He would have been back, but the Pats had mountains of cap space, and they used it to overpay him. Nobody would argue that he's earning that contract in New England (4.5 million for 9 receptions for 70 yards in 6 games), except that by spending that money the Pats made their division rival weaker. I think they signed both Diggs and Hollins out of spite. Vrabel and Kraft are petty like that. I wish Beane were petty and refused to deal with KC, but that's a topic for another discussion.

I stand corrected. But the point stands. His injury came just as the Josh and he were starting to make a connection.

In my 60 years of watching NFL football I have noticed that young teams on the rise often lose games that they should win.  This inconstancy is something I believe is a characteristic of young teams that are in the process of going from being bad to good teams. I expect the Pats to finish about 10 - 7 and make the playoffs as a wild card.

I think Coop was pretty done physically, he got hurt here immediately too. 
 

Josh takes a while to develop trust in his WRs, sometimes I think that's more the case than OC usage.

I know others have said it wasn't a hip drop tackle but I don't remember seeing a clear replay and he definitely went down awkwardly.

 

Regardless, considering the way he started the game and the state of the WR corps, it was a very untimely injury.

 

While it's not a talented group, Brady has to do a better job of scheming guys open.

 

The controversial Worthy did almost nothing against Detroit... except catch a short TD pass on a simple horizontal pattern that Elijah Moore can undoubtedly run.

Still really pisses me off. Fun guy, solid player, great attitude and made several clutch catches where others failed, but you know who needs those kind of players?
