field? Most WRs aren’t lining up for 3 yd outs and bubble screens

I give you DK Metcalf, one of the best height/weight/speed guys in the NFL who's had stat lines of 3 for 35 yards, 2 for 6 yards,  5 for 55 yards, 3 for 50 yards, 3 for 32 yards and 3 for 20 yards this season and to think he's going to count $30 million against the Steelers cap next season.

I would normally agree with you. But Yesterday was really bad. I have been watching the All-22. Usually, when I do that, I see an opposing defense that made some good plays. That's what I saw when I looked at the Pats and Falcons games. So I wasn't so down. But what I see here is:

1. A Bills team that wouldn't stop running into packed boxes
2. A bunch of WRs who either can't get open or take too long to get open
3. An OC who isn't scheming the WRs open. He also telegraphs with personnel grouping when the team is running or passing.
4. A QB who refuses to throw into NFL tight windows. Too many times he took the checkdown from clean pockets before waiting for the play to develop downfield. 

The offense was a cluster from the start of the game. It looked like they didn't prrepare at all. And when they finally got rolling, they turned the ball over in brutal fashion. I can't take anything positive from it. We'll have to see how they respond, but that was one ugly game.
