Don't look now, but Von Miller is on pace for 10 sacks with the Commanders.

That would figure. Jerry Hughes shined for the Texans after we let him go.

The McDermott scheme doesn't seem to be too pass rusher friendly.  Although Leonard Floyd, did manage to get 10.5 sacks.  Besides him, no one seems to ever crack double digit sacks on this team.

mcdermott's scheme does not seem to friendly for any defensive player or position.

This dates back to Carolina as well.

I’m enjoying all the “we’re getting guys back” commentary from the podcasters when we come out of the bye with Daquan Jones and Josh Palmer not ruled out for IR and Kincaid still Questionable.

I mean, technically they are right, but I wouldn’t exactly say we’re in great shape these next few weeks with Hairston likely not seeing the field for a minute and our starting DT and only legitimate outside separator down.

I knew Palmer and Jones would be out when McDermott hit 'em with the "Week to Week" designation before the Bye.

Frustrated that Kincaid, Bernard, Milano, and Samuel still haven't gotten a Full Practice - in almost two weeks after he designated them all "Day to Day".

The feeling he gave after the Falcons game and before the Bye was that we should have everyone back, save for Palmer and Jones.

In McDermott's world, "Day to Day" means Weeks and "Week to Week" means Months.

Not true. In 2013, they led the NFL with 59 sacks (which is a TON), beating out the Bills by a couple -- and 2013 was the best sack total season in Bills history. Recall that he had Greg Hardy, who was basically unblockable but also an insane violent criminal. To be fair, he had a reasonably successful second career as a UFC fighter.

Um, because did McDermott say that until now he hadn't known it was a possibility and just a few minutes before he discovered it was a possibility?

Because it sure looks to me like that's an assumption on your part, that he just found out, rather than anything he's said.

Looked to me like he was asked the question and answered it, without any additional information about when they'd decided it.

It's not embarrassing in the slightest. A little frustrating that the doctors can't give more details on timetables and how quickly different guys will respond to treatment, but that's hardly on McDermott.

Not at all, Brown was a real success. Did a lot of routes at all levels, with success at all of them. Dangerous in the deep middle, but was very capable of picking up the six yard first downs also.

Didn't last long enough for me, what with Covid and a high but in those two years, he was a really good pickup.

As is Shakir. As was Beasley. As was Emmanuel Sanders for what we spent on him. As was McKenzie for what we spent on him. As was Gabe Davis for what we spent on him. Hollins was good for what they paid him. So was Diggs till he made himself too annoying.

The problem isn't really bad pickups. It's that many want him to spend many more resources on WR than he does. Yet the offense has been very good for a long time.

There are some choices that should be questioned. Samuel hasn't been healthy enough consistently to be effective. Scantling didn't work out, but again, the contract was pretty small. Harty wasn't successful here. There are others, but he hasn't made many big swings, so even if these guys didn't work out, we didn't lose a ton.

Now that we spent a 1st on Coleman, he'll be held accountable for that pick. Too early to say so far, but it's not far off before we'll be able to legitimately start questioning his effectiveness. Signs are not great so far, but is it him or how he's being used?

Brown had a career 53% catch rate, 62% in that one decent year with the Bills.  He didn't last 2 years, playing in only 24 games.  After that he was on 4 different teams over the next 2 seasons, then out of the league 3 years after that flash in the Bills pan.  That's really not indicative of a guy who could demonstrate success at all routes.

Sanders put up decent WR3 #'s one year then he was out of the league. Beane has an eye for bandaid type guys heading out of the league.

That was Leslie Frazier issues though - Hughes sack total before and after being in Leslie Fraziers defense was significantly higher when not in Fraziers D.

To be fair, Von Miller was on the pace or better here before getting hurt.
