2.5 After Thursday

Agreed. I will be rooting for the Jets (feel sick saying that) on Thursday night, but I have no hope we get any help. Fields had 5 yards passing in the 1st half yesterday. If not for two big plays on special teams they are 1-8 today. The Pats will win and win big.

The culture. He came to a perennially loser and now they’re a perennially winner. I’m one of the last people on this board to give McDermott credit but he deserves some for that. Obviously, it is more tied to Josh but McDermott gets some.

The public heat was turned way up even before the season. It’s only gotten worse. He’s absolutely not a lock to be back. He MAY be back but this isn’t like years past. He has been crushed publicly since April. What the public was worried about has come to fruition. I think it’s more likely than not that there’s someone else handling the roster this offseason.

I haven’t heard anything. That’s just speculation on my end. The public’s patience is wearing thin. We know Terry listens to WGR. Lol, he’s called in before.

You've lost your mind, lol.  How is the public's patience wearing thin? By selling out an entire stadium of PSL's for the next 30 years? Yeah, they are really teetering on the brink of a riot.

No, this is the same tantrum that happens after every loss. Fred from Tonawanda calling WGR for his Monday morning meltdown isn't going to cost Beane his job. He's under contract through the 2027 season and isn't going anywhere.

The Pats will not play down to the competition. They have the same fire that we used to have when Josh was much younger.

Agree. I would not be surprised if the Pats win by three scores. Actually, I expect they will.

Some people have perfectly reasonable points and I respect the opinion about how bad we are and should blow it up etc… even if I don’t agree with it (yet), but some people are so hysterical it’s hilarious to read. Probably the same type of people who were saying when we were 4-0 how they didn’t see any games that we’d lose for the whole season.

Has everyone forgotten that we went 7-6 twice in the last few years and then pulled it around to end the season 11-6 both times and end up 13 seconds and a missed throw to Shakir from being in the AFC championship both times? We’re 6-3 and one game behind the patriots, I’m not happy with how we’re playing but the sky hasn’t fallen in yet, the injuries on defence are a killer but I expect a strong reaction next week against the buccs, if we get hammered again (at home) then I’ll start to worry a bit more but not yet

Thanks... this is the main reason I'm just not caring all that much right now. Buffalo proved this season already it can beat elite teams when it beat KC and Baltimore when it was healthy and full strength.

I think everyone forgets these are human beings playing the game and most of them have gone through these regular season wins and losses for the last 6 straight years if you go back to 2019 (very few of those guys on the team) and there's gotta be a part of them (hopefully a very tiny part) that they battle with internally throughout the season that feels like none of the games they're playing now are going to matter in mid January.

And when that little devil takes over and you get a ridiculous loss like yesterday, the team responds.

I expect a good game from the Bills next weekend.

This was before the season!! Do you not remember or are you not familiar with the, now famous, “this isn’t fantasy football” conversation? That was before the Bills played a snap this year. This isn’t just the “angry after loss” situation. The heat has absolutely been turned up (specifically on Beane) for not helping Josh.

Yep. From the coach and QB down it is a different well run org that has the fire to win.

BUF just looks these days like a team that is use to being successful and expects it rather then earning it. The fact the national media still thinks BUF has a chance or will win in NE because the first game was a bit lucky for NE is wild to me.

That's why they both need to go

I am having a hard time thinking of how we can pull out a win in Foxboro.

This freakin place is so awful after a loss. Obviously 2 in a row makes it way worse.

We're making the playoffs. That's all i care about. I would love the #1 seed, but I reject any notion we need it. McDermott's playoff road record may be 0-whatever, but that leaves out the fact that other than 2019 (when we weren't this iteration of the Bills and Josh Allen wasn't yet Elite), every road playoff loss came against the Chiefs.

That proves somehow we're doomed on the road against other teams in the playoffs??? Totally disagree.

I also think this crowning of NE is really premature.

Guys, before the season started looking at our schedule to start the season I think we all would have been happy with 5-1 at the bye. We're one game off that pace with a mass of circumstances I think we underestimated.

Let's just take a step back for a moment and look at what really happened against Atlanta.

Our #1 receiving weapon who's become Josh’s most reliable target and finally seemed ready to break into that "Elite TE" category was out.

Josh Palmer got injured on the 2nd series and I really think that killed our offensive passing game. It was clear to me the Bills were about to integrate him more into the offense. Even the commentators brought up the conversations they had with Bills coaches last week about Palmer's deceptive speed.

Daquan Jones suffered a calf injury during warmups leaving us with 3 active DTs, one of them being Ed Oliver coming off injury. (Side note: Deonne Walker is going to be awesome!) 3 DT rotation against Bijan and Algier??? Yikes!

Bernard gets hurt mid game and exits.

McGovern gets hurt and comes back clearly still hobbled.

Plus we have 2 important defensive reinforcements coming in right after the bye and hopefully Hairston can play soon after.

Say whatever about our remaining schedule but none of these teams are that scary. The Bengals will probably still be starting Flacco and their D sucks. The Eagles (as stated) look like the NFC version of us.

Kansas City is, in reality, an inconsistent up and down team we're going to play at home and is the one team on our schedule this team doesn't look past. Yes they got players back, but they lost last week against the Jags with Worthy and it baffles my mind the way Rashee Rice is talked about as an Elite WR who will inevitably unlock their offense. The guy has played 20 NFL games and surpassed 100 yards a whopping 4 times. I'm not saying he won't be good and won't help, but the whole "uh oh!!! It's the high power Chiefs of 5 years ago!" is pretty ridiculous.

The Bucs and Steelers look good, but how much do we really think that lasts?

We aren't going undefeated after the bye, but who cares? January into (hopefully) February is all that matters. Just get there.

Take the bye, get healthy... take a breath.

6-3 after 9 games in 2023 and 2024 as well.  I agree take a breath.  We have things to fix and time to do it.

Welp I guess accordingly to most major analysts the Pats have been beating up on very bad teams or in the Bucs case a banged up team. Buffalo and TB are their two best wins and even though as Bills fans we set ourselves on fire for losing at home to NE, the major analysts like Bill Barnwell said it was an incredibly fluky win by NE as the Bills turnovers and penalties were very rare (even with Drake balling). Sooo I suppose the idea is Buffalo doesn't turn the ball over and runs over NE with a lot of play action and the defense hopefully heals so the d-line can make plays while the secondary has a day like that did against KC.

I personally just can't see it. NE on offense seems to be opening it up more and some of their younger weapons are now coming into the fold. Their defense is strong at the line and while their secondary has been a little shakier then thought, they are healthy. I just think with how it has been in terms of injuries alone we end up fighting down players we need and end up chasing again. Maybe we are cleaner penalty and turnover wise so it is closer, but Josh looks over his head and I do not see his superman coming right now given the issues they have.

Two games over a 4-day period coming. Home to Tampa then at Houston on TNF. If the Bills are 8-3, we will all be talking Super Bowl again, 7-4 will be in a good spot for the playoffs most likely as WC, 6-5 and this board will go full blown nuclear. The pitchforks and knives will be out for Beane and McDermott if that happens.

Yes, and I was one of the people loudly criticizing Beane.  But he isn't going anywhere anytime soon, regardless of any perceived "heat."

Whether it does or doesn’t remains to be seen. It’s very clear though that the heat has turned up in the court of public opinion.

They are already out from a lot of Bills fans. This loss was crushing to most Buffalo fans.

I was thinking that perhaps McD should re hire Ken Dorsey to be that passing game coordinator. Alas, he was hired at the start of 2025 by the Dallas Cowboys to be their passing game specialist.

Anyway, Atlanta showed the world how to beat the Buffalo Bills and Miami followed with the same formula. Stop the run and dare them to throw deep. In my view I see this offensive coordinator as not game planning a pass game that would work against Miami. He probably thought he run game would work or didn't care.

This should be interesting.

HOW precisely will this team fix the problem of having 3 available DE and no decent WR on the roster?

87 degree heat and injuries might have had something to do with this loss. Rookie DE Landon Jackson didn't last long. Kincaid didn't last long. Lots-0-injuries. AJ EP, Shaq Thompson. Benford, Teron, DeQuan Jones, Josh Palmer, Bosa playing one handed.

Bad weather leads to needing to run. Outside of yesterday New England's run game has been rather weak.
